There is no point in listing all of the reasons that it is a crazy-making place but it is.

Last minute projects that anyone could see should have been done correctly in the first place that have to be done right now and turned in two hours, as I getting ready to leave yesterday after a 9-hour, very intense day; only one example.

I gave 2.5 weeks notice a week ago and had felt guilty about not giving a month.

After yesterday's business: I wish I never had to go back.

I just do not need this shit at this point in my life.

Attending a super intense week long compliance education event in a couple of weeks. I really need the knowledge to do my job more effectively and to lead my compliance department in a more formal way.

I am sooooooo looking forward to the end/finalization of the probate of my father's estate. It's been nearly six months since my Pop passed away and so much has happened in that six months. It's finally coming to a finish soon, as the final monies from life insurance, stocks/bonds/investments/property roll in and are divided between my sister and me and we prepare to sell Pop's house, a great weight will be lifted from my wife's and my shoulders. We really haven't even had the "luxury" of being able to grieve the loss of my father, which is sad. Maybe now, we can do that. The upcoming holiday season is going to make that even sadder. My sister has helped us very, very little in this entire mess and we've had to deal with everything. What I am not looking forward to is going to be my sister's reaction when she discovers that I, actually, am going to inherit over half of the estate, due to how Pop had things legally fixed and being reimbursed for expenses. She is not going to be happy, but I guess she can take that up with our attorney.

When all this is over, I intend to arrange my affairs into a trust, so my wife won't have to go through what we've been through with the probate process, if I die before she does. It's so much easier with a trust (Mother has one, thank Jeebuz!!). Probate sucks!!!! Now......to sell a house. :twitch:

Tomorrow starts a two day museum binge with my guy and our collective three kids- two teens and a pre-teen. His kids are skipping school, and mine is home-schooled, so it still counts as school for her, for two days. Two days immersed in historic preservation, and we're staying at an old history laden hotel too. I can't wait.

Also looking forward to selling my house. I don't live in it anymore- bought it with my ex, lived there with her for eight years, and we moved out two years ago when we split. I've been renting it out and have tenants on a rent-to-own. We are in contract mode, and while dealing with the finances with my ex is becoming a nightmare... the sale is close to coming and I can't wait to close that chapter AND send my house into the hands of a really wonderful young couple who love it.

One of the chiefs put a software need with a hard deadline on us. My supervisor and I decided to work together on it. I want to hit it hard and heavy, get it completed as soon as possible with plenty of time to spare. We got started on it yesterday. Right now, we are shaping up raggedy-ass data .... making it presentable enough to exist in one of our Oracle tables. I am not kidding, this data is about the nastiest I have ever come across. WTF? Where ever it originated, I find it difficult to believe it had a useful purpose in its present state. Bet it has been bullied a lot too - by all the other "little datas" when they saw it. AAAAHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHA! *laughing* I am so tired, I am really punchy tonight and my humor seems to go very goofy when I am like this.

Bet I am the only one here who thought my "bullying and little datas" joke was funny. That's okay, I found it funny enough to cover everyone else's lack of enthusiasm.

I intend to attempt a restful one. I try to do too much most weekends and the norm is to go back to work on Monday in an exhausted state. Last night I even put a note to self on my bathroom mirror which reads: Slow down, rest more, take a daytime nap this weekend!

Be interesting to see how this works out. I think I can do it except the nap part - it may be too much of a reach but I have to start with some type defined goal(s) in mind.

Once again, sleep is what I look forward to very soon. Worked lunch today and didn't leave the office until 6:30 p.m.... So that is a 10.5 hour straight through day.

I became annoyed with someone who tried to push all the work on me so he could goof off and pretend busy. About 4:30, I printed 6 varying length info/instruction sheets on a particular task we are working. Neither of us know what we are doing yet. I made 2 copies of everything, one for him, one for me. Took them to his office, told him this is a "we" thing and when did he want to get started. Said the handouts would be helpful as we went through each one together. *devilish grin* I was firm and ready to get pushy but it wasn't necessary. Great guy but lazy as all. Anyway, he complied - he knows I am quite familiar with his game. We will start first thing tomorrow. :)

The upcoming race seasons. it was a lot of fun traveling around last year on the Indy circuit. This year we may try two Formula events instead of one. We might do the first race in the land of OZ. The Formula 1 Grand Prix on March 16th in Melbourne. If not we will be at this Indy car race.

Taking Trey to the vet tomorrow to hopefully get his stitches out and the cone of shame removed.
