On the news this morning; 49 out of 50 states in the US have snow on the ground. I guessed Hawaii was the only place it was not snowing and I was wrong. The map showed that snow is less than 50 miles from the border to Florida though.

Atlanta is still bogged down in ice and jack knifed 18 wheelers and in some areas the interstates are closed. Georgia is dead in her tracts for the fourth day.

My mom was telling me about that earlier. I had guessed Hawaii too.

Western NC is still getting hammered. I can't even see the tires on my car. Local news is calling for up to 12" today with an additional 8" overnight into tomorrow. Current temp is 14 degrees with a wind chill of -8.

I may never get myself dug out of this mess. SOOOOO not happy that I will be missing another weekend with my Pajara and also missing an outing with MrSunshine... :(

Major blizzard conditions here. So far we have 14 inches of snow and are now headed for the 20" mark throughout the day. It's a white-out.

Weather Update from Southern NJ: Another 8 inches of snow successfully piled on top of the snow from last week. Cars, sidewalks, driveway, front and back porch and walkway has been cleared - and to think it only took me a couple of hours.

At least I'm learning not to plan and get my hopes up. It seems to treat me better that way. I'm figuring I might see you around Valentines Day, and if I get to see you more then it's just lagniape (and no that's not another of my made-up words). But it does still stink. :(

HI all - I heard that San Antonio shut down on Friday due to snow, power outages and freezing pipes? Did anyone experience this? Corpus Christi had an ice storm on Thursday. Some people experienced some blackouts. I think it was people who had AEP as their electric provider. We have reliant and didn't have blackouts. They shut all the schools and colleges here. I was curious about what San Antonio got.

We have tornado warnings, and the possibility of 70+ mph winds. Weather report says we have had over 12,000 lightening strikes so far! Hmm...wonder whose job it is to count them? lol

It is crazy. So incredibly rare.

The first storm with funnel clouds passed through my city, but no touch downs.
The southern storm came up through CT. and hit Springfield (about 20mi south) and apparently is about to cross the Pike near Worcester.

Something unsettling about turning on the tv to find tornados have touched down in 6-9 areas in central Mass.... 2 in the city of Springfield.

So, I spoke too soon. Another storm kicked up...this time high winds, thunder, lightning and heavy heavy downpours. 1000's with out power including All of our major hospitals. Because it has been so hot, and so dry.....our soil has been hardened (like infields of ballfields) and over an inch of rain fell in an hour. We really needed that water, but it rolled off, over flowed everything, and flash flooding occurred. Storms were slow moving and just now, reports are coming in of people trapped inside their vehicals . Doppler shows two more storms heating up.

Wish I could say we had 'no wind, no rain,' but even today we have pearly gray skies, some misting here and there and gentle winds caressing the pine trees outside.
