I bought a Starbucks mug for my babe that has white dogs on it with a big green tennis ball. We have a white German Shepherd, and it reminded me of my white Aussie named Kelpie who passed away, so it was perfect! <3

You got that right..lol
Yesterday, I bought my mom a casual dress from El Mercado in San Antonio. That is a first, I hope she likes it.
Normally I wouldn't post in something like this. But, I really dig my purchases today! (Uhh, minus the Tylenol arthritis pills.) So, I bought a really nice warm quilt and the first in the series of Outlander books. Originally, went to get a few books by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but saw Outlander and so that went out the window. Can't wait to get all comfys under my new blanket and start the series. 😃

Treats and dog food for Sadie, both grain free.
Oh and gas for the truck. I got it free because I used $20 in gift cards that AAA sent to me for an extremely minor screw-up on their part. Plus, I had already earned 10¢ off per gallon, so basically I got $20 of free gas at $1.99 per gallon. Works for me! :batman:

You know, in case you want to win Christmas.

It all began because I needed some Clorox, so I hopped in the truck and drove to the neighborhood Family Dollar. Once I got in there I remembered that I still needed to get Miss Sadie some stuffed babies for Christmas. She already has an entire cooler (that's her toy box until we need it for camping) full of babies, but she still gets new ones to unwrap every year. $42 later...
Clorox- an unbelievable $4.00 for a gallon. That's just crazy but I refuse to buy the store brand of bleach, it's not the same strength.
A small thing of laundry soap because I need to do a load tonight. I ran out of my homemade soap and do not feel like making it tonight. - $5.35 (This is one reason I make my own)
A pack of new scouring pads for the kitchen and bathroom - $1.55 for an 8 pack
2- Awesome swivel bottle brushes for $1 each for cleaning my canning jars and some of my juicer parts.
1- role of cheap wrapping paper for Sadie's presents -$1
3- battery operated flickering candles for the 3 front house windows. -$1 each (That's the extent of my decorating. Oh wait, I did change my computer Windows background to Christmas decorations)
5- presents for Sadie. 4 stuffed and one rope toy - $1 each. Oh and a red sparkly Christmas bow collar for her too. It's actually a red sequined headband & bow for women, but it works fine for this too. - $2
2- 12 packs of Cokes that were on sale. I forget how much they were, I think 2-for-$9
A perfect sized square tin that I can fit 4 of the regular altoid sized tins into, all of which make up my fire box which holds my t various tinders and fire starting implements for camping, bugging out or what have you. -$1
A round tin of Danish style butter cookies- $2
Invisible tape- $1.65
The secret to these so called dollar stores is either stay out of them completely or stick to buying only the dollar items, which I did not do today.
:( Oh well.

This morning? This chair. I'm pretty heavy and I have a tendency to shift positions a lot (from crossing legs to leaning forward to reclining to just plain slouching), so I'm hard on chairs. I'm dropping a lot of money on building a computer at the moment and am thus not ready to drop $500-$1000 or even more on a Herman Miller, Steelcase, or Humanscale with a 12-15 year warranty, so I grabbed a chair that gets "bang for your buck" awards at $415 while it was on sale for $172.05 after tax. Also I can remove the arms to make room for crossed legs.
Yesterday: I bought copies of Undertale (http://store.steampowered.com/app/391540/) for a couple of friends (on top of a third one back on the 15th). Amazing game, low price ($10 normally, $8 on sale). Perfect digital stocking stuffer.
The day before yesterday: a 650-watt EVGA GQ computer power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438059) for the computer I'm planning on building. It's new enough that customer reviews aren't in yet, but the experts who actually took electrician's testing tools to the thing and disassembled it to find out the quality of the components gave it rave reviews. A good mid-wattage-range power supply can easily run $100 or so, and I scored it at a grand total of $61.50.
Back on the 16th: a 250GB Samsung solid-state drive (http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=104175&vpn=MZ-75E250B) on sale for eighty bucks and free shipping, also for the computer I'm planning on building. It's basically a hard drive with no mechanical parts that is insanely fast and reliable as a result: we're talking stuff like booting to desktop in five seconds, a mean time before failure measured in millions of hours, and an annualised failure rate of like half a percent, at least for this brand and series (Samsung is one of the leaders in the field).

Yesterday while secondhand shopping I found several yards of Yooshin black velvet fabric for less than I would expect to pay retail for one yard of modern velvet. :)
Tonight I'm online window shopping and trying to decide between disposable N-95 and P-100 respirators. It's like shopping for gravel all over again - this is so boring. :(

I don't know what this means but it sounds like a good thing, so congrats! Can't go wrong with thrift or secondhand stores.

Yooshin is just a brand/name of a company that has been making velvet fabric since I think it was the 30's. It's not expensive velvet; pure silk velvet can cost hundreds of dollars a yard. And better blends can be spendy too. This is likely just some sort of cotton/synthetic blend but it's got a nice rich color, is soft - feels very nice. It's dress velvet fabric. I'm not sure what velvet comparable to this is selling for in stores today. I just know things like panne, stretch velvet, low end crush velvet, some low end velveteen fabrics run around 5-6 dollars a yard retail and they are not anywhere near as nice as this.
Since I have about 7 and ¾ useable yards here and paid $6.98 I think it was a good deal however for someone able to buy wholesale this probably wouldn't have been as good a deal for them as it was for me. Right now modern versions of this same velvet - by buying in very great bulk, wholesalers might very well be able to get similar fabric for around the same low price per yard, I'm not sure, close though I'm thinking.
Anyhow I have no idea what I will do with this much velvet but I'm going to use some to make some satin lined, silk corded drawstring bags like some people put their tarot cards in or carry crystals, semi-precious gemstones, other trinkets, amulets around in, for my son to take up to barter fair and see what happens.

oh, the bargain you found! I was thinking small handbags, trimming a pocket, even adding a cuff of velvet to a pair of black jeans. I love searching for older clothing that I can take apart for the fabrics! You truly found a treasure, said one fabric lover!
