We're here! We have been having all sorts of fun getting the pool ready for summer, putting up some bird feeders and of course, D has been busy with wedding details! I'll be working at my company charity golf tournament on the 15th, but we will make it on the 16th for E's birthday! Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Yes, I've gotten a lot of good information from June.....

Don't know about Lucy....BUT....the coop will be enclosed ~ even on the bottom, so she (or anything ELSE!) can't dig under, in case she has a 'need' to do so.

What I'm HOPING is that can acclimate and be 'friends'.....I'm playing a lot of Mr. Rogers songs when Lucy's sleeping...subliminal messages, Ya know...... :|

It depends on how heat-tolerant you are. This part of Texas is a damp heat and it doesn't cool off that much at night in the summer. Summer lasts from the beginning of May to maybe mid-October. I definitely don't consider it a "dry climate" - if we're talking humidity. The sun is out plenty though.

So I think the best time would be anywhere between Halloween and May Day unless you don't mind a nice film of sweat or if you're generally cool-natured.

I was born there and have spent the majority of my life there (I'm about an hour away at the moment), and I don't have a severe drawl. When I lived in California, people would say, "If you're from Texas, why don't you have a drawl?" But I know I used to have one and I suspect I still do if I'm talking to somebody with one. Anyway, drawl not needed. Austin has a LOT of imports anyway

I totally agree, Pup. I know he knows all the horrors that could occur. I also know that he knows I am tough enough to remove the car from his grasp should he screw up in this area.

I love him very much but not enough to tolerate that. He was sober when he came home. I know he parked the car and had 2 drinks early in the night. He stopped drinking 3 hours before driving.

I'm 49. I can translate. He had four drinks and stopped about 2 hours before driving.

Now, I would have liked that to have been 5 hours but I also know that he was sober when he came in. He and I had already had the "don't bother chewing gum" talk as well.

My mother bought a 16' Delhi aluminum canoe when I was 13 or so. We lived a block from the bayou. Heaven. I'd take some books, some food and put some soda on the stringer line since I rarely caught any fish. Then I'd paddle down to an out-of-the-way elbow on the bayou and read.

I also like to BBQ but have to admit I prefer fixing sides and letting someone else man (or woman) the pit. I'm not that fond of fire.

I liked the "studio time" they give you outside of class. You can go in and just work on your project. I took it in Nov. and made some holiday gifts.

Well, folks...I just don't think it could have gone any better! It was a great interview!

Like I mentioned earlier, the HS Choral Director was also there...and she and I visited some before the Principal got to the meeting. It seems that she was a neighbor to one of my former choral directors AND she did HER student teaching with her as well...small world!

ALso, one of my area superintendents in Richardson was the Hays Cty. Superintendent for the past 5 years or so. He is retired now. So that was cool!

The interview DID make me realize how long it had been since I'd been in a great school district! Their music budget is amazing, as is their choir room....the school's only 3 years old or so....so all the bells & whistles! Great place! I will hear something ~ yea or nay ~ on Thursday.

The principal had her 2 8-week-old black lab sister-puppies there....TOO CUTE!!!!! I got kisses.....<smile> I'm in. ;)

Oh and another neat thing? When I got home, I checked the mail....and there waiting for me was a lovely ~ and I mean LOVELY ~ check from the IRS! It seems I overpaid!

I'm not questioning the Universe! I'm just NOT! It's so wonderful and amazing!

Ok....so I was supposed to hear yesterday and did not. I'm trying not to allow my eternal optimism be dashed against the stones, but it's difficult at this point.

I know she had a difficult time reaching 2 of my references, so I'm thinking that might be some of it......I just don't know at this point. I still think I'm the best candidate and I would be so grateful to be a part of that team.....

I'll let You know when I hear something....
