Well, was too tired to post or poop (lil joke) yesterday after an full day. So gonna do it now.

Painted two coats of pale yellow on five 4x8 panels. they are the inner walls for my Grace. Now She will have bright pretty walls instead of dark brown. Before dark managed to paint all the trim pieces that will attach the wall panels to the floor. am so excited to finally have another huge project done.

Of course today it's rainy so no painting outside today. but have 2300 sq ft inside the house that could use a coat or two. lol

Didn't get to paint kitchen cupboards yesterday, ran out of steam. Had to take Advil to stop the swelling in my sore muscles. Feel better this morning. Hungry hungry though! Maybe i will just play in Grace today. I am so jonesing for a road trip right now. Must be cabin fever.

Well, need to eat something. Don't know what yet. Wish I had a wife who would cook for me once in a while. Guess I'll always be my own wife, lol.

Later ya'll :bouquet::formalbow:

No, no, did all that yesterday! I was just bragging about what I did yesterday...

I wrote and sent a Birthday card to my daughter. It's tricky because she's in her 30's now and all the jokes don't seem quite as funny to her anymore...lol.

See, when you're in your 60s, and up, people don't dare make snide age jokes cause what if you keeled over the next day. They'd feel awful ( for the most part ). But 30ers are fair game: generally in good health, in their prime, world's their oyster...and not nearly old enough to know it doesn't last forever...it's a party ...and I'd be the last one to spoil it for her.

Today my sister and I took our mom to a nice women's clothing store in McKinney, just north of where my parents—I guess I should say my mom—live.

She wanted to find a suit to wear to our dad's memorial service and graveside ceremony. She's lost so much weight, she's down to a size 6 and even tried on some size 4 skirts.

In the end she bought two lovely slacks/skirt/suit jacket sets, one gray and one black. She also got a nice blouse. My sister and I were running back and forth bringing her different sizes and combinations of outfits. In the midst of it all, I got myself a little silk top to wear with my black skirt and sweater.

Afterwards we went to a restaurant and it was very weird, not having him with us and it was awkward to pay for it ourselves, but we're falling into a pattern easily, of taking turns. Today I accomplished moving through the steps of this hard time.

Well, let's see... yesterday, Sunday:

Worked on love seat cover. Got the bottom cushion almost done, need to add a casing along the bottom edge. Instead of buying an expensive zipper, I am making the cover with a casing on the bottom edge so Roomie only has to loosen the cord to remove the cover. Toss in the washer and dryer, and done! Much better than wrestling the dang thing. So it looks like an expensive custom cover but it's not! Today I have to figure out how to make the cover for the back, arms, and front panel along the bottom. :)

Went grocery shopping. Have alot of cooking this week ahead of me.

Wasn't feeling good after that so I went to bed. Still not feeling very perky right now.

The weather is lovely outside, so I will probably go clean up the mess from the rain and wind after I get dressed and eat something.

But I'm sure netflix has something interesting to watch...:jester:

Okay, bought some throwaway brushes this morning to finish painting rust stopper stuff on my metal projects. Now I can see all the many spots I missed, :pointing: , got ahead of myself I guess?

So, anyhoo, made a second set of keys for Grace, since I've lost the original set, put them in a safe place so I would forget. :jester: I'm so clever I scare myself!

Took off the mirrors with V's help, soaking some of the rusted on bolts in vinegar, hoping I will be able to get them off later. Going to scrub/paint metal rod thingys that hold the mirrors up in place. Then I'm gonna paint with a bright spring green. That's because the back side of the mirrors are handpainted to look like Sunflowers!

I was inspired by Left Right Femme's posts on Daktari's wall, you know, all the lovely frogs? Am going to paint some of those lovely creatures on the sides of Grace. Today if the weather holds, I will wash the pollen off the sides and the toys and start drawing out where I want them to sit. Shall be great fun!!!

I wish I had a friend around here who could sit and talk to me while I work. I used to talk to Yoda, but he's gone now. Been having nightmares about my little buddy, dreaming that my mother has covered him in a suffocating gel, and I have to race to the kitchen sink to rinse it off him before he dies. Nasty way to wake up I can tell you.

Anyhoo, before I dissolve into tears again, think I will use the scraps of canvas to make big sunflower leaves to attach to the poles. I need to do something creative that will help me with my grief.

So any ways. Checked on my storage this morning. Not as much stuff left as I remembered. Thank goodness.

Well, let see. Think I will go eat some of V's salad she is making for us. So nice to have fresh foods to eat. I miss all the fresh fruit in Hawaii. Especially papaya.

Oh well. Mexico will have to do for now. :waitinggirl:

Made my hairdressing appointment despite bumper to bumper traffic. If I'd had advance warning of my early finish I may have had the opportunity to make an earlier appointment and miss rush hour. Oh well.
I did not succumb to temptation when all manor of sweet goodies were offered. Eating that stuff so close to bedtime would only lead to dreamy time weirdness.

I got a lot accomplished at work. I started the modifications for two new units for my student, sent a bunch of emails got to talk with my coworkers (we never have time for that).

I took my son to therapy and was really blunt about the trouble we have been having, asking for help because I know we really need it right now.

I gave myself permission to let the other people in my house handle everything while I deal with my emotions around what is going on with my son... and monitor him while he is grounded.

Well, let's see.

Yesterday.

Finally finished up the boo boos on metal painting job.

Despite the dang rain, the paint was not ruined. :praying:

So now need to take pics of before to go with the after photo shoot.

Haven't done much today. Very tired.

Repotted succulents, begonias, and pretty sage green fluffy plant, no idea what it is.

Cooked big pot of veggie/chicken leftover soup, Yummy. Gonna add green chili salsa to it later. Not hungry yet.

Geez, I need a nap today. Okay, gonna quit goofing off and rest.

This year I am putting in a raised tomato veggie bed so I can have fresh goodies when I wan't them.

Today has been fruitful.

let's see,

Moved refurbished statue to MY garden area
(she needs some tlc), pulled weeds for 30 minutes, cleaned up trash in front yard from the wind yesterday.

Painted tiny clay pots, they are growing sunflower seeds! Am so excited.

Took apart windchime, fresh coat of paint on chimes (black), scoured off crappy cheap crap off the glass top of it, fresh coat of paint on all the metal parts for the top,

THEN.... are you sitting down???

I put that kids glitter glue on the inside of the Glass top part, created simple design, OMG you should see it NOW!!!! So freaking CUTE!!!

I need my own craft show.

Used about 5 or 6 different colors of glitter glue, omg I can hardly wait to see how it looks in the morning sunshine!!

Okay, what else?

Took apart my yard sale lamp, I already put the rust restore stuff on it, so NOW the fun part! I painted it bright colours, greens/dark blue green/yellow and touches of white. Cause it's a pineapple!! YES, a Pineapple candle lamp. I love it. I hang my little hook earrings on the top of it and keep it on the top shelf in the bathroom I redid.

OMG, I'm having so much fun with that little room. That reminds me, I think I promised to post pics of that restore project. hummm.

So anyhoo, the candle lamp is looking good so far, not done of course, need to wait for the paint to dry, then I'm going to glue sparklely stuff on it, and maybe some beads.

Not sure.

And what else?

Oh, made lunch for me, breakfast for roomie. She said it was disgusting. So guess who is going to make her OWN breakfast tomorrow?

She woke me from a deep sleep shouting in her sleep, yes, was up at 5:20 wondering wth. So fed everyone, let dog out, fell asleep on easy up chair.

Lord I miss living alone.

Okay, and what else?

It's one of those days, grey overcast skies, no wind to speak of, not cold, not dreary, just kinda uninspiring.

Oh took Sophie for a long walk, made coffee first thing and sat on the porch with a mug full, wishing Little Yoda was in my arms. So miss my little Mister. Guess my son is right, need to get another one to love on.

Talked to a sweet friend yesterday. It was wonderful to get a new take on why I feel stuck and can't get moving. And I think he is right. Now I need to deal.

So anyhoo. Think I will go to the store now and get something, sweet and chocolatey. Oreos maybe? na. I don't know.

Later ya'll

How I enjoyed the last Saturday of winter;

Met with my boss early for coffee this morning to go over my review. She loves me, I'm her right hand :) However, didn't feel good when coffee burnt my tongue.

Went to work, moved a bazillion beautiful spring color capris and ankle pants. Dealt with 3 very energetic young girls playing in the jewelry. Keeps the mom, grandma, aunt shopping if I can divert the little ones.

Left work early, went to fabric store. Scored with batik and a 50% off coupon.

Stopped for lunch. A cold diet cold was welcomed.

Took the country road home, to enjoy the warm day. It started with light showers but warmed up to 73. I even spotted the first of the bluebonnets.

Came home to play in the garden. I should give all the leaves back to my neighbor :)
You would have thought I had roses, how the back of hand got beat up. It was a lovely time spent out in the garden. I took up the deer fence temporarily. (Have to protect some things from getting eaten. )

In a little while I'm going to make a delightful meal..feels like spring already!

Ah let's see....

Made pot of coffee, walked Sophie, sat on porch with second hot cup of joy and wept over my Little Mister so hard gave myself a headache.

Went back to bed.

Up at 11 to Roomie shouting she couldn't find her truck keys. They were in my kimono jacket pocket.... lol

So stayed up, started laundry, did 2 loads.

Picked up front yard, looked for the wooden holder for my glass canisters, still can't find it.

Pulled out my kimono jacket pattern, cut out a new jacket for myself out of a silk sheet, creamy colored with an embroidered top hem. Going to use the top hem to put on the bottom edge of the kimono. It will look fabulous.

Looked for the old flannel sheet I have been saving to line the kimono, can't find it either. Probably in storage unit. Crap. So that project is on hold until I can find the darn thing.

Cooked dinner for Roomie, fed all the critters 2x. Filled water bowls.

Cleaned kitchen, blah blah blah.

Now I'm going to pick up my mess on the dining table and go to bed.

my daughter moved in last week and I am organizing the house...again...

last nite I tried to organize the kitchen a little and I set up her keurig and put my coffee pot away...the plumber came and unclogged her bathtub...

I cleaned her bathroom (I have never seen so many hair products in my life) I gave her an entire shelf of the linen closet for her beauty supplies...I think her bathroom is now useable and she does not have to use mine :)

I cleaned my bathroom, and my bedroom...then I headed to the living room...which has not been touched since Christmas...

so I will explain...my gf of 7 years left the day after Christmas...so the Christmas tree got dismantled and all the totes were left in the living room...until today...

the Christmas totes (4 of them) and wrapping paper and various Christmas decorations and ribbon got moved to the garage or closet space or under the bed...I had been avoiding this task for various reasons...

the living room got vacuumed and dusted and is ready for my daughter to use it for a tv room or whatever...

it feels good to move on...but its a little scary (its been a very exhausting 2 weeks but I trust god has a plan)

Too much.

I build little utility tables and give them away for fun. Sometimes I don't much know the people who get them. I scavenge the wood from a local industrial park, clean it up, remove nails, sand it and fill in the blemishes with wood filler or caulk.

Anyway, I have decided from this point on, I will ask a potential receiver only how high, how wide and how long do they want their utility table. Any specifics other than that will be my choice. The last one I made, I allowed a friend to talk me into making the legs smaller than 2 x 4's - which is what I would use to make a work bench type table sturdy. I ended up going to Lowe's and buying some 2 x 3s. They are only a little bit bigger than the ones she selected of what I already had and had put on the frame. But at least they were somewhat larger. Still, I was not happy with my work and the strength of it for its designated purpose. I am afraid she may get hurt. And I am annoyed at me for agreeing to do it her way.

A lady at work wants a microwave table. That one is next and she has already told me things to do, took me to the warehouse and showed me a table with real pretty cut out legs. This was right after I said it would be a simple sturdy utility table. I stopped her and said I would make it the dimensions she gave me but any details past that would be my choice. It's not fun when it gets aggravating. This last one taught me a good lesson. I won't make that mistake again. These are freebies. I don't want to spend a whole lot of extra time on one. The fun disappears when it gets involved and tedious.

Sorry to ramble. I have been not a good friend to me today. In fact, got on my own nerves. :(

Not so much. I was doing woodworking off the back of my truck. Had to work where I found some wood because of size constraints of loading it. I would get going good and it would start raining. By the time I hurriedly threw all my tools in the truck, the rain would stop. I'd get my tools out, work for half an hour or so, then here comes the rain again. I cycled through that B.S. three times before giving up, packing it in and going home. My most loved drill, Bosch 12 - volt pocket driver got a little bit wet. It has a big heart in a small, lightweight frame - such a hard little worker. I dried it off the best I could but still a little worried about it. Brought it into my bedroom and put it on my nightstand. It gets to stay in the house tonight.

Redid my fire pit....

For a guest to enjoy in a few months...took landscape. Fire pit bricks moved them to bring in a heavy die cast steel ring...30 inches high 38 in diameter

Then put landscape bricks around it

All of it covers a ....eucalyptus tree stump

It looks so much better and I can cook on it

My guest wants a Bon fire......I,m ready

It looks so good!

Cut up and hauled off 3 loads of wood ... I wasn't going to use it - it was heavy lumber and in the future I intend to downsize my projects. Arms and stomach muscles are sore from hoisting it up on the truck. A few minutes ago I took 2 ibuprofen for soreness and 1 benadryl to calm mosquito bites. Kevin just got his monthly Heart guard Plus a little while ago... wondering if I should eat one too. LOL!

Also mowed the lawn.

I am pleased with my weekend accomplishments.

Not only did I drive out to NJ to pick up my race bike from the shop, load it on the trailer, drive it back home to Bklyn and unload and fold up the trailer, I also got two motorcycles inspected so that friends could ride them in the Pride Parade tomorrow. Then I did my 2:00 PM work shift at the bar for the women's dance, and then joined friends at the Dyke March. After that I brought a beginner friend back to Bklyn so she could practice riding some more before the big event tomorrow.

Tomorrow we lead NYC Pride down 5th Ave. After we park our bikes I'll do my work shift at out merchandise table and then hurry home so I can reassemble the trailer and load up my race bike. Then I'm driving up to New Hampshire for a track day on Monday. Woo-hoo! I'll have to drive back that same night so I can be at work at 7 AM Tuesday morning. Whew! It's hard work having fun.

Decluttered and swept the garage. It took 6hrs with just one quick drink/comfort break but I can finally find and access everything in there!

2 trips to the tip with junk from the garage. Almost all of it was true junk and none recyclable. Gah! I just doubled this weeks landfill quota.

I started out jiust wanting to do yoga this morning.....I went to roll out my mat....and...well.....Ive neglected the cleaning the last few days....so
I was just going to sweep.....so I didnt get a mouthful of dog hair while I was downward dogging.....then....I thought why sweep and not mop? Then the furniture looked dusty.....and the tv screen needed cleaning....oh....that mirror is smeared? I have the glass cleaner out anyway.....then I needed to boil water to mop ( I just like it to be really clean) so....I took the dogs out...and while I was in the basement....started my found box of long lost dresses in the wash....then back up to mop....and since the water was ready anyhow....swept the hall.....and the stairs needed a good sweep....and since i swept...might as well mop.....dozens of wall pictures were all dusty....and since I was dusting them....might as well clean behind them.....and look at the baseboards and chair rail.......and I have yet to do yoga.....

Sorry... lol... anyhoo, can someone recommend a decent substitute? ? I have olive, sunflower oil. Coconut oil. Thought I had navel jelly but used it all on another project.

Turpentine, vinegar, Dawn, oven cleaner .... have not worked on a bike for four decades.

Ya I know, but I need the cardio exercise.

I have already removed the fenders, cleaned, applied rust stop, and fresh coat of paint. Need to paint where I applied rust stop to frame. It's a girls bike, perfect height for me. :hangloose: There used to be a baby carrier on the back, BUT I took off the seat and will cut a wood platform to attach to the supports so I can put a pretty basket on the back. Gonna look so cute!! :cheer:

I love fixing stuff.

Washed the net curtains and cleaned the windows inside and out. How much lighter is it in here now!?

Cleaned skirting boards, doors and other paintwork.

Sorted through a pile of 'stuff' on the shelf above the telly. I found 5 gift cards.

Defrosted the freezer. I put all the stuff into freezer bags then attacked the ice with a hair drier and a knife. The trick is not to stick the knife through anything metal because that leads to very frizzy hair. Not that I've done that. Just a guess :)

Rehung the net curtains while still wet.

Took a lovely relaxing bubble bath.

Went out for a very delicious lunch!

Delivered the packages left in my porch that were not for me :|

Pegged out a load of washing.

Mowed the front and back lawns. Weeded the driveway and flagged areas and swept up.

Poured myself a Baileys over ice. *clink*

Chain cleaner?...take it off and soak it in gas/petrol, scrub with an old toothbrush.
Then put it back on and spray with silicone lubricant

Put my summer clothes into their pretty plastic boxes for storage in the attic.

Put said boxes into the attic right away! No sitting there just in case the weather picks up again. Until mid winter.

This is a multiple day post.

Been painting in the kitchen. Just doing the insides of the cupboards. Did the walls already. The outsides of cabinets will have to wait until I recover from this project.

Five done. Five more to go. Then the drawers. Eek. Seven not counting the two hidden drawers and secret drawer in sink area. Didn't think it would take so long. Was a WE project in the beginning. But true to form she has bailed. Only pausing from candy crush long enough to complain about the mess. What a surprise you say? Not really. Same bs new day.

Anyone interested in a Femme that can cook and remodel? No? Didn't think so. :|

Let's see... do I care? Not really. I've hung up my pearls Gentlemen. Not pulling them out again. Feels like weepy Wednesday. Maybe some Katy Perry can fix that. :cheer:
