How great this is... I appreciate those with ability to sing, I can't carry a tune in a bucket, so it is nice to hear your voice is on the mend:)

Get to sing for a Sandy Benefit this afternoon. So glad my voice is on the mend! We are going to close the show with everyone singing "You'll Never walk alone". I'm sure that will bring a lot of tears. I hope it is successful.... there is lots to be done and a lot of people without homes.

Hello all! I will be spending Thanksgiving day with my sister, her family, my eldest sisters two children (their first major holiday without their Mom) and of course, little bit! Looking forward to it. Going down on wed. and baking all the pies (my sister isn't all that great in the kitchen lol) and am looking forward to being with family. Then, as is tradition, I will be decorating my home for Christmas this weekend... am looking forward to that as well!

I know I've been gone from here for a while and in the coming days I will offer an explanation. Till then, I hope everyone is well and that you all have a wonderful holiday, no matter how you spend it!

Wellll, turkey! Shock and awe!!! LOL, yanno? for once I'd like to do a standing rib roast? little white hats and all....there would be a revolt! :fastdraq:

I'm doing the usual, traditional stuff for my family, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, green beans, sweet potatoe casserole, corn soufle, rolls, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, pound cake. Pretty standard fare.

Annnd, it's the holidays so you can pretty much count on it being a cross between Modern Family/My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I have Kaluah for my coffee in the morning and Captain Morgan for the evening, so we'll get through it together!! :D

Seriously though, I'm hoping everyone here in the Loft and the Planet have an enjoyable day, full of company, comfort and food, no matter what is on the menu. If you have ill health? I wish for you a reprieve and that it would continue. If you are lonely, my hope would be the spirit of those here could wrap their arms around you. Peace and blessings to all!! (f)

The sunset was spectacular. One of those fireball red, faded into oranges into purples...the water looked like it had a million diamonds on it...

I reckon I've got the only valid excuse out of all of yous for not ironing ... I would collapse into a puddle and then die of heat exhaustion ... unless I have the ac set to freezing first.

I miss being cold! I know lots of you are cold but I miss the snuggling feeling of yummy layers of clothes and waddling along because of all the layers and the deliciuosness of snuggling up under yummy warm blankets. My favourite season is Autumn but I think Winter would have to be a close second.

The dolphins are more visible with the cooler temps., too.

I watched a gorgeous sunset yesterday after a spectacular show of the dolphins.
My viewpoint is incredible..and allows me some great viewing opportunities. Actually I have 3 vantage points to see them.

Well, I have been in pain since yesterday morning. Woke up, neck all cramped up. I thought it would pass, like a slept wrong or something. It didn't. Not happy with the amount of meds I have had to take to make it through the day. Tomorrow is work so I won't be able to take much. I am worried about it. Hard for me to turn myh neck without that wrenching feeling. urrgggg wish me luck!

hey Galahad...thanks for your kind words. Yes, life IS a miracle. I know mine is.
There is nothing any more awesome than to be sitting in that warm sun, watching..when all of a sudden you see a glisten, then the dolphin breach the surface...and then you see...a couple more. The most I have seen is 14. The babies are the most adorable. Their little tails are so limp yet and they TRY to make a splash but is just a soft "whoosh"...just adorable.
I am hoping to be able to spot the right whales as they make their migration through here now til January. I have seen a few of them...THAT is spectacular. Anyway it is my slice of heaven..

Brrr it's 27 here this morning, high is going to be around 52. My pups looked at me like I had lost my mind as I pushed their little butts out the door. Doxies do not like the cold which I have never understood, they come from Germany and I do believe it gets pretty cold there. Anyways they are now suggled back into their kennel. I am sitting here waiting for a lead to come in. It's nice to not to have to rush out into the cold. Hope everyone has a great day.

So very pleased "gun season" is over. Driving back from down south, on the freeway, so many pick-em-up trucks with dead bucks and does sprawled out for everyone to be subjected to. I'm sure some of you may remember the scene in "Starman" when Jeff Bridges character brought to life a shot deer tied up to a truck. The baffled faces of those dudes when that gorgeous animal got up and majestically ran. Beautiful, just beautiful.

The frost is thick this morning but the sun is bright. The pups have this new routine, they get out of our bed run to their kennel and stay until the sun is fully up. They refuse to go outside :-). The three of them running looks like a charriot race.

The secret gifts I have been ordering for Red have begun arriving now if I can wait to give them to her. I'm not very good at hiding gifts. We told each other we were buying a new bedroom set for ourselves and forgoing gifts, but I can't do that. She has hinted at wanting to many different things and after 9 years I know what a hint is :-).

Sassy and her mom *Sassy the elder, were given peanuts in the shell this morning. Cute warning: One Sass had one end of the peanut, and the other sass, remaining piece of peanut. Both carrying it away together. I have never had the pleasure of observing this behavior.

Red was at a conference and our expedition and another teachers expedition was broken into. The hotel does not have cameras. We found out the locks on th expeditions are the easiest on the planet to pop out :-(. I assure you if the vehicle had been sitting outside our home the dogs still would have not helped. They think everyone comes her to rub their bellies.

From what I just read on my FB, about the pic Okie, it's from Popeyes and the sauce is called Delta Sauce.

A blogger wrote this copycat recipe for the sauce.

Popeyes “Delta Sauce” Copycat
Makes about 1.5 cups

Ingredients:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2-3 dashes hot pepper sauce
1 clove garlic, minced

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for one hour before serving.

Yes Truffles are a very expensive high end mushroom. I have had them once when I lived in Scotland. They are very very good but I'm not paying that much for any kind of fungas..LOL

Drove back to Wisconsin to the sweet embrace of snow. First of the season, hopefully many more. Any moisture will help alleviate the drought condition so much of the U.S. is in currently.

Heard on the radio that Milwaukee will break a record with no significant snowfall for 280 days, same with Chicago. Really difficult to wrap ones head around that. I also learned that a "trace" of snow is anything under one tenth of an inch.

Good to be back in Wisconsin! *dontcha know ;)

Tis the season to be jolly fa la la la la la la la. I am one of those that loves and hates the holidays all in one bag. I love the hustle and bustle of shopping and searching for those one of kind gifts. I love all the parties and hanging out with family and friends, but I hate the mood it puts so many people in. Drinking some hot chocolate and nursing this cold I have. My head is swimming in a pool of well you get the picture lol

lucky me gets to head out to the airport tonite and pick up the other grandmother who will be here visiting for the holidays. Usually I love company, but I feel icky therefore I don't know that I shall be the hostess with the mostess for a few days lol.....

well im still hangin here near Nashville , over by Murfreesboro , i dont know whats going on with the freight with my company but all they did was run me bk and forth to chatanooga this week... I love being around here but i gotta get some miles in , anyways today is friday and usualy a big load day soooooo .....

With this snow, the sassy squirrels have been hibernating and the birds have had their chance at the feeders. When I awakened this morning, there was a fox walking across the front yard. Fascinating!
