In about 10 minutes I'm heading out with my work husband on his Harley. We're doing a 100 mile fundraiser ride tomorrow and doing a warm up ride today when we close up shop at work :)

Coming up - annual campout with a bunch of friends. We build a compound by a lake and have a blast.

In two weeks I'm going on an all expense paid (work) trip to Florida. I'll be in a special victims/crime victims law enforcement and policy training during the days but after 4pm I'll be free to roam Florida with two of my favorite co-workers!

I am looking forward to my pocket pittie's sore foot to be well. She sprained it playing too hard with Jeffrey. Nothing serious but I know it is painful.

This spoiled little girl is getting all the "attention mileage" she can from this sore foot.

First off you need to know, at any given time, Jennifer loves to be told how pretty she is. I mean 1000 times is not even close to too much. I say, "she is s-o-o-o-o-o pretty" and she told me it helps her foot. ;)

If I am outdoors working, I have to periodically time-out, go over and tell her "she is s-o-o-o-o-o pretty" for at least 10 minutes. This past week when we all got into bed, she wiggled up close, rolled on her back and had me tickle her tummy for no less than 30 minutes as she fell asleep ... all the while I had to say "she is s-o-o-o-o-o pretty" ... if I stopped too soon, she nudged me back into action.

The scary part is I have not exaggerated any of this.

A couple small weekend trips coming up in October. One to Salem for Halloween WITH my niece and nephew joining us. My oldest may join us just to show them around. She’s been going with me each year since she was little.

And, my favorite, a long weekend to Acadia in Maine. I haven’t been in years. It’s truly a beautiful place and I think everyone should see it once. My honey has never been so it’ll be an excellent experience.

Still debating if it’ll be too cold for the pop up by then. They don’t exactly hear well. Another thing I’m looking forward to is a better camper. It’s on our radar and we’ve been casually looking. We’ll find the right one soon :)

Topless Jeep rides and fall festivities this weekend with my boo.

Spending a long weekend at KY lake with some dear friends at the end of the month. I’m hoping the fall colors will be on full display! Lots of wine and sitting around the fire pit by the lake at night are in the plans.

Then taking the train to NOLA with my love for a few days next month. It will be our first time exploring the city together, and I can’t wait to show her my favorite places and discover some of “our” new favorites together.

A much-anticipated phone call!

For Monte to come home. He's been under the weather. I took him to the vet today. He has an abscess, it's pretty bad so they decided to medicate him, give him a three day pain shot then lance it, clean it, put some sort of drain port in, dose him with antibiotic, then admit him to their day clinic for a few hours. They don't charge extra to keep him for monitoring, fluids, and periodic vital signs before sending him home, which I think is nice. I mean if something should happen and he needed further care then of course there might be charges associated with that, but just to stay for observation there isn't. Anyhow they wanted to see him wear the cone of shame, however since I'm home all day, and Monte is well portly and can't really reach that spot even when he's feeling spry , they're just going to send one home with him. If he does prove to be a Houdini, capable of reaching parts of his body I've never seen him be able to gain access to before, then no choice about it he's going to have to wear it. J had to go back to work so my son is going to pick him up and bring him home. They close at five but said as long as he makes it there by six, no additional charge. Monte should be home before then. It's crazy how I miss him when he hasn't even been gone a full day. He's now got a shaved bare spot on his rump.

Something has happened to my Oracle SQL Developer software tool here at work. It is so screwy, won't let go of my data. It will show it to me ... playing the tease ... the data I am attempting to extract (export) from it is perfect but won't let me have it. I wired up a convaluted (spelling???) umpteen step process that tricked it into letting me have just one. Now I need 8 more. I am not doing that 8 more times. I am too old to work that hard for it. There is an easier way ... duhhhhh ... like unstalling and reinstalling the executable. Sounds like a good plan! I will have to go into stealth mode. The DBAs are at the Christmas luncheon, prime time for me to go undercover ... they like for NO ONE but them to do any Oracle work like this.

Get your legs and feet really warm first thing before you try walking.

This has helped me tremendously. I know our aches and injuries in our legs and feet are not the same but I still hope you will give it a shot.

My sciatic pain is totally gone from left hip to toes. The right one continues to very, very slowly improve. I found out that cold weather increases that pain. I won't attempt to walk on these cold mornings until I get my right hip to my toes very warm. Recently I bought my pocket pittie a full size electric blanket so I just scoot over, snuggle to her, turn the blanket on high and can walk fine after the right leg is toasty warm. Otherwise, I literally bounce off the walls in horrible pain.

My physical therapist has me building my core to support the lower discs the doc wanted to surgically correct. I think by Spring or Summer I will be done with this pain but will always have to continue the exercises that keep my stomach muscles hard and tight --->>>> keeps the pressure off that sciatic nerve.

If this does not help, I hope you find something that will.

Time in the kitchen with J tomorrow . We're going shopping together, always fun in and of itself, and then making sweets for the holidays. Can't remember everything thing but homemade caramels dipped in chocolate, Christmas Crack, some kind of cheesecake something dessert bars, that I know. She has a little purple KitchenAid mixer which she says will make things go faster, possible for us to get a lot done in just one day. After we finish making everything we're leaving things to cool and while they set heading to the dollar store to pick up some holiday print bags, containers, wrappers, ... whatever it is we need to package the treats up for gift giving. I really like my son's girlfriend she's like the daughter I never had.

My kids asked me to take their fish and then bought me a new mini aquarium, all the stuff to deck it out, keep it clean, and enough food to keep them fed for about oh I'd say two years. The ho hum part is I didn't get to pick them out, the scary part is how will Monte react, the good part - because they're had them so long we know either they're all sterile or the same sex, so either way, no unplanned pregnancies.

Not me. We're getting about 5 inches of snow, then sleet and then rain. This is the pattern that every storm has taken this season and it sucks. The gutters get plugged up and the dams get iced over and water backs into the buildings and homes. Super sucky. You can HAVE Tuesday.

Getting Monte groomed when Spring hits, then safely housed at kitty day camp while the carpet is being shampooed. Berry picking season, I'm out of strawberries and going through withdrawal. In the meantime more snow. :) I'd hate it though if I had to be out in it and there wasn't a maintenance crew to deal with the pile up, frozen pipes, things like that.
