A couple days away by myself!!
Today started with one dog having a total, nasty blow out in her crate then stomping in it. That took at least an hour to clean up and bathe her.
Then another young dog thought he could fight with the old chihuahua. Muzzle time!
Later that old chihuahua cocked his leg in the hallway and pissed where I couldn't get it clean good.
Then the 2nd young dog decided she was gonna pitch a loud screaming fit during dinner. Oh hell no!!
Then after dinner while trying to get medicine in the old chihuahua's ears, he decided to go all Tasmanian devil on me and start chewing on my hand while growling and snapping! Thank God he only has 2 teeth! My roommate was no help while he was laughing!
Now that chihuahua is in his crate in my room screaming his head off to be let out. No amount of pillow over my ears will drown out that gawd awful noise!
I'm looking forward to at least 2 days at Hot Springs!!!

A continuing education seminar. Though I'm not working right now it's still really important to me to keep up to date. In my state when you put your license into inactive status you don't have to take any continuing education classes, but I think it's important, and in the past employers have commented in a positive way about my having done so in the middle of dealing with health stuff. Since J has to do continuing education too , both for her home health aide as well as massage therapist license we're both going to take the class together. Usually these seminars are pretty fun, both interesting and informative.

Getting my daughter home from college tomorrow. She's home for a night, turning around to borrow a car and drive back to see her friends graduate and then home again. Then we have two weeks together before she leaves for an internship in Colorado.

I'm looking forward to my weekend downstate. Celebration of life for a dear friend gone almost six years now. We gather at a hotel on a mountain top every May to celebrate her with her family and close friends. We soak in the hot tub, stay up all night dancing, hike up the mountain to her memorial rock that we set up there. Then roll home.

I am looking forward to my head meeting the pillow as soon as the dogs finish wrestling on the bed. They all ate good, we went out after they ate so they could play after it had cooled down some. I installed another bright flood light yesterday. They did not want to join me much outside today. Unbearable heat! We came in a few minutes ago. I am both exhausted and sunburned too I think.

I am so slow ... took me all day to mow lawns and plant two 10 ft 4×4's in the ground in concrete. I did nothing to harm my back. Sat on the ground mostly and dug two feet down for each 4x4. I enjoyed looking at my work just before dark because I could see "accomplishments" all over the place ... makes me feel good. :)

Looking forward to these severe thunderstorms to move out and be gone. It is 7:25 and the watch is over at 9:00. I fed the pups, then had to push them out the door, course I went with them ... at least everone peed but then a bad thunderclap erupted and they all scrambled to the back door. It was only lightly raining. I want them to be able to go back out, relax enough to do their #2 potty and drink a little water. Right now the three of them are a nervous wreck. Poor babies cannot help it ... and I love all of them so much but right now I cannot help that they are working my last nerve tonight. It really is not much of a storm anymore, only thunder. I honestly believe they think we are about to get clobbered by an F5 ranker. :(

Looking forward to meeting with my neurosurgeon in the morning. This is my 2nd appointment with him. He had me do two different bone scans to see if my back can handle the hardware (rod &screws) I already put the disc with the results in the truck. It is about a 2 hour drive to meet with him.

He and I are going to have a very serious chat about putting metal in my back. I have become uncomfortable with this idea. I hope he can come up with an alternate surgery. Don't get me wrong, I really like this doctor, have a lot of confidence in his experience and talent. I have plenty of time to decide because I have to save up enough leave ... it will take months. In the meantime, I want to get a second opinion, perhaps even a third.

Halloween. Halloween is taken seriously where I work and we’re already discussing this years’ theme. We have contests (scarriest, funniest, best team, best individual, food, drinks, games, etc.). Some years I indulge and some years I don’t. This one I will.

This year the work group I’m in will dress up as the team from the tv show Scrubs. My manager has called dips on the purple colored scrubs, I’m getting some teal colored scrubs. We’ll have a couple more meetings to decide who or what we’re “operating” on and how we’ll decorate our area.

Should be fun and it’s an opportunity to connect with co workers I don’t see often.

Halloween. Halloween is taken seriously where I work and we’re already discussing this years’ theme. We have contests (scarriest, funniest, best team, best individual, food, drinks, games, etc.). Some years I indulge and some years I don’t. This one I will.

This year the work group I’m in will dress up as the team from the tv show Scrubs. My manager has called dips on the purple colored scrubs, I’m getting some teal colored scrubs. We’ll have a couple more meetings to decide who or what we’re “operating” on and how we’ll decorate our area.

Should be fun and it’s an opportunity to connect with co workers I don’t see often.

Getting up at the crack of dawn on Tuesday so I can be ready to go at 7 a.m. when the internet portal for Walt Disney World opens. Tuesday is the first day we can make our FastPass+ reservations for rides. I've got a notebook with our plan in it, and I'm going to have coffee and be wide awake and ready to go at 7 a.m. Here we come Toy Story Land - Slinky Dog Rollercoaster - Tower of Terror - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - Soarin' - Pirates of the Caribbean - Space Mountain - Haunted Mansion - Peter Pan's Flight - and Splash Mountain!

Friday night- taking my nephews to movie night at elder nephew's school. Apparently there will be food trucks too. This will be fun.

Sat and Sun- camping with my friends. Annual fall camp out. We build up a compound on a riverbank with about 20 humans and usually 5-6 dogs. We are right level with the water so the dogs who swim just swim until they can't swim anymore. Everyone leaves exhausted and happy.

Yes ma'am, a big change. I have been traveling to the northeast for 15 - 20 years for fun and I fell in-love with Maine. I considered other states near there but Maine has a special place in my heart. I love wide open spaces, mountains, green vegetation, and the Atlantic Ocean. It has been on my mind for a long time. My only fear is bears, I don't want to be prey.

Texas has become an oven with temperatures above 100 degrees for months at a time. I can't even garden in the summer anymore.

I'm looking forward to a trip with my beautiful Dear Wife to DisneyWorld/Epcot/Universal Studios Florida, with a bonus visit to my hometown of Savannah, Georgia, in the Spring. I've long told my Wife about my dearly loved hometown and I've wanted to show her where I grew up and the beautiful and historic city that holds such a dear place in my heart. :awww:

The size and scope of the St. Patrick's Day celebration in Savannah is second only to the one held in New York City. They even dye the Savannah River kelly green for the day and every liquor establishment serves green beer!!

I'm just thrilled to pieces about being able to show my lovely Bride my city!!! I'm really looking forward to both DisneyWorld and Savannah and a wonerful trip with my true love. :heartbeat:

Thanksgiving! J invited me to their house – the place is going to be packed. So many people that on the menu just for protein alone there will be a whole turkey, a turkey breast cooked on the BBQ grill, however that's done. Also a ham, roast beast, Some type of fish and something like Tofurky but not Tofurky and they don't try to make it look like a turkey so why they don't just call it a loaf – I don't know, kids. In addition all the usual sides and desserts, plus some dishes and appetizers we don't normally have because some of their friends are bringing food they typically enjoy when they are back visiting their families around this time of year. So a bunch of new stuff too. There will be all sorts of things to drink and then later mixed drinks for those who imbibe after all the kids are bedded down for the night. I can't wait, all the usual holiday fun, some new stuff to make things interesting, plenty of dessert, music – and I don't have to do a thing, not lift a finger, wash a dish, clean the house to ready the place for guests – none of it. :) I can't wait.

I had been really looking forward to today. My elder nephew had the day off of school and I had the day off of work. We went out for breakfast and had a hearty discussion on surviving a zombie apocalypse. Then we picked up my parents and all went to the aquarium. That was super fun. Then we went out for lunch and went back to my parents house for board games.

I'm also really looking forward to tomorrow because I have an actual day off for no reason other than to have the day off. No one will be in my house and the only place I have to go is a morning appointment with my dog at the vet. I will clean, exercise, and craft.
