RockOn, I figured it had to do with your siting on one of your guns but I just don't understand hunter/hunting speak very well. It's just not what sparks my fuse but it sure sounds like you enjoy the heck out of it, so good on you.
Now, if you want to talk crafty things, I'm all ears.
To be thread compliant, I bought this (https://www.talentigelato.com/product-category/talenti-gelato-flavors) today. Well, technically, I bought the coconut almond chocolate flavor but it's the same stuff. All good!

Hey Gemme, I don't understand the concept of going hunting. When I was in early grade school I went with Charlie (my father) or grandfather but they were not really true hunters.
For me, I do not have any desire to shoot deer, birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc but I will shoot any venomous snake in a heartbeat with no guilty feelings at all. NONE!
Target practice is a hobby which I enjoy immensely. And it keeps me skilled. Plus there are so many different cool add-ons you can install on firearms. I am a true sucker for a gadget.
I like to read when you post about your crafts. Interesting to me ... I admire people who can do things like crafts because I haven't one artsie bone in my body. There is a lady down the street who can sew anything. Plus, she is always doing artsie crafts too. The other day she was talking about a weekend two weeks ago when she did a marathon sewing weekend. She said her eyes were very tired at the end of it. She is another one like you, blessed with the crafty talent.

Yesterday, I bought some groceries for the week. I took advantage of the reduced price baked goods and produce and scored some cherries, fingerling potatoes and Stonefree naan for very low prices. Sometimes I forget that the grocery store has those. It's a win win!
I also got some sriracha horseradish, peach pomegranate jam, a small tin and an organizational hanger for inside a kitchen cabinet at Marshall's too. I had a gift certificate and only went a couple bucks over. Win!
Triple win for the day!

Nothing so far but thinking I may go back to ebay tonight and see if that seller still has more of the brand new Crimson Trace CMR-206 green lasers like I bought couple weeks ago. Dirt cheap for a green one ($111.00) and you turn it on/off yourself when you want to use it. It is not activated by squeezing the grip on the firearm. I like this CMR-206 manual style better.

Curtains! Well the package says blackout drapes but that is a lie, they're curtains. Actually today I only bought one curtain panel. Yesterday at the thrift store I found a brand new panel, still in it's original packaging, that I really like. I picked it up because I knew if I couldn't find another I could always do a little altering and use it on the smaller window in the bedroom. Well I found plenty online but the point of thrift store shopping is to luck out on a bargain right? Anyhow with a little more searching I found a panel to match that was even less expensive than those on Ebay or at the big box megalomart. I didn't have to make a special trip, drag around town to pick the second one up, or buy more than what I needed to get free shipping. All together I saved almost half off. Just 70 cents more than exactly half off so I'm pretty pleased and that's my today's happy place. :)

I did not buy it but have been looking at a Lincoln Electric welder.
Been reading this book: Fabrication and Welding Engineering by Roger Timings
plus couple of other books on welding
I have not ever done any welding but have wanted to learn for a years. Be a very useful skill for me to acquire. No less than once a month, something comes up around here and I wish I already had a welder and the experience to use it.
One day when I am all finished with this pine tree mess and have my yards like I want them, I will have time to leisurely do many other things that will be whole lots of fun.
:)
I hope I never lose my desire to learn how to do new things. Sometime in the future, I will make a dragger to hook to the truck ... it will scrape the forest floor. The idea is already formulating. Something along the lines of:
fill 5 gallon water bottle with concrete and put many strands of rebar through it ... the rebar will need to stick out from the concrete several inches for it to be effective
I have watched numerous cool DIY videos on this but they all require welding. I believe the concrete and rebar thing I came up with will work too. Be interesting to make and find out.

wedge bed bolster for legs ... my physical therapist has one and it reduces the sciatic pain when he puts it under my legs .. I had bought one but it turned out crummy ... I can tell these are THE ONES
9 quart 3-tier vegetable steamer ... I loved my old one but cannot remember if I lost it or broke it when I moved ... since it was acrylic, I probably broke it ... good thing this one's baskets feel rubberized ... going to begin eating fresh vegetables all the time ... enough already Beanie Weenie and cardboard pizzas ... *waving bye bye* LOL!

Back in 2008, right as I graduated with my bachelors degree, the economy tanked, I couldn't find a good paying job to save my life (proverbially), and I had two credit cards that lapsed into collections. Yesterday, I paid them both off, and for an lesser amount than I thought. Those were the only two negative things on my credit report, so they're taken care of now and it feels good that I could do that.
Today, I bought a bunch of fresh organic vegetables, end of season berries (organic too), and for a good price, considering how expensive it's getting to buy food.
I'm feeling pretty lucky lately, and I don't take it for granted.

I did an ancestry kit a couple of years ago and it was really interesting! I found out that my lineage was not what I was told growing up. For some, that could really rock their world but I laughed. When I told my dad that he wasn't 100% Italian; that my percentage is not high enough (and there's absolutely no chance he is not my father and she is not my mother...I'm VERY both of them physically and emotionally), he told me, "It's your mom's fault. Something went wrong on her side." lol Yeah, okay. It's basic 8th grade genetics but whatev, Dad.
As a treat, I found out I was Irish. I didn't expect that but it explains my skin and how it responds to the sun. I thought I was Asian but I'm not. Not even a teeny weeny bit. My almond shaped eyes come from either the Portuguese or the Native American in me. Both are small percentages but it's a dominant feature and the only thing that makes sense.
I'm also West African. This didn't surprise me at all. There's other stuff in there too. I am, literally, a woman of the world.
As for finding siblings, you can opt out of having your results made public and, therefore, linkable.

I've never committed a crime (ok, misdemeanors only.) I am adopted. There's no way in hell I'm giving my DNA to a company whose records can be subpoenaed; right now, they're just giving the information away. It really surprises me people are willing to do this.

It was an easy decision for me. I was a little concerned about putting my DNA out there, but more than that I wanted to know where my people are from.
I took both 23andMe and Ancestry and am glad I did. 23 gave me more details about my European ancestry and gave me a health or wellness report.
Ancestry gave me more details about my African ancestry. Both reports were the same, but the depth of details were different. I guess more European descendants are at 23 and more African descendants are registered at Ancestry?
I understand your hesitation, especially since this is the beginning stages of these DNA reports being used to catch suspected criminals, but it doesn’t bother me, at least not as much as me not knowing more about my ancestors.

I have to make a run to Lowes, Home Depot and Tractor Supply today. Lowes has a great sale on a 1200 vehicle battery charger/tire inflator/inverter. I bought it online yesterday before they sold out. Received an email it is ready for pick up. My old Sears Diehard Platinum 1100 died. Actually, it is only the battery ... thinking about buying just a new battery for it. It is a really good one but the brand new 1100's have become too pricey. I keep one of these in my truck. What a life saver they are!! I don't feel safe without one. Off the main road, this several miles long pig trail road to my home is poorly paved, has faded out centerline and side paint, zero lights except for an occasional home, hilly and very curvey.

I bought another book, while I was out on errands this afternoon....
The Orphan of Salt Winds (Elizabeth Brooks, who lives on the Isle of Man; published by Tin Books, Portland Oregon & Brooklyn, NY, 2019).
It was a Powell's staff pick... From the inside of the book:
The winds and tides remember, as do the birds, and the shrimps, and the sand worms, and the whispering reeds, and the grasses, and the lichens, and every single stone in the old seawall. I know they remember, because they passed the story on to me ---a stranger---just as I have passed it on to you.
I can't make promises. I can only ask you to watch and listen and lift your face to the wind from time to time, in case it's carrying the scent of ancient magic.
One night, you will sense something -- glitter on black water, perhaps, or the snapping of a sail in an empty sea, or the call of a curlew -- and you will know that the time has come. ~ "Call of the Curlew," by J. Friedmann.
So now I've got two books to read in my spare time (one fiction, one non-fiction).

went to Lowes after work
bought a Bosch 4.5" wide and 17" long SDS-MAX clay spade bit ... actually it is a shovel I attach to this SDS-MAX Bosch rotary hammer drill I bought recently ... can use it sitting in a chair to dig 4x4 post holes as well as a trench to bury electrical wire inside pvc pipe for addition of more floodlights ... think i will point some into the surrounding woods ... being able to see what you are hearing in the woods at night will be a spook-reducer ... I received someone else's imagination as well as mine on the production line ... I tend to get more open-minded to the ridiculous at night ;)
also bought:
some metal and stainless still cutting wheels for my
angle grinder
Irwin 1/2 " spade bit ... think it is about 2' long
several Dewalt heavy duty extra fine toothed short metal cutting blades for my demolition saw ... thinking about cutting a third portion of the bottom of a metal barrel off to make a rocket stove when I get time

The cutest white linen top. It has a big ruffle at the elbow, sorta bohemian style, it's also trimmed with a thin lace. Super cute and perfect for humid days.
And a great find at the thrift store!! I was looking for a side table next to my bed. Needs a little paint and a basket for the bottom shelf. Yay me!
Strawberries, grape tomatoes, and asparagus, perfect spring harvest! Truffles for my fashion show models and a cute welcome mat. Ok, I took the xmas one off the front door.

Here on TV, in B.C., Mark's is now advertising and selling mosquito repellent clothing. Although Health Canada does not allow Permethrin-Treated Clothes to be marketed saying that it also repels ticks which cause Lyme disease, apparently it does (?):

I do not want any repellents/insecticides directly on my skin, except for my hands, so I am making the shirt big enough to hang over my regular shirts. Ticks can cause Lyme, and several other diseases also.
