Spending the day with my mom yesterday ~ having lunch together (and sharing dessert) and helping her run errands. Sometimes life seems to get in the way of these times, so I find joy in the simple times with just her and I.

In the midst of all my worry about how to tell her I really like her, and not knowing when to bring it up in the midst of one of our crazy conversations, she told me that she has feelings "stronger than just the friendship kind" for me. :goodscore:

I didn't sleep a wink and the grin on my face tells exactly how happy I am to know this now. I didn't think she felt the same, and vice versa...neither one of us wanted to cross a line in our friendship. We think a lot alike...and we always laugh til we cry. :clap:

my dog got groomed today and we always walk thru petsmart (Where she gets groomed) afterwards so she can get tons of attention. Of course she also gets to pick out a toy and today she wanted a pretty blue squeaking monkey. She was sashaying up and down the aisles with the monkey in her mouth, pausing off and on to let people pet her. We had just stopped for a family of two adults, two young girls and three small dogs...very small dogs compared to my newfoundland. When we turned to go, one of the shy children who had hidden behind momma, hollered ...I turned around and she was pointing silently to the blue monkey on the floor. Story had dropped it. I smiled and motioned for her to get it..and this bashful child who obviously understood all too well the angst of forgetting a toy..snuk out from behind her momma and grabbed the toy and shyly approached my dog...my old girl nudged her hand and kissed it before she took the toy...

what a soft sweet memory I now have. When i am older and rocking more than I am walking, I will cover memories like this instead of watching Maury...

I am adopting a 10 year old newfoundland dog, named Dawson. No one wanted the poor thing because he was so old. (10 is their average life expectancy)

I just received an email from his original breeder. Several years back she had to divorce her husband and because of that, had to sell off all of her newfoundlands, including one of her stud dogs, Dawson.

She was so glad to know he was going to a good home. I am so happy I get to know his first human missus. What a wonderful connection this has been!

The kind of friend that patiently sits by your hospital bed at all hours of the night and gently squeezes your hand to let you know you're not alone, hands you a warm wash cloth when your eyes burn and offers their shoulder to cry on when you hear that your daddy passed away in the middle of the night (even if that support is offered from miles away, it felt like they were in the same same room with me).

I can not find the words to express how much joy they bring me, or how much I admire them. But I can say... I would do the very same thing for these friends WHENEVER they need me.

Where would we all be without such wonderful, supportive, sincerely caring friends? I feel so blessed to have some really special people in my life. Each one of you make life worth living and give me such joy!!

normally my birthday (like most holidays) makes me feel a little down.

i really didn't want to acknowledge my birthday this year since the last few weeks have been so tough.

but, i've had the best birthday i've ever had. i smiled all day- except when i was crying but the tears i shed were those from feeling so loved. i told anyone that asked that i wanted nothing for my birthday- a hug would be sufficient since everyone is currently doing so much for me. and i was surprised with some of the most thoughtful gifts i've ever received.

it's just been a really wonderful day that i was not expecting.

Prepped the bathtub, added hypoallergenic non scented baby soap..nice & warm...I go to fetch the furkids for their Spring Wash-up, they seem to sense bad things, so they both hid, I manage to find 'em, and take 'em to the tub
They both went from yawning, bored expression to instant "WTF?!?!" when i put 'em in.
I did manage to calm them a bit, let them float and "swim" once they quit acting like i dunked 'em in acid.
They looked like a very puffy dog that appears skinny when drenched.
Matilda seemed to enjoy swimming whenever TehToh was calm, otherwise, they'd both try to get out of the Tub..
Neither one pooped, so that was good news{poop generally means they're not amused at all, time to dry}.:sunglass::cracked:
While they "explored" I set their towels all over the floor, After rinsing them off with running warm water, I let them do their thing with the towels...{they look like 'shiny' cotton balls now}

Being able to LET GO of raw, hurtful feelings...truly let go.... and feeling such relief and support during and afterwords.

One thing that I did, which felt AMAZING, to let go.... was to deliberately, completely and with a peaceful & liberated mind and soul, PERMANENTLY delete over 500 text messages on my phone that I was hanging onto for some odd reason. How letting go of that negative, hurtful history truly made me feel at peace and a weight lifted. What led me to finally let go? Hope, Confidence, Strength, Faith, Sincere Friendship, Support and a feeling that I could finally let go and move on. This new found Confidence and Peace will help me face the grief of recent events.

Why on earth I was holding onto all those texts received from someone I had to file a PFA against a year ago or so, is beyond me... I didn't realize it was still victimizing me!! Even if I never read them, I knew they were there and it was a constant reminder. I strive to be a SURVIVOR... why did I allow myself to hold onto all that negative stuff?

I have finally LET GO.

i was on the phone today with my brother (who of late i am SO proud of) and he told me that he thinks that i am a wonderful person who really has never done anything wrong. that i'm sweet and kind and caring. and he thinks i;m the last person who should have ended up with this cancer.

I have now had two students that are not on my case load in classes I work in who will work with me when their classroom teachers can not get them to do anything.
