I used to go to hockey games as a kid and just stopped going as I got older. I eventually gave up watching them on TV. The thrill was gone once football entered my life. Even baseball, I lived in the left field bleachers at Wrigley Field with many of my other friends. Baseball was what we'd skip school for. Now, I never have time to sit through a whole game. There's just so much to do when the weather gets nice...........like fishing.

Good Morning Morning Star

Over the years, I've been reading about all sorts of "extras" in your vehicle. Now let's take stock, naturally remembering mine is only an SUV however, betcha we need as many 'luxuries' as the next.

I would assume you have a john, Fridge and bed (I've read you have a double, mine's only a make shift single, if you can call it even that! lo).

I have a microwave oven, about 3 charges to run everything off of while on surveillance, a heated seat (don't forget I can sit for HOURS prior to my subjects doing anything), a canister from everything from a Phillips head, needle & thread (I need this to sew in my covert cameras, otherwise, trust me, I wouldn't be bringing it) crazy glue, gorilla glue, Velcro, scissor, highlighter pens, magic market and always a complete change of clothing just in case I get nabbed & I need to change, along with a wig.

Winter, I don't need the heat, it's WAY to cold in there, but in the summer, I need the re fridge.

Cash is ALWAYS a necessity so I don't leave a paper trail.

Any tips you want to share with me on any other major appliances you may have in there? Itty

i have a micro wave too....... i also have this thing that looks like a black lunch box.
i line it with foil and put a large loaf pan in it.. fix up some chicken breast or pork and some veggies, season it all with what ever... and plug it into the ciggy lighter.

Well, Lordy, what a small world...you are correct, in Blackpool we have The Pleasure Beach, it houses the oldest 'woody' (wooden rollercoaster) in the world and some pretty fast other ones. They also have one now that can be seen on the horizon for miles and miles - it's called the Big One unsurprisingly!

We've had lots of snow here in the UK over the last couple of months but I'm lucky I live in place that is (usually) protected - by the Pennine Hills on the landward side and Morecambe Bay on the seaward side. For 3yrs I've been telling my girl that Blackpool just doesn't get snow only for us to wake up at the start of Christmas week to a white-out...tsk! Thankfully our snowy inconveniences are over and it's just cold. Roll on spring.

I have a beautiful black and white newfoundland dog named Story. She is 100 lbs. She was up to her forehead in snow when she went out this morning! When I opened the door, I had to push and push and push to get it opened..she bolted out and fell right into the snow..you couldnt see our steps! The real measure of the snow is that it reached up to the handle of my snow shovel...I had to shovel in layers...my poor old girl (she is 13) was traumatized by how the world changed. I shoveled her a circular area so she has space to do her business. I cant believe how much snow we had overnite!

och it's always windy in the winter here...I love those high tides - fabulous to dress up in yer warmest most waterproof gear and go stand on the promenade whilst the waves crash over. Although I think the new sea defences might stop that.

A cocker-poo, oh how adorable...that's a cocker spaniel/poodle cross right? I have met a couple of Labradoodles along the way but never a cocker-poo...do you have pictures of him on here?

Morning Lofters,
Arizona Valley here. Weather has been decent here for most part lately. Mid 60s and only a few days of rain. I love it! However, Feb is the rainy month here so who knows what will happen. Our Monsoon season only gave us about an inch of rain last Sept. Makes a bad drought for the Valley. Our neighbors in the mountains are getting all our moisture so should replenish our waterways in Spring when their snow melts. Hopefully, won't flood us out. Saying prayers for everyone's safety.

I'm glad your nephew liked our crisps Wryly ...we have some weird and wonderful flavours to be sure...most aren't my cup-of-tea, like you say our palate changes over the years. The new spicy hot ones have me hooked though, I can plough my way through a large (uk) bag in very short order just like I did last night watching the game :eating:

Although we've had SB coverage here for some years (swapping between 3 channels with varying success) our coverage is UK centred so we don't get your commercials, nor do we get the sheer volume of commercials you guys get...it's fantastic that SB coverage is now from the BBC so there are no commercials except 2 last night, one for the upcoming Winter Olympics Coverage and another for a programme Michael Johnson has made about downhill skiers........not a Bud or Pepsi in sight....or a Findus fish-finger either for that matter! ;)

I've just been talking with Ingress tonight and we can't remember Bud commercials here before 1990, it's an import for us and the bottled lager market only took off here around 1990... can you find me a link to the Cajun/Bayou Bud commercials please I'd like to see them. :cheesy:

It was decidedly 'asthmatic grandad rock' and sadly only a half a band. The light show was very show-biz and rather fantastic it has to be said but the bottom line is, they were a shadow of their former selves (although not in girth)....I have to agree though, Pete still rocks out a great riff :guitar:

well....... right now im hanging in my truck.... washed it .. now gonna vacume it...
i cant go driving my truck anywhere..... soo just hanging out here .. till i get a load sent to me to go do... im 1st on the boards here with my company soooooo
and there are like 4 truck stops all across from each othere here.... and it when darknss falls here........ the riff raff all come out..... hookers, druggies..
and alot of trash talk on the CB ... well actually some of that trash talk is going on right now.. it can be kinda ahhh entertaining..... but sometimes ya have to turn it off .. lol

You know in December I was in a store and saw the mittens and thought $10 is too much to pay. Now you can't find those things anywhere. I've was going to get a hockey jersey but the ones they have in the stores aren't as good as the one I got for the 2006 Olympics.....unless I want to pay almost triple for a really fancy one! I don't think so!!!!

Ta ever so Wryly :D - the project was one helluva a year, it's pretty much a visual blog.

I can highly recommend spanakopita; an unctuous mix of spinach, feta and (lots of ) garlic just can't fail to be tasty - the trick is to squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the spinach/greens or your filo pastry just disintegrates ...I was inspired to have a go making it after trying a few versions at a 'Continental Market' in Lincoln (uk)

Whoever is around me, whether my kids or friend, seems to watch me rejoice in my victory while they smile with an upward brow as if to agree, "she still has it."
In any case,,,I really like growing old and like being 50 ish. Guess cause I made it and am operating from love more than I did when I was younger. Well, live and learn, means a lot to me. Thanks for the sharing.

well with as much snow as we have had nothing right now...unless you like this yucky white stuff...we have three ski resorts near us and also a coupleof snow tubing places.....but alas one has to have someone to do these things with.......but i do like to go dancing.....picnics...hiking.....we are located near quite a few public park lands....including the beautiful park lands where camp david is nestled in......so plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do....

there are lesbian groups and internet groups but they are mostly located up near harrisburg or down around baltimore......ere go why i am still single....no opportunity to meet anyone....

beleive me you know Camp david is there but no one knows where...
although presidents have been known to visit the local restaurants near there.......

it could be quite interesting around there now...because it is also remoured that the head of or former head of the KKK lives up near thurmont...lol..

have you tried mushy peas LieslKate? They're quite quite delicious when served accompanying the right thing. As has been said they are traditional with fish and chips but I quite like them with bacon chops and new potatoes....there are those that have them with their Sunday roast too.

I'm a bad northerner, I spice my mushy peas up with my ever present chilli

ahaaa Lieslkate, is it Batchelors peas you get in cans, I think they are by far the most famous brand? ...I've never used them as part of anything like cutlets that's an interesting idea.

Now, I wish I could get Beanogas, can't say I've ever seen it here. Whereabout in the Uk have you lived?
