I am actually looking forward to the close of my month of European travel and getting settled in my place in Weimar, Germany to teach until December.

The school is putting me up in a sweet accommodation where I think I will be very comfy and cosy and it's in the centre of town too. I like that I will have nearby cafes to sit in and do some work and people watch!

Early evening heading to the airport to pick up people I love and then heading to the mountains for three days of wedding bliss for a dear friend getting married. Tonight- we pre-party. Wedding tomorrow then huge hotel party and hiking in the mountains. The entire hotel is our party and we do this a few times a year for different gatherings. They let us do pretty much whatever we want when we book the place.

All towards helping people see we're all just human beings.

I have the first (the first of several to come) meeting with my manager today. I look forward to it being over. It will take time. All this makes me feel so icky on the inside. Meetings are necessary in order to take care of me. I do not mind confrontation. I have no fear. All I have to do is present facts and the documentation to back it up ... and I have it.

I must remain calm and professional even if the lies of the one I am exposing are voiced again. It will be difficult to remain calm under those circumstances. That is where I would normally explode. Not happening!! Nope! I will not give in to the urge. I am doing it differently from now on. There will come a feeling of freedom when all this is said and done ... eventually. I won't turn my head and look the other way again. I abandoned me in the past when I did this. Truth ... that is the only thing I am pursuing and exposing.

Today is a new year. The beginning. I see I still trust too much. That is what has placed me in this position to have to ask for these meetings and be heard. I feel like I have "messy" all over me. :(

The good news is that it is Friday.

Sunday I am throwing my daughter a baby "sprinkle", a smaller version of a shower. She is due March 5, but was in ER last night with contractions 2 minutes apart. I am treating myself and braised a sirloin roast in olive oil, a bit of flour, tons of black pepper, oregano, sea salt, and a tiny bit of basil. Deglazed the pan with a woody cabernet and sautéed some onions and carrots in the glaze with some added butter.

I transferred it all to my crockpot and added some rich beef bone broth and some new potatoes. It's already smelling some kind of delicious in here!

Mom comes home tomorrow! Since December 12th she has only been home for 10 days and was in 5 different facilities for 8 different stays. I think this time she will successfully stay home. Short story: she fractured hip, had surgery, got MRSA, had to go through pain management, and now is just recently able to walk 30-50 feet with minimal assist. So that is enough to get around home and continue PT there. Thank God she is finally coming home!!

Looking forward to meal prep and audiobooks tomorrow! This has been a hellacious week at work and I plan to sleep in, stay in fuzzy socks and yoga pants, and cook a ton of food tomorrow to last me the weekend and into next week.
On the prep menu is a tiny sirloin roast with red wine, garlic, carrots, potatoes, and whatever else I throw in, spinach lasagna with homemade sauce, breakfast squares, and probably a couple of different rustic breads. I love cooking up a bunch of food and filling the fridge and freezer so that I don't have to think about it for the next several days.

Looking forward to oldest son coming over to hang out, help me with some chores. He'll also stick around to make sure I don't clunk over dead in the shower, and then exhaust Monte the Magnificent with half an hour or so of, chase the red spot of light around and never catch it toy. It's so nice when my son comes over and helps with things around the apartment as I cook for us. Then sitting down together afterwards to share a nice meal. It's days spent together like this, after a whole lot of busy work, that my son really opens up with me, shares where his head is at - talks about the truly important things going on in his life and listens to what's happening in mine. Communicating, sharing thoughts, doing feelings, enjoying some laughs over a nice meal always makes for a very heart warming, pleasant and uplifting day. I can't wait to, after the chores are out of the way, spend quality time with my son.

Being a grandmother twice over! My youngest son and his partner got married this week. His wife has a son from a previous relationship and though I've always treated him like a grandson I was hesitant to call him my grandson until I had reason to believe his mom intended to stick around. I don't know that it will last forever but at least for now there's serious intent and that's a good start. So this week is their oldest son's birthday and right now I am all about having fun picking out presents for my grandson. He's already showing himself to be a great big brother by trying to share a toy with images of his baby brother on the picture screen at the ultrasound. :)

I love going to local live theater. My husband, daughter, niece are all involved in theater. Tonight I am going with my sister, my niece, my grand niece and a friend to see a locally written play performed at an "on the edge" kind of theater, about a girl who drops into madness after her brother died.

getting an extremely heavy stump I worked on Sat and Sun loaded on the truck. I want it gone ASAP and never see it again! I finally got it unattached from the ground yesterday. It is small looking but so heavy. Had to sit down and rest once before I got it out of the hole in the ground. Late Sat just before dark, I took my 12 gauge and put 6 rounds of military grade double ought shot in the very base. They tore enough plugs out of the very bottom underneath so I was able to set it on fire up under it. It burned until almost 11:00 p.m. Sat night.

Before anyone suggests it, I will not chain or tie stumps to my truck and pull them out. I know someone who was killed using that method.

I said the last time I removed a live stump it would be the last but this one was in Jennifer's favorite play area. It had to go.

Is the roller derby on a flat track? I went once and was really excited because I thought it was going to be like it was on Happy Days. When Fonzie's girlfriend Pinky Tuscardeo did roller derby. Sadly, I was disappointed when they did it on a flat surface. :(

They have a junior league for girls ages 7–17 to learn the sport of roller derby.

My granddaughter was on it from age 8-10. They played other girl leagues on the regulation banked track.

I loved watching her play. Those little girls were tough!

They also have a group for women that want to learn roller derby called "Fresh Meat".

I cannot wait to get to crawl in and out of that piss-ant sized well pump tiny concrete block of a hole again. It is so fun. I got to crawl in and out four fucking times just before dark tonight.
