Finally wrapped up an audit of my 2015 state tax return. After months of faxing in documents and getting mail saying that it's never enough I had an official meeting with the tax people who said, ok, you're legit and everything is in order and everything you submitted was fine, you're good to go. Crazy making - the whole thing- including the mail I got about the appointment with them today that gave me GPS coordinates rather than a street address, no visitor parking at the building, signs everywhere that you'll be towed, on and on. I asked them at the meeting if they intentionally made this insanely difficult for people so that they won't fight the denials and surrender their tax returns. They didn't answer me. Whatever, I fought through it and came out on top.

I pretty much did as little as possible: But I managed to do a few chores around the house, the laundry is dried, folded and put away. I colored in my coloring book, for awhile. I send the pretty pictures to my eldest son, kind of like a home made card with a few interesting things to share about life, here at home.

Now that I'm pretty much caught up with chores, I'm going to sit tight here and read posts, then probably retire to the kitchen and see about making something to eat for supper.

I ate all of my chocolate, too. :)

I teamed up with staff at my nursing facility to submit invoices to my worker comp team, so providers of certain services will be paid fully for services.

Put my six-figure student loan debt in another round of year long deferment status.

Had an amazing session with the PT team, earlier today. I've been working on climbing up and depending stairs. Was terribly tired after my session, but so proud of my progress.

Really grateful for my team at work..... my boss and his wife dropped by to visit me earlier, meet the staff here, and gave me a card signed off by everyone at work (including a couple of interlopers from other agencies in our building). I gave them a brief tour of the facility... so my extra walking today counts toward my therapeutic goals of recovery.

I figured out what was wrong with the riding lawn mower.
It was the gaskets in the carborator bowl where the float is. The gaskets were worn out causing the fuel to leak out starving the carborator of fuel. On Friday I will go to the hardware store for parts and have the mower up and running soon.

Since the riding mower was down I mowed two acres with a push mower and trimmed the weeds around the house.

Now I will start prepping the turkey and sides for T-day.

I still need to tidy the house.

It was a blissfully low accomplishment day.

Got up early and shuffled paperwork/ checked off a small to-do list.
Met with a client.
Took my daughter out shopping for make up she wanted.
Took a power nap.
Cooked some food for tomorrow.
Had some good talks with wonderful friends.
Hopefully figured out the right move to get an ex to leave me alone.
Laundry.
About to go move exercise equipment out of storage and back around the house so it can get back to use.

I cant ride my horse much due to my disability but she still needs exercise so every other day if I cant ride, I lunge her. Today was a lunging day. I dont know who was more out of breath...me or her. Both out of shape! LOL.

Went to visit the grand child and played blocks with her. Until I have surgery to correct my hips, I cant sit on the floor..broke my heart when she asked me to sit with her on the floor. I was still able to play blocks from the couch tho

I woke up at my usual ridiculously early time, but made myself stay in bed and eventually fell back asleep...until my best friend's cats began beating on my door to feed them (I'm cat sitting while friend and her wife are vacationing)! I got up, fed dem katz, foraged out in the world for coffee (forgot that friends do not have a coffee maker), had breakfast, went for a hike and made my Thanksgiving dinner.

I ended up mowing my entire lawn - front and back (1/2 acre) - kinda by accident. I really was just trying to drain the gas (my idea of "winterizing") but the mower kept going and going. I really didn't think much gas was in it. I fought all summer with that damn mower to stay on for like 5 minutes at a time. Well, it doesn't hurt, lol.

Also, laundry, writing and other biz work, misc. chores.

Made Lentil soup, empanadas, and roasted beets.
Raked the lawn and finished putting summer things into the garage for the winter.
Laundry washed dried and folded
Thwarted some attempted arguments
Drove my kid around
Helped said kid with her resume
Emailed with my mom
Read my book club book, but not enough of it
Exercised

Slept in late...for me that IS an accomplishment...

Made myself a nice breakfast...pumpkin pancakes..

Did dishes

Cleaned counters, sink and stove

Learned to make crochet flowers which included a new (to me) stitch

Tried a new (Amish) bread recipe...and it came out AWESOME

Painted my kitchen backsplash...have to do something with it until I decide what all else I'm gonna do with it...

Deep cleaned as I went along the backsplash...

Reorganized and decorated the kitchen a bit more

Took down cobwebs and rehomed spiders so I could paint the hall ceiling...looks gooder already!

Dried laundry on the rack inside since it rained all day..

Put laundry away and organized my bedroom a bit better

I drove four hours to attend a meeting and conduct a site visit by boat. I then drove four hours home, I ate a burger while driving 75 miles per hour down the highway. It was a 14 day.

I came home to winterize my house in the dark because it is going to freeze in my area this week.

Is it Friday yet?

I woke up at 4 am full of energy this morning; it's now just after the noon hour and I am starting to slow down.

I got my Christmas cards addressed and mailed.

Took all of the clothes out of my "I-might-wear-this-later closet", washed, dried, folded and packed them into boxes to be dropped off at the donation center.

Cleaned the ceiling fans and light shades

Dismantled my new table saw and the stand, and boxed it back up. I am going to exchange it at some point today or tomorrow.

Marinated the chicken wings and have them baking in the oven with a couple of sweet potatoes.

Swept all of the hard floors, but still need to vacuum carpet.

Worked on a Christmas gift

Washed up the few dishes that were in the sink.

Seems there is always something that needs doing around here!

I worked at home today so in addition to putting in a 9-hour day with my career I did the following:

Laundry
Cleaned both bathrooms
Went through a bunch of cosmetics and products, organized them, and cut a big Target sack full loose to go to the shelter
Made a big pot of black bean chili (yes, I'm eating a ton of this lately but antioxidants and YUM!)
Started a no-knead bread that takes about 16 hours to rise and complete
Simmered a homemade sauce for veggie lasagna all day (red and yellow peppers, onion, garlic, fire-roasted tomatoes that I did myself, spinach, black olives, all kinds of spices, and YUM)
Worked on a sewing project off and on
Drank about 30 cups of hot tea
Worked on a super-secret project for someone special
Talked to Julie
Talked to Charma
Talked to JD

After much research I finally decided to bite the bullet and try my hand at brewing Kombucha tea rather than spend $4 per bottle for premade. I am doing it the slow way which involves growing the scoby myself so as to avoid paying $25 one. This way too, I know the sanitary measures taken and I can grow it to work with green and/or black teas. If it grows as it is supposed to, I will only have to do it once as each batch of Kombucha tea grows a new scoby. I will know in a couple of weeks if I succeeded in my efforts. :)

Cleaned kitchen and bathrooms before daylight

Cleared yards with Toro blower and so thankful I did not see any snakes. SIDENOTE: I questioned my mental health the day AFTER I caught that copperhead on DEC 26th but I had told myself prior to the live catch, I needed to catch the next one, research for myself that they cannot crawl up super slick surfaces. It is true, that one could never make it up the side of the 5 gallon water bottle even with extrodinary effort. About the mental stuff, I am somewhat of an adrenaline junkie and it made me feel quite lively during the catch phase. That next day, when my supervisor said I could not bring it inside the building for show and tell, that is when I starting wondering to self if perhaps it was not one of my keener ideas.

Disassembled several large very heavy wood pieces I scavenged from the industrial park ... wanted all the great, useable hardware from them and already have plans for it ... loaded all the resulting wood pieces from the breakdown on the truck to haul off.

Washed clothes on and off all day - kept that task going whenever I would come inside

Took dogs on four walks, plus did the set up for them to have numerous ice cube parties, they are so funny when I yell "ice cube party"

About an hour before dark, loaded 3 firearms onto the truck, drove to the dead end and into the thickly wooded hunting area where we walk ... I had a notebook, sat on the back of the truck and wrote on each target what caliber or which shotgun, how many feet to that target and exact brand/ load of shot... got measuring tape, walked off distance for each target and placed it in particular order to match how I loaded each firearm ... and by the time I was ready to shoot, it was getting dark, of course I forgot my flash light and head lamp ... though I could not see them, I became aware of having an audience - I could hear them walking around ... glad they came, I want them to associate me with loud bang noises ... anyway, I did some fast shooting, came back to the house, fed Jennifer, Kevie and myself ... put their portable foam mattress out on the ground and revived up their last ice cube party of this day for them ... we three sat outside under lots of floodlights, relaxing like that at the end of a wonderful day. It felt swell :)

Dusted the living room while I was on the phone

Cleaned & organized the pantry.

Washed dishes & wiped down all of the kitchen cabinets

Let's do it! Lol!

At one point, I worked for an office cleaning company, it was a breeze because we went in after the offices were closed for the day and ran through our routines with no one to bother us. Later, I worked for a place that cleaned kitchens and restaurants, it paid well, but it was a nasty job! But those experiences enabled me to learn a few tricks of the trade that make cleaning simpler and more organized.

If you lived closer I'd suggest starting a cleaning company. We'd be a dream team!

I actually got some sleep last night at work...so....

I came home with the hope and desire to do some yoga and cleaning...then the nice man came and reminded me that I needed to pay my electric bill. Well...guess I shouldn't leave that bill to my daughter either...

so

I went to the bank and got money for the bill, paid it

did my recycling while I was in the area

stopped and did my bulkier items at the laundromat. I don't have a dryer and some things need drying.

I did 2 loads of wash and hung them out to dry at home

paid my phone bill

raked my front yard

did some general cleaning.

remembered to shower after all of that...

Because of a record-breaking warm winter here, a controlled burn in the woods only thirty feet away from my B&B, is scheduled to occur here in an hour. I set up and filled with water, a long row of large containers along the entire length of the B&B, plus put out two garden hoses, and then drove to my local fire station 3 miles away, explained to them how a "burn" only 30 feet away from my B&B is a little too close, and asked for an emergency phone number to call them direct.

There was a big blowout last weekend at the music festival that I am one of the directors of when the general manager of a hotel that hosts part of the festival removed and refused our gender neutral bathroom that I had set up (with the approval of the event managers at the hotel)

Today, after a week of fighting back on multiple levels, I got it in writing and in contract that we will have two full size gender neutral bathrooms at their hotel during our festival next year.

I also kicked ass at my regular full time job all day.

I had to do all the top trim work and one corner

Then I washed both bedroom windows and their storms, screens, sills and frames

Vacuumed the bedroom with special attention to the edges and corners..

Cleaned up all the paint nonsense for now

Now need to get trash bags so I can get my daughter's things out of the closet and make room for my own.

Cut down all the azalea bushes on the front of my property. This time, I worked smart on the bushes. I have a lot of cable wire that I get from the cable company. They waste so much. They just throw it out.

Anyway, I tied each bush up really tight with the cable wire. Made it easier cutting with the chainsaw. The really big deal is I drag one huge wad of bush and throw on the truck. Less work and less bloodshed too!! WIN-WIN METHOD!!

Next I dug my trench around the front of the house. I will dose it up good next week (rain predicted tomorrow) with the vinagar, salt and Original Dawn Dishwashing Concentrate ... cover it over, then spray the top about 2 feet out from the foundation with same mixture. That will keep it free of any type vegetation for a very long time.

Bagged up four bags of pine mulch. Now that is hard work. Scraping the forest floor means removing eight to twelve inches in some places ... and it is wet, very yucky close to the ground. I just do a little section at a time.

Came across two snakes. Almost stepped on one. (near chit myself) Grabbed my snake-slayer and glasses. Once I put on my glasses, I could see coloring better and knew he was a good guy. Both were non-venomous so they continued to live.

I had a fun day just very tired now.

Last task, then we are going to bed. Jennifer and Kevin are sleeping now. They worked hard too! :) Will walk down to the hunting property shortly, dump a magazine into the woodpile - coyotes are back in numbers. I won't see any for a few weeks after I make all that loud racket down there.

Then bedtime! YAY BEDTIME! *laughing*

Put away heaping mounds of clean laundry. Im not even exaggerating

Went through various boxes along the way; organized them by owner and purged things I no longer need or want

Found my depression glass!!!!

Found the air pump to fill various things around the house.

Started putting boxes that have been holding vigil in the hall in the newly empty spare room closet.

Vacuumed as I went along

Made a good lunch

Did a lot of recycling

Getting stuff done in baby steps...

Tomorrow is moving my bed in my new room, painting the headboard and figuring out the layout of my new room.

As well as vacuuming living room.

Forgot to mention. ..and im rather proud. .I got an HD antenna and a universal remote for my TV. I managed to install and program them. I didn't even have to use tools. .but still so fulfilling :)

oh boy, what did i accomplish???

Well what started off as a great day came to a halt when i got to work. 9 hours of pure crazy. it will take 5 days to correct what took two days to complete, i did accomplish putting out one fire, but i have more to go, tomorrow is another day...

Power walked about a mile and a half at lunch...got to see downtown by foot which was a great break!

left work late, got stuck in a major traffic jam, missed my exit so my 15 minute commute was over an hour long (i trust the universe here)

took a LONG hot bath with some wonderful essential oils, shaved (including my large toes, because i like 'em smooth) washed and conditioned my hair, exfoliated, walked the dog, vacuumed the place, scrubbed the bathroom, dishes are ready to roll in the dishwasher (i rarely use it) and i have the rugs in the washer.

my mom called and put me through a very stressful convo and tried her best guilt trick in the book to make me feel bad about being here, but it did not work, nope it did not.

Gotta cuppa half calf and i am going to sit here for a while with my puppy dog.

ahhhhh :wine:

over the weekend, my teen age helper and I put together a 25' x 3' bed of berries. 6 blueberry plants, 2 red raspberry plants and 2 blackberry plants. He dug the trench, then filled it with the special soil and fertilizer I went and bought, then we planted them and mulched the entire bed. Additionally in other parts of the yard, we planted a lilac bush, a beautiful apricot foxglove, a few gayfeathers, 2 bleeding hearts and several pots of pansies. We cleared out winter debris, threw out yard furniture that has seen its better day, and scrubbed down the kennel.

I also took my grand daughter and daughter to a children's clothing store and bought a helluva lot of clothes for both grand daughters. They should be set now for summer.

Sadly, no. That's why I'm taking these classes. Shopping's more of a relaxing thing for me so it wasn't a struggle. I was tired when I got home, though!

I fixed the big mower and now it runs as well as it did when it was brand new approximately 10 years ago.

I just mowed 4 acres and now I need to trim around the house.

Bonus, I remembered to wear sun block. Yay!

lawd...I am tired.

I went to four garage sales. Bought a wooden screen door and had my young helper put it up today. Also bought a doggie gate, some clothes for the grand children, and some toys.

Went to Dollar Store, bought small pool and swim ring and get it set up for said grand child

Repotted brussel sprouts and tomatoes.

Planted 15 more peppers, 8 more punkins and a Roma tomato plant whose seed actually came from Rome Italy

pulled out many more large pots for more container gardening. Washed and started filling them with potting soil..ran out. Gotta go buy more soon

painted mine and my grand daughter's nails. LOL. Its so fun to have a little femme of a grand daughter!

I sort of got up late today, after finally falling asleep last night after 3am..... So, so far today, I've added fresh vegetables to my soup that is simmering on the stove. I added more fresh string green beans, shitake mushrooms, cloves of garlic and more organic veggie broth. I'm nursing a soup diet, for awhile. It's fairly delicious and filling, so I'll stick with it, for awhile....

I just took a nice long hot shower.

Mani and Pedi is next, while I listen to a song Playlist of hits by The Grateful Dead.

After awhile, I plan to catch up on a few small household chores.

Then have soup for supper, then snuggle up with my pillows in bed and read one of the books I've been trying to read.

Knocked out household stuff, laundry, some gardening. We walked to get lunch. Picked up peanut butter ice cream, and walked home really fast..lol

Been watching movies, playing in the craft room and just relaxing after a busy work week.

Dinner will be easy...Shrimp cocktails and a fresh fruit bowl. Peanut butter sundaes!!!! (Bought hot fudge, will be like a peanut butter cup. We have been talking about them all day..lol)

Took some pallets apart, removed nails, stacked boards to put in storage room - these are super nice boards, won't require much sanding, threw left overs on wood bones pile to be hauled away

Built a little cover for the dogs' water bowls so the water will stay cooler longer - lots of ice cubes help. I see the bowl gets empty quicker now and have to refill more often. I don't blame them for not liking the warm water when they are playing, running and wrestling so hard.

Mowed lawn in 30 minute spurts until it was done. Too hot to cut the whole yards all at once.

Went through some boxes I had been wanting to sort. Threw out a lot. Found 3 of my fossil watches from years and years ago ... in fact, 2 are from the 1990s. All they need is new batteries. And a favorite pocket knife from the 90s too. I had forgotten all about it. Without opening it, it felt really good in my hand. :)

It became dark not long after I finished mowing. I will load all the throw away stuff later.

I am all tuckered out and feel so good about todays accomplishments.
:)

I had to hard clean today. I have spent so much time playing with my grand daughter that I completely neglected the house. I am slap wore out.

I also placed an add for a housecleaning helper. And hired one. I decided I am at a point where bending, squatting, kneeling hurt way too much and that someone else can dust the table legs and clean the woodwork. I can do most of the work, but some things I now need help with.

I should be shocked that I am older and need help. Instead I am giggling and happier than hell that I finally can justify it! LOL

Spent most of the day on the phone dealing with hospital mistakes. Fortunately theirs not mine, otherwise it would have taken a long time to get another appointment. I had to book in March to be seen the second week in September last time and I just couldn't bear waiting another 6+ months more before learning whether or not I can go back to work. It's too the point that I just want to know, even if the answer is no because whatever the the case it would have to be better than the frustration of not knowing. Anyhow aside from the time spent dealing with that, I haven't done much else today. I spoke with MysticOceansFL earlier, she's all provisioned, safe. I'm almost afraid to watch the news for fear of what damage Irma might have wrought while I was away, but better to know than avoid it so that's what I'm off to do now.

My mom spotted me just in case.

I'm sitting here at my desk taking care of things I usually prefer to avoid. Go me!

Ran errands, cooked, cleaned, laundry, hung on the line to dry, tended to my butch spouse who isn't doing too good here lately, played with the dogs, read, talked to my sister, played on here, I think that's about it......

Well done, and go mom!

Today, let's see....

I moved someone new into my housing program early this morning and was so glad to do so because she has been hard working and homeless for quite some time.
I did normal work things like intakes and case managing and rent managements.
I played with my work baby and smiled a lot while doing so.
I put together a community meal for the women in my program and had a community meeting after the meal to get ready for some big fall events.
Came home, did animal care routine, and then sipped a much needed glass of wine while writing this post.

WHEW! Today I had to actually go in to work after working at home for the last several.

I made a bunch of appointments for anything from the dentist to the HVAC people.
I cooked a TON of food for the week when I got home.
I took out my trash and cleaned out the car.
I got my work inbox to ZERO (which is magic considering that I get about 200 emails per day)
I took a shower a did a pedicure.
I unpacked my suitcases and did the dishes.
I did a load of laundry and ironed.
I talked to my honeybun and 2 girlfriends.
I made a list of ALLLL the shit I'm going to do tomorrow.

And now? I'm having a very good glass of red wine. WEE.
