There is a bit of a story to go with my purchase, so please bear with you as I share "back story".

Have you ever heard of color therapy? okay well... a few years ago my daughter was burnt. Nasty. A friend of mine, a color therapist, said to put her arm under a special blue light. She provided me with said lamp and color. I rolled my inner eye. But gratefully accepted the gift... which I WHOLLY did not think would work. Well it did. Where the light hit her arm through a series of treatments the burns healed faster than the rest and the scars were significantly different. She was young, she is now healed and where there are scars is beautiful skin.

Anyway, back to what I bought. I was reading Linda Goodman's Star Signs last Saturday (hang on, the story does continue shortly) about 'fatties' (Oddly I was not personally offended, not sure why??) needing red light in their auras. To use a red light bulb (wait that is familiar), but it has to be ruby red, not orange red. And to buy ruby red glasses and leave it full of water in the sun and drink the solar water. She indicated in her book these may be hard to find. What do I know I drink out of jars, they work really well. My weight loss journey has included much healing... interesting additional healing approach me thinks...

I traveled 400 kms to Jasper in the Rocky mountains today, a beautiful four hour drive. It was rainy and cool and very little tourist traffic. My friend and I popped into one store, not a really random idea in a tourist town, and in the back, hidden near the floor in the 50% off cabinet were 4 dusty ruby red glasses and a ruby red glass water jug. They are beautiful. It cost me a whopping $30.

So, is that a sign or a coincidence or like nothing???

Today I took two bags of books and cds to the used bookstore and got $25 in credit and two books. First one is "the Harvey Girls: Woman Who Opened the West", and the second one is Irshad Manji's "Trouble With Islam" (Islamic Feminism)

And then I went to a thrift store and found several silk blouses and a $10 bag of yarn. It had some nice yarns that I'd never heard of, two rolls of Noro Silk Garden in a matching dyelot and some plain old acrylic/wool filler.

After that I went to the grocery store and got Tim Tams, vinegar, sushi, strawberries, avocadoes, sushi, butternut squash soup, tomatoes, cilantro, macadamia nut cookies, onions and Herding Cats wine. I should've gotten another bottle of wine. This one will last me a few months (because I only have a glass every now and then.) but it's very very good!

Oh, and then I stopped for chocolate too. My favorite import store had these truffles in that I really really like.

So I stopped at Albertson's after work for a gallon of milk. I went down the cereal aisle to get to the milk cooler and remembered that I'm almost out of Toasted Oats (Albertson's version of Cheerios. I actually like the flavor than "real" Cheerios. They seem to taste oatier...). So I grabbed a box of Oats, too. Then I decided that I needed bananas, because I like bananas in my Oats. So I wandered towards the registers, heading down the ice cream aisle. July is Frozen Foods Month at Albertson's. No idea why. But Blue Bunny is on sale! And they had Toasted Almond Fudge! And now I have Toasted Almond Fudge...

All that for a gallon of milk.... :|

I got some other stuff too, but that was the best thing...

OH--I also got a pint of the most wonderful organic cherry tomato mix...they are like tomato candy, which might sound disturbing, but really isn't...

I bought the price of my jury application for the ACC...and paid some taxes on bag sales...

mostly I am glad about the water....and the application fee...

I gave away the brownies I made last night, guess that doesn't count as what I got but more as what I gave...

:canoworms: I have learned there is nothing cheap in this world. Nothing. I got a "cheap" truck camper to put on my truck. HAH! Can I say it again? HAH! That $100 camper has cost me $100s of dollars! I have had to fix it, then add shit to my truck to hook it to. NOW I am told (as I go to pick truck up) that I need extenders because its a dually! I cant even slide the damn thing on and off without them!

I am sorry I even agreed to take on this camper. It SOUNDED like a great idea. Oh boy, I can finally go camping without having to do a tent and sleep on the ground! For about the same price as a tent! OH BOY!!!

A new laptop. My old one had seen better days and it was only 5 years old.

A Kindle. I finally got talked into it.

A wireless printer. Have always wanted one and I got a good sale.

And today I bought a subscription to this site.

A chicken burrito from Chipotle ...
...which I did not enjoy and only ate a few mouthfuls because I was hungry. The rice had too much cilantro and lime. Which I might have realized I wouldn't enjoy if I'd read the entire menu board -- (which clearly states "cilantro and lime rice") -- before ordering.
Also, the restaurant was loud because evidently the franchise is too poor to install carpeting. OK, no, I get that it's a marketing/presentation thing with their bare bones aesthetics and "simplistic" furnishings. But I didn't like it. The chairs were uncomfortable. The room echoed. And the damn place doesn't even MAKE queso dip. WTF? :hk12:

I ate there once. No thanks. The more rice you put in a burrito the less meat you have to put in. Bare bones is right. I like my rice and beans on the side. Meat cheese and sour cream go inside. They slap a salad and rice together roll it in a quesadilla call it a burrito and charge you 15 bucks for it. It has little to no flavor except overpowering lime. Somebody forgot to tell them, lime is for Corona's, not rice. Think it was the worst burrito I ever ate. They have better food in a vending machine.

A week-long holiday in a cottage on the Cornish coast, to be taken at the end of October when the majority of tourists have gone home.

Just U/us, the dogs, and mile upon mile of beautiful beaches, fantastic views, and some of the quaintest villages in England. (AND W/we even get to take the dogs into the majority of local pubs and restaurants.)

Heaven.

Ms/Mr Popcorninthesofa,

They offer fresh running water for cats 24/7 - it encourages them to drink more water, helping to keep them healthy. I have two; 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs (I have 5 cats).

Drinkwell and Cat-it are American made - in my personal opinion Cat-it are the best and easier to clean.

Also purchased a pair of men's Hugo Boss jeans - happened to walk by a clearance counter and see they were marked down from $145.00 to ... get this ... $24.99 ... I would never buy them at regular price. They fit and look great - can't wait to wear them! :)

4 brand new baby shower gifts for 99 cents each! On Ebay!

plastic carpet runners for my dining room. Rat dog, Bartock the chihuahua, has taken to using the back of the room as his personal "spot". after rug cleaning and dousing and drying vinegar galore all over it, I went to the dollar store and bought plastic runners and laid them down there. Crossing my fingers and hoping it works...

DeWALT heavy-duty 3/8 inch keyless chuck corded drill

This 7 AMP model has a pistol handle. A hard case came with it. It is just an average drill and perfect for my needs. The drill I have had for over 20 years still works but I am so tired of keeping up with the chuck key - usually me who misplaces it but today, my female bully hid it ... then I had to play the game of "let's go find the chuck key" ... she always buries my stuff in the same place. I make the game longer for her by not going directly to it. We walked all around the backyard and I kept asking her, "do you think it is over here?" Her tail wagged so hard. HELLA NOTE ... Kelly hides my chit and then helps me hunt for it.

3 bags of rock salt, in readiness of the impending winter weather. I do not want to do a Bambi impersonation on my driveway again. Never a dignified look.
