I came in just to see if Kobi had posted "more effing snow!" Lol

Meanwhile, here in Asheville, we got 2" of icy snow mix. Its just bad enough for me to have a "snow" day from work. More so because of the icy, winding roads.

Higher elevations supposedly got 6". It won't keep. It never does.

My inner New Englander misses the snow....just not in the amounts y'all are getting it in. Bless your hearts...

PS my lil mama is thinking on wintering down here from now on. This from the woman who called me a wussy quiter when I left Massachusetts after LAST winter.....ha!

Im with da lil mama. Tell her I will pick her up on the dog sled and we will head somewhere with sun and warmth. Anyone know where that might be?

In case you were wondering....yes, it is snowing again. Temps are picking up tho .....it is a balmy 15 degrees. Kind of sad when 15 feels warm.

If, as Gemme said, this winter pattern will continue for the next 3-4 years.....wait a minute.....you mean just in winter right? You didnt mean it is going to snow continually for the next 3-4 years right? Right!?! :|

Im trying to see the lulls between storms as Mother Nature reminding me what normal life should look like. It was was wonderful to see the sun, bask in the 33 degree temps, and dislodge some ice hunks.

Of course, the forecast has now changed from this morning. The no snow today has changed to 2-4 inches of snow showers tonight. When did "snow showers" come to mean accumulating snow?

Well, last nights snow showers only resulted in a dusting - yay!

The sky is relatively blue, the sun is shining, and it is snowing. I will patiently await Corkey's take on that one.

It's about 0 now but feels like -17 because there are 34 mph gusts that are happening every 2-3 minutes so they're really not gusts just delayed wind. Don't forget the blowing snow from the wind. Luckily there's ton of snow on the roofs to toss around and make you feel like you are in the middle of a snow globe that's being shaken up.

It's 51*F out and raining, it feels a lot colder though. Supposed to get to a high of 69*F and more rain. I don't see how it's going to get that high today, but they say it will.

I feel for those up north and in the northeast. I pray everyone is alright during the winter storms that are mounting upon all ya'll.

The warm front is in effect now. 33 degrees, cloudy and intermittent snow on top of the snow from last night followed by the rain from last night and now the light and intermittent snow and snow showers.

As long as it stays above freezing, it's all good but that will change this evening with the cold front coming down.

Frankie was awesome. He seemed genuinely concerned about people in Daaaallas, Texas being out ,<-- :canadian: accent added and not at all like 'suck it up buttercups' which is what I would be like.

It's 30*F outside, freezing rain,light snow flakes, and ice all over the ground and roads here.

Tomorrow more rain with a high of 32*F and snow flakes.

The rest of the week is much of the same, more rain, snow flakes, and but it's warming up as of Tuesday to a high of 41*F.

Its raining all week long here. UGH

I just hope the roads are clear to drive on tomorrow because I have to travel an hour to get my MRI done.

It's 30*F and it's snowing outside on top of the slush that was made this morning with the rain and then the freezing sleet. It's at least 4 inches out there. I had to walk to the mail box in my snow boots to mail a couple letters out. Thank goodness I kept my snow boots from when I lived up north.

It's a warmer 34 *F now. I"m happier it's melting.
I shoveled the entire sidewalk and both my neighbor's walkways so it wouldn't have ice later on tonight should it freeze.

So, the weather gods on the tele have crunched the numbers and apparently we've had more than 350 cms of snow fall up/over here since November... For my American friends, that's roughly 11 1/2 feet. And I'm pretty sure most of it is still on the ground! :twitch:

I've gotta say I'm pretty much done with winter at this point! It can stop snowing aaaannny minute now (please)! :seeingstars:

We've had 98.9 inches of snow this year, soon to be over 100 inches with the next one tomorrow, Buffalo has us beat, but not by much. Very glad the lake is froze over. High 14* dewpoint -1* low -5*.

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!

We only got a little under 2 inches. It's only the 2nd time this whole season that we didn't meet or exceed the maximum forecast for snow. Everything is great, except my plowers keep pushing snow into areas that are for my customers and I keep having to have them come and backhoe it out. We're going to stop paying for that service, given that we've told pretty much everyone in the company to STOP THAT.

We have snow tomorrow....about an inch they say....but it's okay. Today was a high of 34 degrees with a ton 'o sun. It melted where and when it should and I've got a lot of bare naked pavement around here.

Just the way I like it!

Unfortunately, the temps dive tomorrow. Boo.

Todays winter storm warning has been transformed in to a snow event. If this catches on, I'm expecting a blizzard will be renamed a snow gala and a dusting will be known snow pot luck.

Tomorrows winter weather advisory is out for snow, sleet, freezing rain, and ice accretion. I dont even know what ice accretion is.

Technically, it's the process of layers of ice building up on solid objects that are exposed to freezing precipitation or super cooled fog or cloud droplets. Or something like that.

We hate it. We hate ice accretion with a fiery burn that might actually melt the crap if we could harness it.

In other news, if ONE MORE giant ass chunk of ice and snow falls off the roof at work and nearly misses my head, I'm going to lose it.

We were supposed to get up to 3 inches. As always, we are overachievers.

Yep, we got the ice and we got the snow that Dallas got lastnight and early this morning. About 2inches of snow on top of an inch of ice. Lovely to drive in ........peeps were on the freeways in Dallas getting stuck on the ice. It was a mess to see on the morning news. Buncha dumb folks trying to speed to get home lastnight and causing around 100 accidents between lastnight and this morning going to work. I just shake my damn head wondering how stupid can they get?
ICE IS ICE, there's no driving on it, unless you have some sorta studded tires which they don't sell here in TX.

It's ICED over with snow on top of the roads in Dallas and in my town just an hour East of Dallas. I"m glad I don't have to drive any where.

JEEP is getting a huge advertisement that's FREE because a group of JEEP owners are towing people that are stuck and a jack knifed 18 wheeler, for free.
I want a JEEP Now. lol

I just traded my orange Jeep Liberty Limited in December for a Buick! I loved my "pumpkin" but was ready for comfort! Besides, the Buick has done fine in the snow this winter. Admittedly I do miss her though... *sigh*

The moon is absolutely gorgeous tonight and we've had beautiful weather, lately. This weekend it will climb to 70 degrees. I can hardly believe the kind of good weather we're having. We usually have rain on a daily basis, even late winter snow. But the weather is terribly lovely and I am grateful for the reprieve in the non-stop rain that we usually have this time of the year.

Rained yesterday all day and raining today all day and night. Temps are much warmer, but skies are dark. Our land is soaked and can't hold anymore water in it, it's draining off into the parking lots and sidewalk drain. We've had about 3 inches of rain so far and more to come.

It's raining all week long here ! The ground is so soaked that the water is flooding the yards around here and the mosquitoes are breeding like mad and starting to show up really bad here. Can you say "OFF SPRAY WITH DEET" !!
It's going to be a very buggy time of year and hot and sweaty mess this Summer I can tell already.

I don't know if your fire department dose this but ours hear dose, ask if they have any free hand out for mosquitoe repelent,it comes in a solid chunk all I do is break it off then put it where the bugs are. It is pet safe and dose work, I also spray the yard for fleas or any other bug that is there, this is also pet safe the Adams spray is the best so far but I don't like to put it on the pets but you can they have a cat or dog spray you can use.

Nope , the fire dept here is only voluntary. so no free spray. I don't have to maintain the yard here, it's an apt. complex, it's just riddled with water logging the yard, it will drain off in a few days after the rain stops. I have enough mosquito spray here for myself and my cat doesn't have fleas cause I have him on meds from the vet for heartworm and fleas.
