today ... almost 101 fever. Doctor told me I have the flu.
I told him it feels more like pneumonia. Given several

I forgot to share my stinker-ism I opted in for and aimed at the doctor yesterday. I am so rotten sometimes and unable to help myself!

Keep in mind, I felt physically awful at the doctor's office yesterday - fever, ached all over, headache, exhausted. Well, from the start, I did not like this doctor ... to me, he was --->> a grumpy old man. It did not matter what I said, he was somewhat disagreeable. I asked him for an antibiotic shot. He said no because I did not need one. He told me he was prescribing Tamiflu. I had to beg for antibiotic pills. He acted like it was such a burden on him to write the antibiotic script for me. This really set me off. Then, very serious-like, I said, "have you got anything you can prescribe for my dog, she has a raw butt???" Though short-lived and almost undetectable, I did see a glimmer of shock in his face. Priceless! I never said or acted like I was joking. He said I would have to take her to a vet for treatment.

She gave me two shark teeth she found on the beach near her...she has found as many as 100 in a day...is a shelf where many are found....sharks were plentiful way, way back.....so am excited to go look, too. One has almost a blackish jade-y color to it!!!!

Driving on the freeway again this weekend. I had a breakthough a week or so ago and realized I just can't drive on 78, but I can handle I-15, I-5 and almost any other freeway. I get on 78 and freeze up, but am more relaxed on other freeways.

I think this time we'll keep the miles down and enjoy fishing, eating and hanging out. The last time, we put in too many miles, too much food and I fell two times. I think I fell because I was too tired and not concentrating on my steps.

She works full time, takes care of her Mom, (one of my baby sisters) and is transferring into university in the Fall. I am very proud of her and all of her hard work. I just wish my mother was here to see her granddaughter growing into a competent, fun, and good hearted young woman.

This will check off one of the items on my bucket list: to see Willie Nelson live at an outdoor event. I can't wait! Also, all the delicious BBQ and a wide selection of local craft beers are calling my name. I bought a really cute new skirt to wear - it looks sort of like a denim handkerchief with daisies on it. So I get to wear my new skirt too! And boots! And maybe my cowboy hat, but I haven't decided yet; it depends on how hot it is.

Any occasion to wear boots is something to look forward to!

Closing night tonight for a play my daughter has been working all month. She's on an all female tech crew and it's been a phenomenal experience. Everyone is doing a great job and learning a lot. (All teen production of All Shook Up)

Time away from the house, going south down to Galveston for a week.

Going home to Detroit for a vacation. Haven't returned since my sister died. Have been thinking about her a lot. Remembering how she would intentionally irritate our dad by playing "the blues" (music) on Sunday mornings, the close bond she shared with our mother, how she always wanted to be a mom, the number of people at her funeral, how she correctly predicted that I miss her when she was gone.

It'll be good to go home. Emotionally draining, but good. I look forward to this trip on most days.

I used to think that the colloquial expression of ... "Everything happens for a reason" .... was such a lame expression.

But, yesterday (or was it the day before?), my 40+ year old porcelain crown broke into pieces, leaving me with half a front tooth.

It's extra sharp now. LOL

I'm looking forward to seeing the dentist on Tuesday.

He's going to put a beautiful new crown on my front tooth.

I like to make my own dog biscuits...since my poodle is very particular and won't eat anything store bought.

So my daughter just started working at a natural food store and I asked her off hand if she thought they'd want to sell my biscuits
They told her they have nothing like that in the store and would be thrilled! Not only that, I'm going to be getting bacon fat from their grill for one of my recipes. And their bacon is all natural, grass fed etc. As are my eggs etal. I can certainly, and honestly, advertise them as all natural and organic :)

Now I just have to think of packaging and oh yeah a name lol...

Any suggestions would be welcome. I also don't know about pricing...

Oh, I stuff my face and eat an entire burrito in a sitting. It's not the Amherst location, but the Northampton one. Except I changed my mind and took myself out for a late breakfast instead. I think I would've enjoyed the burrito more. Oh well.

I spoke to The owner today and he'd like for me to bake some dog treats for their upcoming wellness program on the 30th! It'd be a good opportunity to see what the reception will be like. And gives me time to plan on packaging etc. They also said a business down the street (a dog training/boarding facility) might be interested in selling my biscuits too. Two strong retail leads! I'm a super excited girl :)
