Nope, not crazy just determined to stay independent and active. :)

With your mom spotting for you? That's close to crazy. Glad she didn't need to make that call for help.

Even with 2 new knees you'd never get me up a 20' ladder. Too high :::shudder:::

This weekend I climbed a 20 foot ladder 4 times. This was the first time that I climbed that high since my knee replacement. Yay!

My mom spotted me just in case.

So far I mowed 4 acres of land and worked on my gardens.

I am currently working on laundry.

So far, I've cleaned both cat boxes and consolidated them into one, cleaned both scoopers and put one box and one scooper away (gradually moving Loki into the covered box as he was scared of it initially), swept the floor.....twice....I'm finishing a load of laundry now and have unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. The kitchen sponge has been nuked, the counters wiped and I'm finishing breakfast. Next up, getting ready for work, folding the clothes and going to work.

o.m.g! My sister and i finally got to our destination hours later!!! We got soooo lost and it was sooooo funny! I have never laughed so much in my entire life!! The journey there was the best when we finally managed to land it was almost anticlimatic...When we were coming back I purchased a little momento. I said, "Sis, I wanted you to remember our trip and xxx county..She looked at me rolling her eyes (she was driving) and said.."o.m.g I will never forget this ever!" and we both had a merry laugh in the middle of nowhere...fun guys :)

I have been lazy today.

I did clean the outdoor bbq grill. Then I cooked chicken breasts for my babies and about a dozen hamburgers. I took my neighbor a hamburger and chicken breast. Then I tore up one hamburger and one chicken breast into tiny pieces for each dog. Yelled "hamburger chicken picnic" out the back door and all three dashed inside like their butts were on fire. I laughed like all hell. They seemed to enjoy their food. I am eating two burgers with milk right now.

It is a good day to be lazy. May nap a little later. :)

I got up early to verify if my pool therapy appointments were still valid for the week, which they were, so I went to pool therapy.

After I got home, I went to the farmer's market and bought some fresh ears of corn, some big baking potatoes, peaches and some brown sugar.

Then I picked up my mail and got a special letter and card from Santa! Oooooh, I don't know what I'm gonna do! Caramel sauce and ice cream.....wish list items and Christmas delights!

So far? Well, in the last hour that I've been up, I've visited the restroom twice, put my hair up into my work bun, loved on the kitteh, fed teh kitteh (he insisted), gave kitteh fresh aqua and crunchies, played with teh kitteh again, kissed my Love, made my breakfast, weighed myself, washed teh kitteh's wet food dish, checked email and played online and I am currently nearly done with breakfast.

Today I did my usual morning chores, laundry, and scrubbed half of my spouse's wheelchair ramp. I ran out of deck cleaner and didn't feel like running in town for more since it was already almost 4:30, so I'm going tomorrow. Yesterday when I got off work I took a 3 hour nap and then we went to the beach.

Got out of the apartment
Took the bus to thrift store, handling cash, sat on seat, opened store's door without a napkin or paper towel
Searched through clothes having previously belonged to someone else
Tried on used shoes
Bought a book that a library had owned before
Got back on the bus
Paid my fare with cash
Sat on a public seat
Held onto siderail while exiting bus
Opening the outside door to the apartment building exterior

For me, this is an accomplishment. Especially since I did it by myself.

Cleaned out my craft area. I don't have a craft room, craft corner, even a craft table. I have a bookcase filled with a bunch of boxes stuffed full of things. Every time I want to work on something I have to move that box, pull this one down, shove these others around... I can't wait to get done setting up a dedicated work space so when I'm finished crafting I can just close the door and not have to worry about Monte getting into things.

Stopped at our local Dunkin Donuts :police:
Went to FILs house to visit
Assembled and put out solar lights in front of house (that I bought like a year ago...)
Assembled 60 treat bags for Halloween while the boy did yard work (spending Halloween at my FILs house)

Once laundry is done drying we are heading home for leftover Swedish meatballs and more of The Walking Dead. I vacuumed the apartment and did the dishes last night before we finished the puzzle sitting out on our coffee table.

Trip to farmers market.
Gassed up my truck (cheaper in SC than it is in NC!! Yayyy)
Made it home in one piece
Cooked crock-pot Speckle beans -n- ham, Two peach cobblers and two cornbread cakes.
Processed (cleaned and chopped using my new-to-me stainless steel outdoor butcher's table) and cooked four large bundles of collard greens.
Fried up pork tenderloin in a glaze made from apple juice, chopped apples and Mojito Lime spices. (OMG, YUMMMM)
Put up left overs for tomorrow and freezer, and prepared some to share with Mawmaw and deliver to a friend tomorrow.
Cleaned the kitchen until my bones said ENOUGH.
Somewhere in there, I fed all the farm critters and spent time with my furbaby.

It actually took me 2 days to. Tried to do laundry yesterday and it wouldn't work. Diagnosed the problem, bad door lock motor, called around for the part(this is why it took 2 days to fix it had to be order and took until after 330 pm to get here), order said part, took washer apart to replace the switch. 15 minutes tops. Took longer to find the tools then to actually take it apart.

Got home with said part and put it back together took about 45 minutes the dam spring that goes around the tub seal didn't want to go back in place. Finally got it started a load and NO water leaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So for $120 I just bought my moms washer and dryer and it isn't a top load washer it is one of those Whirlpool Duet steam washer/dryer combo.

I also accomplished ticking off my baby brother by getting said washer and dryer.:pirate-steer::pirate-steer:

Last night.....I talked with my oldest son by phone. He says he is fine, but I'm his mother and my motherly radar says differently. I'm going to send him a holiday card and put a little something extra in it, to lift his heart and brighten his day.

Today.... I don't have any plans, other than to make a special meal for myself, and keep myself entertained with creating an holiday card for my oldest son. I might go for a short walk, and say a few 'prayers' for my boys and a few close friends.... who feel not quite right..... "we're all just walking each other home (Ram Dass)", right?

Wash dishes, fix breakfast, wash dishes again. Gather garbage and loaded my truck and went to the dump. Then I drove up the road to an auction and they had already sold what I went up there for. Stop by the grocery store then came home and put my groceries up. Went to town and picked up two bales of hay for the goats and came back home again. When I got home I fed and watered the goats and the cats came inside and fed Skippy. All I have left to do now is fix my supper.

I found an awesome area rug, good quality, for $25 . I bought it and they helped me get it out to the bus stop. Luckily riders helped me get it on and off the bus. And when I got home, neighbors helped me by carrying it upstairs to my home.

Windstream Internet service techs and Direct TV "Loyalty Office" have kissed my ass in the past when I had to resolve issues, and/or get credits.

And when I had to contact the Corp office for my new car warranty several years ago...I told them "you're the third person I was transferred to in the last 10 minutes, by the time I get done explaining myself, the ONLY thing you're allowed to say to me is YES Ma'am".

Cleaned up the backyard some. Planted 2 more Autumn Blaze Maple trees. In the next 6 months to a year, I want to plant a dozen or so of those Japanese maples --- quite a variety .... plus sooner than that, plant several of the purple flowered fast growing shade trees in strategic areas.

Taking down all those tall pines around my house is taking the A.C. longer to cool things down to 65 to 68 degrees in warm weather. And some all different shades of wisteria vines down near the road. It will be easy to build very tall lattice - put numerous tall 4x4's in the ground with concrete, secure lattice to the rx4's. A kumquat tree in a large planter on wheels brings big anticipation every time I think of it. I love kumquats!!! :) Muskadine and scuppernong (spelling??) vines too. Few vegetables next summer! Especially tomatoes. Will have to put wire around edibles, even the top. I cannot share with all the wild critters. I would not get any of it!

Will run fence on and off some this afternoon after I drag a couple more logs from the back woods to the front by the road.

I am leisurely accomplishing things but not pushing too hard. Heck, might even fit a 45 minute power nap in there somewhere. I feel good and it is a pleasent day outside ... sunny and perfect. I could not be any happier. :)

Well not much worth of note will be happening around here today because I slept past noon. I wasn't really up all that late last night. Maybe it's just because my body needed some deep sleep, which hasn't happened in awhile. In any case not using it as an excuse to lazy out, know how much I can usually get done in a day from lunchtime to nighttime so determined to accomplish at least that. So far tided up the bathroom, ran some laundry, worked a bit on shopping list. Other than that not much else besides fix breakfast. Small dent, nowhere close to being done, and so the beat goes on.

Taking a break ... forgot to take ibuprophren (3 hours late makes a big difference) ... if I don't get rained out, I hope to get four 4"x4"x10' planted two feet in concrete in the ground. I have a new method, no jarring on the body and it is less tiring too. It takes a little longer but you do what you have to do to keep everything in tact. The pups have been out all morning helping me yank bushes with tow ropes out of the ground. I did notice Kevie taking frequent nap breaks but he stays close to the action. Jeffrey, his normal self, grabs pieces of scrubs after they are out of the ground before I have time to get out of the truck and throw them on the bed. Seriously, they are all over the front yard right now. I cannot keep up with his messy traits. I will let him have his fun ... then do one clean-up at the end of the day. Jennifer just wants me to remember to tell her how pretty she is ... needs it verbalized often. LOL!

I found it! I bought a unique bookcase and I went back to the store a while back to see if they had another one but they didn't. An employee told me they have that style of bookcase often and to just keep coming back as the one I wanted would eventually make its way back into the store and today it did! So now I have twin bookcases. I also bought a small dresser that I'd been eyeing for a couple of weeks now since I likely won't go back to that store for a while as I finally got what I was looking for.

The list of things that I haven't accomplished is much longer than what I did but I did hit the bank up, go to the furniture store twice and I got groceries and shopped for work as well.

Before bed, I'll do a load of laundry and take out the trash. Honestly, that's probably going to be it. I'm not feeling very motivated today.

Yesterday, I took the day off from work - so I could go by DMV, see my insurance agent, pick up a few more tall boxes, bought some new curtain rods to go with beautiful curtains that were given to me, and picked up the keys to the studio, then marveled at the beautiful sunset (late last night).

Today, I'm up early, waiting for the mover's to arrive, they should be here soon. Then my next task, with the help of my friends here in town, is to put my studio together and then watch another sunset tonight. We have pearly skies right now, but the clouds should burn off soon, by noon, and the weather should be fairly warm. Cool by late evening (hopefully).

I rose early so I could get a head-start on helping my sister-in-law get some of their family's household chores caught up, while they're on vacation. I've got their laundry caught up, monkey'd around with the auto-presets for watering and managed to solve the timer issue - so the property gets rounds of watering sets late in the evening, and the kitchen is sparkling clean.

Before too long, I plan to take a long shower and get dolled up for an afternoon drive to go shopping and visit with family friends who are in town.

Right now tho, I'm taking a break and listening to CBS Sunday morning news stories on TV, and sipping on a cup of herbal tea, while Petunia sits by my side purring. :balloon:

It was yesterday: I zeroed in on an opportunity to be of service to an VIP visiting our work campus; I bought delicious cupcakes at a specialty bakery to give to my office work team and took them to work today for breakfast; I remembered to put more oil in the motor, just in the nick of time; and because I want a better type of work environment and better pay, I applied for a job I once applied for, back a few years ago (maybe I will find myself working there soon).

Today, I just found ways to smile, smile, smile …. They say that they 'universe conspires on our behalf to give us what we want or need', so I basked in that type of mindset today, manifesting what I want for life by smiling.

Met with temporary relocation specialist. The new owners have received a 19, close to 20 million dollar grant to upgrade the property. Work on our building is going to begin on the 19th of September and we won't be able to get back in until late on the 27th, providing all goes well which with construction work you just never know.

Since my unit hasn't had any serious repairs/upgrades in the 10+ years I've been here it's getting a major overhaul. Not all units are so I'm pretty happy about mine being one of those selected. However my sons, concerned about the area want me to move away from here and closer to them where things are safer. Which makes sense.

My lease is up in October, so I'm looking, so far no luck finding a place accepting vouchers but I have managed to get on one wait list and have a bunch of others to call on and maybe some to take a look at next week. Also J is going to speak to someone she knows who has two rentals and see if either are available or will be shortly.

I spent a lot of time apartment hunting and packing today because wether I wind up staying here or moving elsewhere I still have to have things ready for the movers so they can haul it off to storage in order to be able to do the work. All sorts of people are moving, even if it means breaking leases, things are a mess here and likely will be for awhile.

Last night I did some more research concerning the apartments I'm on wait lists for. One has a much longer wait list than we were told. The other has some bad reviews I wasn't aware of. However I've been here a lot longer than I cared to and it hasn't killed me yet. Also, the place I'm in now had bad reviews before I moved in and other than some smashed in pumpkins and missing decorations a couple of Halloweens it's nowhere near as bad as people said it was.

Anyhow we went to see about getting my name on a wait list for some still being built. It turned out I didn't have to go on a wait list because they had a one bedroom left. Just one still up for rent. Very surprising because they had an open house about a week ago for people to sign up which I didn't know about. Usually there are far more people applying than there are apartments to rent. I was sure they'd be gone by now and the wait list a mile long. I'm still having a hard time believing this is really happening!

Today marks 3 months and 23 days since I moved to my new home and although I still have boxes yet to unpack (I had a lot of stuff !! :cheesy: :| ), I am feeling a sense of accomplishment that I managed to leave a really bad neighborhood behind, when I didn't think I'd have the nerve to do it.

Sometimes, as one nears an elderly type age, it's not easy to pick up and start over. I used to do it all the time, move to new places, just to enjoy new surroundings. Moving last June was the best thing I've done in years, so I feel a big sense of accomplishment over doing just that (moving to a safer neighborhood).

Depending on what happens next year, I may move yet again.

I survived the brick challenge. That’s where I get to load and unload the decorative brick and hump them thru the yard to the back end of it in 95 degree heat while my sister watches. Her stupid bricks pfft!

Tomorrow I go in for an hour to deposit registerfunds and pull harddrive. There is some miscellaneous things to finish as well. Then I have a Chinese food lunch date🍜🍣🍤🥢

Drove over to my fav washeteria, to do laundry and visit with my elderly butch friend. She is a hoot, for sure.

Then after that, I dropped by the beauty supply for licensed professionals, and picked up a bunch of my favorite hair products and some Redken highlighting powder and 40v developer (so I could color my hair with fresh highlights).

Came home, made lunch, put the laundry away.

Sat for a spell. :)

Then... I went to the craft store, since I had 40% off coupons. I found a couple of Pumpkin ceramic pie dishes to give to my sil-bestie and her mom for all the sweet things they've done for me and two fall autumn leaf laurels, then took them over to my sil's house.

Then, I dropped by my favorite grocery store and bought some fresh strawberries and breakfast cereal's and a few Caesar salad packs for salads to take with me to work, this coming week.

Came home, put it all away.

Then made one last trip to the gas station to fill up the gas tank and get a car wash and wax, so my car looks better and is clean and shiny.

Got all my Saturday household chores done too (vacuumed, mopped the hardwood floors, cleaned the bathroom etc).

What a bizzy day. *LOL* (or not).

Tidied up kitchen, did some dishes, made the bed, organized the pantry, cleaned fridge, did a little laundry but mostly just lazed around, lounged around petting Monte and watching television. I'm feeling under the weather and Monte seems down, in need of extra attention and reassurance on account of the move. It was a low key day.

Today I finished making this place caseworker inspection worthy. I already had my yearly review but anytime you move it triggers a new assessment. Anyhow I spent yesterday and today boxing up everything I'd unpacked and couldn't find a home for (almost everything) then used those boxes to get an idea of what furniture I'm going to put where in the bedroom. So many stacked together for a tall dresser, so many grouped together for a low, long dresser, this many to represent a chair – like that. Now I have a really good idea of what pieces of furniture will fit where, how to arrange/group things together in order to make the most of the space I've got. I told my son not to tell J so I can surprise her. She's coming over tomorrow thinking she's going to help me with the huge ass mess it was. Instead I'm going to reluctantly agree to get started on it telling her okay but only if we go out to breakfast afterwards. After she agrees, when she opens the door expecting to see a mess and instead sees it's all done, I'm going to say – I'm hungry now!!! Feed me!!!!!!

GeorgiaMa'am, that is an enormous accomplishment!

Lots! Kept 2 burn barrels going. I am cutting logs into thin slices. Also, dumped some used motor oil on a stump ... I was working this stump in April 2018 ... then my back went out (several ruptured discs) ... so I had to quit. I am doing great now. No surgery. Pain is not worth mentioning anymore. I can do anything I want but I am super careful about lifting heavy objects. I make sure I make my core is rock hard before the lift. Magic!! LOL! Actually lots more core building P.T. at home regularly has helped a lot.

By tomorrow evening, I expect that stump will be ready to cover with dirt and forget! YAY! :) I only have two more in the backyard to get rid of ... all the ones in the woods can rot. Stumps are a burden. The work is too hard if you don't have a stump grinder.

Happy tonight! Much progress this weekend!

I went shopping: bought a few groceries, bought a couple of silk scarves and a beautiful pair of earrings; and then I stopped to get a manicure/pedicure at the spa. I decided to just go with a natural manicure, instead of doing the gel overlays on my real nails. My nails feel better now, thank heavens.

Oh, and I bought a beautiful ring for myself today too. It's handmade, and it's Italian enameled artwork (in Ivory or Aqua) depicting a turtle swimming among the coral reef (it has crystals, too, it's very sparkly and pretty). It is a Sterling Silver ring. I got it for my middle finger on my left hand. I had to get it sized to fit, though. It should be back by NYE.

Here's what the proceeds from Sea Turtle Ring goes toward: "At Belle Étoile, we are constantly inspired by the beauty of nature and we are committed to helping protect this beauty for generations to come. Through the sale of the Sea Turtle Collection, Belle Étoile is supporting the work of the Sea Turtle Conservancy, helping sea turtles all over the world. Thank you for your support." Here is what it looks like: Belle Etoile Jewelry (https://belleetoilejewelry.com/products/sea-turtle-ring?_pos=1&_sid=9b0f7bb86&_ss=r)

And...., I had my therapy visit today, somewhere in between all that shopping. I'm so glad my therapist can see me on Saturday's now.

Good for you! Me too!

Quite a few years ago, I realized that my family was not ever going to create the kind of MGM-Hollywood Christmas I wanted. So I started my own traditions, and some of them have lasted* and some have not**. But I have plenty of Christmasy-ness - and my family of choice - to spend them with now. Today, for example, I am hanging up Christmas cards and wrapping gifts with elaborate trimmings (no bags here - unless of course someone doesn't deserve extra fancy wrapping).

(*Examples of traditions that have lasted: baking cookies; giving randomly to some person who needs it; giving to charities; sending Holiday cards.

** Examples of traditions that have not lasted (and good riddance!): baking a huge, multi-course traditional meal for my biological family who will plow through the whole thing in 20 minutes and not appreciate it; and giving everyone in my biological family "extra", funny white elephant gifts, trying to jolly them into the Spirit of Christmas.

Nervously watched the high wind and rain whip around the tree canopy a few yards from my windows — the squirrel nest hung in there!

Looked online for bird boxes and read about them — the kind you put out in the winter not for nesting but for roosting in cold weather.

A bunch of birds at one time, even different species, will sit on the little ladder inside.

The entrance hole is at the bottom of the front panel, so their body heat will rise and stay inside.

In the spring, you switch the front panel so the hole is at the top, letting the hot air out, and they use it for nesting. When I order one, I'll affix it somehow to the wall of the balcony.

Everything else I did today pales next to my self-tutorial on bird boxes and storm watching.

I also played some Spider Solitaire and was mostly successful in finishing each game under 4 minutes, which is my personal marker as to whether it was 'successful' or not. I weighed myself and put my hair up in a ponytail.

Currently, I'm working through my email notifications here and am contemplating having dessert after brunch. Eventually, I'll make my way to actual work and house chores but for the time being, I'm happy doing a whole lot of not much.

I think it foolish to run the central a.c. and cool the whole house that cold. Anyway, I was irritably hot, ended up with skin torn off 3 knuckles when I gave it a good smack ... this caused it to almost fall out the window ... I was inside when I hit it and was fortunate to catch it .... very heavy, brought on a lot of swearing, grunting and farting to pull it back to safety.... it is fine now, freezing us like usual, Jennifer and Jeffrey are covered up with a blanket ... it was just a funky setting I was unaware of ... they hid that info from me in the owner's manual ... duhhh

After work, I made appointments with the doctor and with the DMV. Seems everyone requires an appointment these days . . .

A lot. But I'm too tired to list it all.
Main thing was driving my roomie to the Dr for his follow up.
2nd thing was to find a Publix to buy goat milk yogurt for my old furbaby.
After letting my Tundra idle at each location I needed to stop at, it needed a special cool down under the shade with the hood up for a while.

But with an appointment, it will probably be the fastest you'll ever be in the DMV.

As for myself, I've accomplished barely anything at all other than cooking up 4 delicious burgers and washing some dishes. I made myself house presentable as well. Nothing as fancy as public presentable but good enough to walk in front of the open window blinds.
