the new opening date is June 15th! So plenty of time to create! Thank you all, again, for helping me out! Starting a new adventure is never easy sailing but as long as its expected, its never a crisis, right? LOL. I am just SO loving this whole journey..even tho so much has happened around it, the process of opening the store has been nothing but positive!

ok wittle darlings here is da facts.............you can alter the tins anyway you like, no need to use the little goodies i put in each tin, just felt it would be a waste to send them empty..there are some cool ideas out there on the internets!! Time frame how about a month since no one else has posted a project. Everyone got 8 cause 7 (one to practice on) signed up and i really wanted to send out about 35 each, seeing that i have almost 200 !!Someone asked for an extra so she got more.I really should give up my altoid addiction! So when your done mail them back to me, add 5 bucks and wait by your mail to get a collection back!! Fun huh!! and to the people worried about me, I really am ok, i posted cause i was looking for conversation about my situation. still not sure what to do cause in the end i really do love this person...............rock on !!

I have a question about the "You are so beautiful" project. If I remember correctly, we agreed to go with 8.5 X 11 for the letters, right? Well, I just went shopping for supplies and they don't sell that size canvas!

I bought 8 X 10, because the next size they had was 9 X 12. So, is it just me, did everyone else find the right size?

I know it will look weird if mine are a different size from all the others. I could just use pages from an artist pad and draw, paint, stencil, the letters on. They would be easy to hang, they'd be light enought to just tape to the wall, I guess.

What do y'all think? I need advice...

Im not using canvas and I agree that different sizes will look just fine. I think that was discussed a little previously.

Hello my friends! Everyone is correct about the size issue. It wont make a difference! And, now that I have moved into a bigger store, I have several areas I can actually put this! Including right on the balcony, right above the fitting rooms! And as you open the door to come into the shop, it would be directly ahead of you! Perfect!

I have been so blessed with this journey! SO many people have helped to make this possible! Including my former landlord! We sat down to discuss the two stores of his and we both agreed neither one was meeting my needs and he was not able to finish the renovations in a timely fashion. So I found another store front in the same plaza that is nice and large enough for a consignment shop! And it is all fixed up and ready to move into! Which I am doing tomorrow! I paid rent to the new store and friends and family and customers are coming to help me move and then size and maybe even hang more and finish ticketing the store and its inventories TOMORROW! And my former landlord has even hired some men to do the heavy labor, out of his own pocket! I have truly made a good friend with him! It goes to show me that even when things dont work out the way you think they should, really wonderful things can still happen!

I have shared with some of my customers about the "you are so beautiful" project you all are doing for us. They are simply overwhelmed by the message of the words AND the fact that is is a gift from strangers who believe in us. Thank you so much. So very very much! :moonstars:

Oh Tommi! How so very sweet of you! I was given a HUGE antique dark mahogany round dining room table with thick claw feet today for the store! It is where my sweaters are going to be folded and exhibited! I have an old antique side by side, drawers on one side, a hanging section on the other, that I am going to use in the shop too. I will put nylons, gloves, scarves, etc in the drawers and hang teddies and nighties in the hanging side.

the thrill of this going from my mind to reality is amazing! And I get to share it with all of you!

This is a small, private showing. And it gives me an opportunity to test run my "system" before I officially open! The grand opening is when the press will be there and it will be open to the public. I mentioned the possibility of selling some of your crafts in my shop. I hope you all consider this option! I would love to see what you might want to send. I was just sharing with someone, that because you have to add shipping costs to the cost of making the items, I wont be taking my usual 40%, as that would make the items too expensive to sell realistically. Instead, i would only add on a little bit. If your item is worth $2, i would add on 50 cents. If you need to get $10 to cover costs and to pay yourself, I would add just $1 or $2 to each item. I NEED gifts to sell, especially during the holiday season. Although I would like to keep them in the shop all year round. You dont have to fear you will need to supply alot, nor do you have to worry that you have to commit to sending.supplying all year round. Even if you send one or two things once a year, that would be great. It would make my shop known for the unique, one of a kind, kind of special items! But you could also develop a line of goods just for my shop too if you are so inclined! I am SERIOUSLY looking for artists/crafters who can make me some incredible ample goddess icons in jewelry, drawings, polyclay, cards,, etc. If someone could make plump little angel and fairy pins, OMG, they would sell like mad! Especially if they came in a card that could then be put into a hand made frame that they could ALSO buy in my shop!

I dont want to take up this thread...its not the purpose of it. I respect Jen and wont derail her baby. Do you think, Jen, I could start a thread for crafters who want to market their wares, not just to me, but to anyone on this site? i do nudes...i think i may have done some in a round for the dash site way back when. would that be too radical ?? i do do other stuff, lots of other stuff. i am planning on a subscription here, i almost have enough saved for it, when i do i will post some photos of my stuff. She showed it to me for any corrections before she submits it. WOW! AND ...note that she uses the phrase "we are SO beautiful" Wont that be such a grand slam when people come in and see our community sign up for them to see!!!!!!

I received Ms Scarlett's and Claybaby's letters today. Oh my! They have outdone themselves! And what is so fascinating to me is how people's letters all compliment one another!This sign is going to be smashing up on the wall!

All I have left is PurePisces letters to arrive! Then up on the wall they go! And LOTS of photos!

I am really behind on this project and am not sure when I will be able to finish.

My air conditioner flooded my house almost two weeks ago and I'm am working with my insurance adjuster and A/C repair company trying to get insurance to pay for all the damage. But at the moment I've been spending all my spare time moving furniture and pulling up my lamanite flooring. I am hoping that all the stars align today and we get the paperwork from the A/C company that the insurance company needs to verify that this incident is covered by insurance. That will take a huge amount of stress off of me so that I can focus on this project, finally.

If everyone is finished before me, I'll send mine out to everyone individually. I really want to be part of this.

We have a wonderful showing for the open house and people bought ALOT! One of our famous cupcakeries donated special flavor cupcakes for the opening. Oh boy were they ever the hit!

I found this thread completely by accident...I actually looked at the BFP home page instead of just going to my user CP to check the threads I am subscribed to.

While I do not have the time, unfortunately, to be crafty and be involved in projects (though it does sound like fun) I am considering getting a post office box so that I can have pen-pals. I miss the old-school way of communicating of actually putting pen to paper and writing. I find it so much more rewarding to hold a piece of mail and see someone's hand written letter or card or post card. I think it is becoming a lost art. In my opinion you can tell so much more about a person from "snail-mail", like anyone that would receive something from me would quickly realize just how grateful I am that everything else I use has has spell check including the browser I use for posting on here.

Anyways if anyone would like to figure out a way to enjoy the lost art of communicating through snail-mail with me just send me a private message and we might be able to figure out.

Amiyesiam told me about this cool exchange! I wish I thought I could squeeze in making 10 pieces of jewelry right now...I just can't see it being possible...I have several pieces in the midst of repairs, and I am making my own jewelry for reunion...Plus, I have two trips before LR, one this weekend, and one August 17th to Port Townsend Wa. The minutes are just ticking away so quickly!

I think that's fine to do something simple like that if you want to post it and wrangle it. Personally I plan to wait to join a new project until after I receive the Altoid tins from the project BEFORE the jewelry project (I know we are all a little late sometimes but the Altoid tin original deadline and mail out time was in JUNE.). That was wrangled by Rain, and I hope she'll check in and let us know what the status is of that project. The next major (so to speak) project is going to be wrangled by Laruss.

Here's where we are with the current project. Deadline for mailing to me was end of September, though we always make room for a reasonable amount of lateness. That's much cooler than dropping out. So far, no projects yet, but I have heard from Gemme, Tommi, Cara, and Laruss. Unless I missed it, I have not heard from Leftwritefemme, Femmeennoir, LadyRain, and Amiyesiam. I hope they'll check in and give us an update where they are with the project. If anyone wants to send them a friendly visitor message or PM about it, that'd be great too.

For those who want to do holiday card exchanges and postcard exchanges, there are actually separate threads for that and the sign up list for the holiday cards has just begun so now's a great time to jump on that.

It's been awhile since we've actually just done 'penpal' stuff and I kinda miss it, though I know my schedule is about to get crazy at the end of this month. Sooooooo......I'm hoping to get something out, to just say 'hi' and "I'm thinking of you' before the end of the month.

Deb, feel free to peruse the thread and see the type of activities we've done and if you have an idea in mind, absolutely put it out there! We're pretty open to all kinds of yummy stuff.

But, like Jennifer said, it would be nice to tie up the loose ends of the open projects before jumping into another one (for those wanting to take part in one of our project rounds).

I used to participate a lot on swap bot. one thing I liked about it was the rating system made it easy to see flakers and i could participate (or not) in projects based on my own scores.

Hello Crafty Folks,

I have a question....
Curious if anyone has had a table at a bazaar or craft fair before and if they had any hints or suggestions.

Was it worth it (cost wise)? What would you do different or not do?

I am looking at joining a couple this November. And dare I say the last craft fair I participated in I was 8. My best friend and I stenciled gift bags. What a cute memory. We were so earnest!
