I got a few hours of sleep in the early hours of the morning, made tea, boosted my energy by dressing well and then headed off to work.

It was an average day pace wise but I kept my creative focus

I got a few boxes put in the shed, made lunch, caught up on my posts and caught up with a friend.

My energy is positive.

I managed to get my boss to finally call me back. I called Friday to see if there was anything new (information about what is being done about the guy that's bullying me.) I practically had to threaten to call his boss if I didn't hear from him.

I drove my friend around to all her errands. She's not able to drive much because her body is in bad shape and she has spasms in her arms and legs. We had to work on her niece's apartment and other crap too.

I made it home in time to make dinner, and no one is here yet, so it's tea time :tea:

Swept and mopped the kitchen, dining room, library and downstairs bathroom.
Vacuumed and steam cleaned the living room carpet and library rug.
Ran the dishwasher.
Cleaned the litter box.
Put away towels.
Put up the new doorbell.
Put a new door lock on our foyer door.
Washed and put away the kid's clothes.
Put away two baskets worth of our clothes.
Third load is in the dryer.
Have two more to wash.

Later we will cancel cable and hang up the mirror I bought for our bedroom... three months ago. :|

I am awfully productive when Daddy is at work! In turn, I get to sleep in and get a pass on cooking.

Yesterday:

(For over 6 hours...)Organized the utility/storage room (which entailed digging out summer clothes and putting things in place based on holiday and when it will be needed, organizing like items into bins, ie car care, tools, crafts etc) :seeingstars:

Became gainfully employed again..:hangloose:

Did dishes

Made dinner

Did laundry

After all that I didn't feel the need for the gym...and I was in bed by 9pm :|

I went and got a new phone.

I got an awesome deal - - $200 less than the price I was quoted on Monday.

And when I got home I realized that I'd gotten a 3G phone instead of a 5G, and it was so cheap because I got a 3 year contract that didn't include country-wide calling.

jeez.

Back to try it again tomorrow.

I cleaned my car....which took much longer than necessary.(about 3 hours)..because...well...I get very type A about things...sometimes...

I re-vacuumed the house because...(see above)

I mopped the bathroom with straight bleach (yeah..cuz..yep)

I did a load of wash and hung it to dry

Fed the fur babies and fin babies..watered the prior..the fin babies had water already...

I straightened out the coffee table...which endlessly accumulates chaos...its a chaos catch all....

Did dishes...

Tidied the kitchen...

Remembered to make lunch... :hangloose:

Recycled much crap from my car

Finally emptied the burnt pot and set it to soak...

Let the dogs out numerous times...

Made dinner...

Took a 15 minute nap in there somewheres....

WANTING to put heaps of wash away...but having a broken bedroom light hinders that a tad... :|

Brain stormed with colleagues.
Earned some more bill money.
Made lunch and ate lunch. I've been known to cook, get caught up and forget to eat. Ping! ♥ my microwave. Even when it mushes stuff.
Made an important professional phone call, left message for the person out to lunch. Still waiting for the call back. That's some lunch break!
Attempted to catch up on paperwork backlog. Again.
Bit more brain storming.
Got on with yet more paperwork.
Self evaluated my plans for self evaluation. Because you know, I'm short of paperwork. :|

-- Took pup on short ride while I dropped off absolutely ancient electronics for recycling. :fyi:

-- Filled all but two flower containers with multi-colored Pansies as it's still too early, and the soil is not yet friable, to add color to the landscaping. What a visual relief to have some color after the drab and recalcitrant winter weather we've had this "Spring"! :overreaction:

Once the weather truly stays warm (for more than a day) I will plant two container herb cutting gardens for cooking/kitchen use. :veggie:

-- Swept up detritus around fence by alley. :yeahthat:

-- Brought out and connected garden hoses. :wateringgarden:

-- Plotted scheme for dividing and transplanting various plants in flower beds. :smelling-flower:

-- Took bike to nearby auto repair shop to get tires inflated and ended up on spontaneous 4-mike bike ride through various parks in this gorgeous, sunny weather. Great feeling how the gym workouts on stationary bike have paid off. The ride was easy-peasy even against the wind. :fastcycling:

-- Fought off the urge to get a new puppy... sheesh, this time of year there are sooooo many people out walking/training with their adorable puppies that it's tempting to get one! :awww:

-- Resting now before tackling a minor woodworking project (which will also involve a table saw). :hammer:

-- Planning on a very long walk with the pup early this evening - she deserves it. :dogwalking:

-- Then for dinner a :bbq: because I dare say that I deserve it. Maybe a :movieguy: tonight...

Plugged in my shiny new sonic ant repeller. (I hope it works as well as the sonic rat repeller)
Fed and watered the feathered peeps.
Cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more. The things I found under the couch! I'd blame the cat, if I had a cat. And, my couch goes right down to the floor so how do things get under there? How!?
Took my very heavy rug out to the far end of the garden and shook! Nearly shook my arms off, that thing weighs a ton.
Bubble bath!
Laminated stuff.
Wrote a chatty catch up letter to my dad. He doesn't do technology.
Cooked a new recipe I found for Moroccan style meatballs. Yummy. I made enough for 2 days and well.... I'll have something else tomorrow :p

Woke up, got up, got myself a fresh towel, run a bubble bath and got in.

When I'm done I'll dry my hair (been playing floaty mermaid hair), dress in line dried jammies and do some serious relaxing and chilling out allllll day. With a break to cook so I do not starve to death.

Should have got myself a drink though. It's hot and thirsty work taking a bubble bath! Anyone want to bring me a drink?

Some plant maintenance that used to take me half as long to perform when I was 30. Time is a funny bugger.

Got up at 530 am and cleaned the downstairs. Did 3 loads of laundry and washed the sheets and made the bed after I ironed the pillow cases. Cleaned up the garage. Weeded the flower bed. Then I cut the grass and weedwacked. Laid 5 bags of dirt on the brown patches of the lawn to stimulate the roots. Planted some wild flower seed in the back by the fence line to the forest. Then I waxed my motorcycle, and took it for a ride to have a late lunch and run a couple errands . Just got home and drinking some coffee, contemplating going running or riding my bicycle for a bit. I got a job, does that count? ;) I have gone from retail to Residence Specialist at a group home for elderly folks with mental illnesses.

I was just making brownies and thought "OMG, I get to decorate for Christmas!"

Yup, think I will totally dig this :)

Got up EARLY on a day off, went to help a friend do some heavy labor on his newly purchased rehab home.

spent 1 hour trimming back a WAY overgrown red-leaf barberry bush.

bled from said barberry

dug a 5 foot by 8 foot by 2 foot drainage ditch, hauled the dirt away

hauled gravel to fill it back in, filled in and leveled.

Placed paving stones over the gravel

mowed

dug up an overgrown flower bed

all that and I managed NOT to be the guy that stepped on the rusted nail

Home now and freshly showered, looking forward to the supper my roomie is cooking!

Tomorrow? pj's ... all day long! :D

what I accomplished today ... will most likely make me BEG for pain relief tomorrow .
to say I overdid it is an understatement ...
but the chickens are happy with their new home made from recycled swing sets, repurposed 10x10x6 dog cage panels, 1 repurposed dog cage gate...recycled heavy duty steal wire warehouse rack dividers (say that 5 times fast) to make sure chickies can't squeeze thru spaces in cage panels, recycled sheets of aluminum siding for shade and weather protection on the side, recycled smaller panels of aluminum window awnings for the roof, YARDS AND YARDS of recycled "hot wire " used to wire everything together and make sure no coyotes can get in ...and no chickies can get out....2 reused 1"x6"x10' boards to "slap hammer " the bottom of the chicken wire to...and several feet of regular chicken wire to fill in little gaps on the end caps...this all made an engineering NIGHTMARE, UGLY chicken hutch...
but all 12 babies are very happy

I'm too pooped to post a list, but I'm very happy with my weekend accomplishments...
and the fact my home-made, handy-dandy, Do-It-Myself chicken hutch stood through the nasty thunderstorm and all 12 chickies are safe and mostly dry (if they'd been smart enough to move over to the middle nesting box, they'd be completely dry...but nooooo, they had to huddle all in the corner box next to the fence...there's so many of them stuffed in that one box, that little heads and butts are sticking out over the front edge :cluck: :cluck: )

now I'm kicked back, listening to the rain, delighting in all the extra space I made in my room today after sorting and rearranging things...and WooBear is happy that I finished assembling his favorite crate.

Put out the bin. Just one, recycling is next week.
General cleaning, feeding, watering of the feathered peeps.
Pegged out the load I washed over night.
Bubble bath followed by getting myself together for the day.
Applied sun cream.
Made breakfast.
Earned bill money.
Collected a couple of prescriptions. One was something the pharmacy didn't have enough of on Monday. On Monday I get to collect what they didn't have enough of today.
Met up with friends for a brisk (but all too short) walk in the country park. My favourite ranger wasn't there today :sigh:
Fed the chooks some raisins, a favourite treat.
Collected eggs.
Made late lunch.
Brought in wash, sorted, folded and put away.
Earned bill money.
Cleaned! swept, vacuumed, damp dusted, found homes for various random items.
Gave myself a pedi/mani.

Got 12 hours of sleep
Laced up a paddle, and stenciled another one
Watched a movie
Ate some leftovers
Drooled over my thirty-one kit
Set up an Etsy shop for our stuff
Bard ordered cards
Figured out a price list, and decided what to bring to LR to vendor

Yesterday?

Got our new cable box sans DVR
Bought some tops, capri's and skirts. For LR, yeah!
Daddy picked out a dress for me on our way out, so we got that too LOL
Got some babyclothes for my cousin who is going in for a C-section in 5 days
Gathered and sorted stuff to be sent out for raffles
Took pictures of items I am bringing for femme swap
Was able to finally start contributing to my Roth IRA [will not get a 401k until a year at my new job] now that we have met our LR monetary goal

Hm, think that was it!

More than nine months after Hurricane Sandy I'm still fighting sporadic mold in unexpected places. My ground floor sculpture studio is almost a work space again since I finally emptied the huge, expensive storage unit and re-filled the studio with my salvaged, not ruined tools and materials while I was supposed to be recovering from major surgery.

Mold had invaded the upstairs kitchen sink. It got under the loosened formica, and no amount of bleach seemed to keep it down. Now that I have tools and materials again, I finally unhooked the sink today, (I missed my pipe wrenches!), took off the unbelievably rotten counter top which crumbled to pieces in my hands sending moldy pressboard everywhere, and replaced it with a temporary piece of plywood which I had cut to size. (I so missed my circular saw and my jig saw!) I re-wrapped the fittings with teflon tape, (I really missed my file cabinets full of, well, everything I need to make and build stuff, including teflon tape!), tightened everything, and I have NO LEAKS! Yay for me. That was accomplished after my doctor's appointment and after getting myself out to New Jersey to pick up a motorcycle.

Kitchen reno this winter, I think.

Started wash...hung it to dry (x2)

Dusted the living room

Hung a decorative item that I've neglected to put up for a while

Vacuumed, and mopped the living room, hall and kitchen

Swept the utility/laundry room

Cleaned the kitchen, including the sink

Cooked for the dogs

Took said dogs for a short hike

Went to the reservoir to read for a while

Did dishes

Sorted through my cookbooks (only got rid of 3 though...)

Saved many spiders while cleaning

Watered the bathroom plant

Fed the fish

Tidied the fridge

Ultimately did 5 or 6 loads of wash...didn't know I had that much!

Well I got off work at 7am, it is now 5pm and I still haven't slept and yet I go in at 11pm..

Finally posted items and got our Etsy shop up and running.
Stained seven jewelry boxes, waiting to dry so I can stencil and finish
Conditioned two boxes, need to sand and decide how to design
Stenciled a paddle and it came out a little meh.. Can't re-do.. Debating covering in glitter and attempting to sell anyways!
Stained a piece commissioned by a friend, then have to stencil and wax and poly and then lace it up the sides with leather!
Two other paddles are waxed and awaiting design

If we don't sell anything we will be out $250-ish and a lot of sleep! :P

I finished a friend's poetry manuscript at lunch, sitting at this little park with a big fountain near City Hall, and then emailed comments to him and he said, "You so get me," and "I thank you with all my heart." I forget that people who are so much more accomplished than me and whose talent is huge, need understanding around their work too.

I did some of the little bullshit writing I do at work. Okay, it's not bullshit, but not exactly exciting. But I tried to do it well.

I made a proposal to my boss, something kind of unorthodox that I want to do for my own staff development this year instead of traveling to a conference. I want to hang out with people who do what I do, in other institutions in our system, and blog about it, and he went for it. I think I'll learn more from them than some expert on national trends, not that the trends aren't valid.

I rode my bike for an hour and a half, taking a three-mile loop around a park I love, and chasing down the longest, straightest bike trails I know of close by here.

I sent in an application to get someone an honorarium, someone who's pinch-hitting for someone else who bailed on us, in this little reading series I run with a friend.

I made popcorn. I consider that a valid accomplishment. But note to self, Stop being cheap popcorn.

I laid out my clothes for tomorrow, and set out my coffee ready to make in the morning and assembled my lunch (the parts are already in little containers that I take with me all week till they're gone). I'm mothering myself, making things as easy as possible for myself.

I invited a friend to go to this Meetup thing Friday night but she can't go, but we emailed a little and I feel like our small connection is healthy and that's an accomplishment.

I put new shoelaces in my biking shoes. They've needed them for years.

My accomplishments are not exactly fascinating, but they keep me going.

See, there is no butch at this residence. Just a femme. This femme. Who wants some respect. Appreciation. A night out to dance. Breakfast out on Sunday. Coffee on the beach at sunrise. Fresh flowers. Gift card for Joanne's maybe.

Am tired and sore, I want to soak in a hot tub of bubbles and lavender. A glass of Sangria. A foot massage ......

I worked with my HR people at my employment and was granted a weeks delay for my termination (yeah for another week of insurance!).

I was able to get some final goodbyes taken care of with some of my coworkers over the phone, that's an emotional deal I wasn't expecting.

I got in touch with an old friend who offered to help me get through some of the processes for disability, I'm very thankful for that because it seems very daunting, I have no clue how people manage it.

I spent some quality time with my wife that did not have to involve discussions or bills or what we had to get done or dealing with medical crap. We did something for ourselves that included ice cream and a movie.

actually reflecting on yesterday, a day in the life of me...

1 12 hour shift. This is one of the slowest months for my type of business so it's a struggle to keep busy and make my day go by.
Wore denim to work, due to the fact it's back to school and we are trying to push denim. Mind you it's still very hot here and wearing long pants is just miserable.
However, I'm a team player and will do what ever it takes to make $$$!
Had a conversation with a customer who recently took 3 grand kids to college and was explaining her adventure shopping for dorm stuff, just days before classes actually started. Now that was interesting, because I've never had to do that. Hmmm, things in life I don't see. I get to hear about it thru others:)

Another fun and heartwarming conversation with 5 little girls who came in together with, maybe their guardians? They were all foster kids. I bent over and got to their level and chatted about the one who had missing front teeth, and then about the tooth fairy and how she comes into the house. How excited they were to start school. Who was their favorite princess? I could talk with kids all day long. And it helps to keep them distracted so their parents can shop! ( how I've learned that trick!)

Rearranged 75% of the store. Oh, how I love to move things, it's the interior decorator in me. And the fact that change is a good thing for many reasons :)

Hung 200 new tops. And you know when you do that, you have to try on and ogle. Look at some things and think, " what were they thinking? " UGLY! A few pairs of shoes got slipped on as well.

Working on promoting and train a part timer to my asst manager. Who, received flowers on her car. To be 18 again, and be giddy. It was fun to watch her emotions work. Lol, my staff keeps me young!

Finally, the day was over and came home to watch my recorded episode of Big Brother , along with a conversation with a friend about it.

Went to my follow-up diabetic doctor appointment.. She is very straight forward, and a little funny. Wasn't sure about her at first but I am really appreciating the no-bullshit approach she has.

Got all my college textbooks and was able to rent two and buy one used so it saved me a good $150-ish.

Had Subway for lunch [have been eyeing DD iced coffee] and we got ingredients to make homemade Alfredo sauce, and a new recipe for meatballs.

Tried to pick up test strips for my new prescribed meter.. was informed my medical insurance is listed as terminated.. Out of pocket is $100. Nothing wrong with my current one except my doctor can't download the data. Have to call HR on Monday and find out WTF, because you bet your ass I have insurance!

Now it is time to do some more homework, though I realllllllly want to nap.

Sprayed down her microwave to clean it...then forgot :| (I gotta call my mom)

Got home

Switched the laundry

Enrolled in school again...this time it's official like

whew....

I washed my car. And I'm happy to report I can reach the top if I stand on my toes.

Did a little gardening. Clipped back the garlic Lillie's. I can still smell the scent on my fingers. Then I played a little with the garden hose. It's one of my favorite pastimes. Bare feet and a water hose, I can entertain myself for awhile.

Folded the sheets and towels, and another load in.

Staying in the office and turning on the sewing machine. Some quilting is going to get done today!

What have you accomplished today?

Besides all the usual, everyday stuff, I finally got to work on the shrubs on my back deck that were in pots damaged by Hurricane Sandy. It was a low priority considering my gutted first floor, but now that it's mostly back together on the inside, I don't feel quite as guilty about re-beautifying the outside.

There was 5'-6' of salt water in my backyard, and the deck was submerged. Salt water impregnated the the bottom 8" of those giant clay pots which disintegrated over the subsequent months. I now have beautiful and healthy rosemary, evergreen and blueberry bushes. Most importantly, my precious miniature lavender rose bush given to me by my late partner a dozen years ago, which has seen more than it's share of travails, is very happy in it's new and beautiful home.

This was a feat for my big mouth so I am considering it an accomplishment.

Listening to someone's perspective and genuinely trying to understand their view but ...then deciding it was best to just smile let it be lol. Sometimes picking your battles is worth more then trying to express your point to someone who seriously is not going to be able to connect the dots.

Back in bed. My bladder is not the boss of me! OK, maybe it is.

General chook care, feeding, watering, clean straw.
Searched the back of the garage for an appropriate pot for a delicate plant that needs bringing inside indoors until spring.
Threw jammies in wash basket. Washed hands.
Put 2 veggie sausages and 2 tomatoes (halved, herbs sprinkled over) in the oven.
Bubble bath.
General getting ready for my day. Dry hair, choose clothes, perfume....
Cooked eggs, mushrooms and beans to go with the sausages and tomatoes. Timing is everything.

Gave the dogs a bath

Tidied the food cabinet and freezer in preparation for much needed grocery shopping...

Loads at the shop/workshop. Some much needed pricing up of items we sell.

Between us we put up 6 large, garage type hooks on the walls for bicycle tyres.

Wrestled with a bloody, buggery, bastid vacuum upon trying to empty it. The random 13yr old ended up putting it right for us.

Learned yet more about the settings for m'new camera

Finally put first batch of new pictures into iphoto.

The above, as well as the usual day to day stuff has been my day. Time to settle in for the night, get the heating on and dive into a big bath.

General chook care.
Helped out at a kids nativity (ages 1-3yrs) Much cuteness!
Sidestepped the huge table laden with all manor of fancy cakes, pies and pastries served afterwards. Go me!
Popped into ASDA for a few bits.
Unpacked shopping.
Cut up and bagged the tablet (http://scruss.com/tablet.html) I made yesterday, and ate two slabs. Totally undoing my earlier sidestepping of festive yumminess! Oops.
Caught up on paperwork.
General household puttering and pottering.
Phoned a local furniture donation service offering a dining table and 6 chairs. They are in good condition and have been looked after however, a couple of years ago I dismantled the chairs to wash the covers. When I stapled the covers back in place I omitted to replace the fire safety labels. There seemed no point. It is now illegal to give the chairs to a family who could make use of them and they wont take the table without the chairs.
Made a trip to recycling to dispose of the chairs (table goes tomorrow, my car is small) :(

So far, not much of anything but I'm making a late breakfast for my son and I --- Bacon, pancakes and eggs-over-easy + coffee.

It's a lazy weekend ahead, so the only thing to be done today is get ready for an annual Christmas party (decide what to wear) because that party is tonight.

Saturday & Sunday (same thing). :)

Come Monday, I'll be back home in bed: resting. ;)

My dream of having a beautiful guest bathroom is finally coming true.

With my BFF's help the soft blue walls are up. the sharp white trim is finished. The cabinet doors are dry and ready to go back up. Going to do a little artsy finish on them first

I so enjoy creating a beautiful space to think.....

The cute beach signs will go up last. need a new shower curtain. If i have energy left i might make a fabric curtain and just buy the liner. hummm. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Bought a lovely bamboo cabinet for Grace. It's shorter than my Caribbean cabinet and continues with my Tropical theme. Just need to take out useless tray and adjust doors.

Well i need coffee so tah tah for now

Fettled the boss' new laptop so it worked properly again after her (adult) son playing with it.
Changed tyres on another bike
Shopped for Chrimble gifts
Stopped off to take today's 365ish with one of the town's Chrimble trees
Done a little step work and about to do another half hour before running a big fat bath.

This past week, since last Sunday, I was busy all week long with housesitting duties (for friends) and ended up helping out their neighbors too, who spent the New Years holiday elsewhere. So today was my day to spend the day doing something nice for me and I pampered myself with a long bath, deep conditioning my hair and trimming it too. I even got dressed up, even though I wasn't going anywhere today. Then I made a lovely meal for supper tonight: I love to spend time in the kitchen.

But today also marks seven days I have coped with life by not smoking.

I almost hit lvl 90 in WoW on my second main character.
I boiled eggs for work.
I am almost done knitting the second skein of yarn for my scarf.

Yes, pretty productive day!

I also ate a brownie for dinner, on an empty stomach after taking metformin, so I also accomplished feeling miserable! And now I am starving :|

I set aside my fear this morning and began something that I have long wanted to do, but have been putting off because it requires that I put some level of trust in something other than myself. Historically, that has not been my forte.

However, I feel really good about having taken this step forward!

I'm also somewhat surprised to find myself blithely unconcerned now; in the knowledge that if it doesn't work, I can simply begin anew and head in a different direction tomorrow.

There was a icy sleety blustery day here in Houston so everything was shut down and I worked from home today.

Audited 15 cases for principle diagnosis selection
Wrote letters to 3 doctors who I would honestly rather smack senseless
Worked on RAC appeals for 3 cases
Read some articles from one of my professional journals
Took a nap
Drank like 2 pots of tea

If I would have gone in to work today I wouldn't have accomplished half of that AND I would have been wearing a suit and heels rather than pajamas, fuzzy slippers and a flannel robe (sexy).

Go grown up snow day!

Coordinated birthday party for person at work today. Played a good-natured prank on the birthday boy. I had to recruit 4 extra people and provide each one details about their particular part for the prank to be a success. Everyone executed their instructions perfectly. It was a success! :) After everyone left the birthday boy's office, he hugged me and said, "I knew it was you." Darn it, I have to come up with something more clever. They always know I am behind it.
