We have what I call “boat weather:” tons of rain, flooding, and scarey driving conditions (which gets worse when BIGGO flag bearing trucks with terrible blazing lights nearly run you over— aggressive driver issues).

Highs: low 50s.
Lows: low 40s.

Rain and wicked heavy rain. Glad it is warm enough to keep it from being snow! It comes in this afternoon and goes through until tomorrow morning. They are saying 2 to 3 inches. I am going to have to get out there and do a little wood scavenging before everything gets soaked to the core.

Not much to report. No change in the weather but up and down a degree or two. Rain daily but the only snow is what the weather man has predicted since Dec. 2 LOL. We had to move into apt.s now since we have no way of constructing an igloo.

Stone-Butch
12-24-2023, 08:38 PM
Rain every day. Today it was 41F Monday for Xmas it is to be 42.8F and the next two days after that is set for 44.6. Not a thought of snow in sight down here. Up north is lots of snow and cold but down here is like spring since Sept. colder but you don't have to shovel it.

Rainy and warm on the lake.

We’re a little disappointed in my area. We’ve had some snow, but nothing consistent.

We like snow, especially around the holidays. Along with it being beautiful and manageable (we’re usually ready for snow in our state), it’s also an industry that supports our economy. From winter sports to snow removal we rely on the snow. Even the weather reporters are in a bit of a funk but we’re expecting some in the next week or so

I have to say I am little over all the northeast gloom. I try and trust the weatherman but do not like going outside to do something and then getting rained on. It looks to finally end on New Year's Eve. Guess I will have a lot of outdoor New Year's resolutions to tackle on the first!

Highs in the upper 40s F today; I only wore a sweatshirt. I should have worn a coat, but fortunately I didn't have to be outside for long. Tomorrow I have to go out into the world again, and I will be taking a coat.

I just looked out the kitchen window and it has been snowing since 10 PM so for the past 6 1/2 hours. I only see 2 or 3 inches so far on the rail of my truck bed. They were right about the snow being light and fluffy so we'll see later today how close they were about the snow totals.

Well, it’s been raining and we will get hit with unprecedented snowfall by Saturday but the bigger concern is with the GOP’s unprecedented denial on Climate Change and their version of effed up ‘facts’.

We won’t have an “America” if those swallowing the fucked up stories that the GOP spews daily, continues without being challenged and rebuked. To me, this unprecedented power grab by GOP officials will be the end of the world as we know it.

Please, oh please, let justice be done today by the appeals court judges.

Please enforce the law that *nobody* is above the law — including bad actors like the dick-tator who is ruining our country.

So we ended up with 5 to 6 inches of snow from our weekend storm. Tonight we are starting out with snow then onto sleet and it will finally end with copious amounts of rain. There are all sorts of wind and rain warnings out for tonight. Blade I'll keep an eye out for Ethel but if she lands up here I think she'll end up continuing on to Stone's country.

We got a foot of snow over the last couple days and we're preparing for a lot more starting today. I heard a report this morning asking people in my city not to park on the streets today, if possible, to allow the snow removers to do their jobs. I haven't heard that request before now.

I have plenty of blankets, candles and flashlights, but just ordered more candles.

Just double checked it was closer to half a foot (6 to 8 inches) over the last couple days. That's manageable here.

We finally have snow accumulation. We have had high winds, which has been playing havoc w everyone’s electric in the valley. I have to refill the bird feeders twice a day w weather like this.

We are the only city in the state of Ohio that has a non-tether law. Any outside dog cannot be tethered. They have to be in a kennel, and there has to be adequate shelter. They must be straw in the shelter. And for hot months, there must be shade. There must be proof that the water will not freeze as well! Any inside dog cannot be tethered for more than 20 minutes to use the bathroom! Many places have thought this would be hard to enforce, but it actually has been very easy! It’s so nice to know that at least our dogs and our city are protected in weather like this!

It’s 19°F and snowing. Snowplowers woke me up. They were working yesterday, too, but you’d never know it because the snow keeps coming down and you can barely see the roads on my street.

Haven’t lost power since the other night.

Hoping everyone is staying safe and warm.

Snow squalls have been are forecast for this afternoon and it IS squalling right now! I was just out in the yard moving cars around and now 15 minutes later everything is coated. Glad i don't have to be out and about in this as I am sure as quick as this came in, the roads are wicked slippery. Accuweather says the temp is 37 with a feels like of 32.

Soft*Silver

It is 10° out with the windchill factor of -15! We’ve had a little bit of accumulation of snow, but it’s the ice that’s dangerous beneath the snow. Right before this came in we had a couple days of rain.

The good thing is that one of my good friends from my City hooked up his snowplow to his truck, and came and plowed my road from my house to the nearest Main street, and then plowed out our driveway! Later in the day, two of my other friends came by, And they had snow blowers and they blew all the snow away from around and on our cars, and our Pathways and our steps and Porch! They refused to take any payment for this! I guess it really helps when you have a garden and giveaway vegetables all season long! Lol

It was gorgeous yesterday. Everything is covered in snow, but the sun was booming for a few hours. There’s nothing like seeing snow-covered trees with the sun shining through.

Currently, it’s 23°F with cloudy skies, snow flurries expected throughout the day. Weather advisory for Tuesday.

I could see the road from my window on Saturday, but it was covered with snow by the time I got up yesterday.

It's been messy since 10 AM. Rain, snow, more rain. Nothing has accumulated and stayed at this point. They are saying it will be heaviest tonight and are predicting 4 to 6 inches. Most of our snow this year has been light and fluffy but tonight is going to be the wet heavy stuff.

Temp is 30° F with snow flurries.

Friday it was in the 60s. Yesterday we had a light rain, but it was lovely. I saw the squirrels out looking for food a couple days agp. I bet they’ll be confused today with the snow.

They’ll be okay. Squirrels are pretty smart. They have a ecosystem going on here. The telephone wires (or whatever they are) are their highways, the trees are their condos, and the ground is their farm land. I don’t think they’re as smart as ants but they’ll be alright..

38F, raining and snowing.

Snowed yesterday but it didn’t stick. We’ll see if it sticks today.

The ducks were out and about a couple days ago and the squirrels have been rippin’ and runnin’ the streets.

Rain off and on for four days then sunshine and cool which I love. Can't take the heat. Could never live in a hot place. Summer in Canada is in air conditioning unless I go back east where there is no humidity, cool salt air and goodly amount of rain. Rain for growing food, feeding earth flowers and trees and us. Good rain to protect the forests after our mild winter with hardly any runoff for spring.

We have had really nice weather for a few weeks now but thanks to an eastern Pacific typhoon, a really big storm is expected to drop a months worth of rain on our PNW area (boat weather), today.

90% chance of rain.

High: barely above 60 degrees (which is purrfect)

Sunshine ☀️ (as toxic as it is) will return with a vengeance later after today.

TY nh I know you are far off from me and I wish you were closer as you said before I know we could hit it off. Yes I cannot take the heat and I remember one time when I was driving truck I had to go to Florida to do a pickup and delivery of an auditorium full of seats BUT, the guys takin the seats up took the weekend off before they got half way SO we had to wait till Tues as it was a long weekend. We ran out of gas and unhooked the trailer and went to get more gas as I had the air conditioner blasting. I was heat exhausted when I got home and vowed to never go any of the southern states again. I loved Texas at Xmas and Nashville for New Years but they can keep Florida, Arizona, Cali. and any other place that could use snow LOL. Take care my friend. I do hope we can chat it up one day. Come on up when fall comes and I will put you up and treat you well.

A week ongoing of heat warnings. Of people dropping dead from heat exposure. Of this Butch staying in air conditioning at home and still sweating up a storm between cool showers. Living on ice water and ice tea with tons of lemon. It is time that the planet has shown it can burn up whatever it wants. Mother Nature is really pissed at people who abuse the earth and do not care what they do so its get even time and it sure is working. Never saw so much heat and humidity in my life.

The other day at work, someone turned down the AC (it was over 100 degrees). I have a heart condition and began to profusely sweat off my forehead and thought I was going into a big heart event that would land me in the cardiac unit. OMG, so scary. 😱

But we’re in the middle of July with scorching heat.

For myself, I am relieved to report that we suffered little damage. We didn't even get a lot of rain. I live in Central FLorida, and I guess my home is far enough to the east that we barely got the outer bands. My
kids all live within a couple miles of me and they are all ok too. I am very grateful, but so sorry that others have suffered so much.
