I have them packaged to go out, but due to some unexpected home repairs, I am OUT of money until I get paid Friday, so I'll get them out in the mail then.

Gemmie - I got yours on Saturday and I LOVE it! How did you do the water??? It's fantastic and I'm terribly jealous that I didn't come up with it.

p.s. What type of glue did you use for the wood? I've tried five different types and I couldn't keep the bark that I wanted to use attached. I finally gave up and just painted it, but I had an idea that I think would have been great, if only I could make it work.

Your work is always awesome, so I wouldn't worry. I think I have a pretty neat idea too, but it involves using a technique that I've never done before so it might not be as successful as I would like.

Well, this is a big relief to me. I can't believe that I haven't managed to get these finished yet. I was off work for four days and thought I would have them done with time to spare; but I didn't work on them at all.

My little Dakota is deathly ill, so sick in fact that I took her into the vet on Friday night prepared to have her put to sleep, after having spent the day watching her condition decline. When we got to the vet though, she perked up and made it clear that she wasn't ready to go just yet. So, we went back home and she had permission from the doctor to eat as many Oreo cookies as she wanted (which turned out to be 22). We somehow made it though the weekend, but she took another turn for the worse yesterday (she wouldn't eat anything, including cookies) and we were back at the vet's. He gave her another shot to try and stimulate her appetite and said we should give it till Thursday to see if we can get her eating again.

So, I have been on an emotional roller coaster. I haven't been able to focus on anything but her.

But, I am going to work on these projects, I promise. I really do love the theme.

I had a battle with adhesive on those. In the end, I wound up putting them together and then stacking a big ole bunch of magazines on them for a couple of days. I guess it's been too hot for the gel adhesive to adhere or maybe it's because I chose textured cardstock.

The postal carrier(s) refuse to leave any packages for me and instead send them to the downtown post office. Of course with budget cuts, that post office is only open M-F and during hours I'm at work in a different city. I can't receive personal mail and packages at work.

Have any of you dealt with this before? What was your solution?

Yep and I got a post office box. This worked for me for security reasons as well. That way, when a larger package comes through than will fit my po box (I got the teensiest one they had available), they put it in a larger box and leave the key to the box in my smaller po box. It runs me about $60 for a year with my po box.

But there was some confusion and Jen thought my signature quote was what I wanted her to print out...the four or five line poem you got from me is not my project!

I am going to fix this...I will send my poem to each of you, along with something I just made. I was working on it for a class I am going to give locally...

I'm so glad you posted this, because I don't think I remember to thank everyone! As always, so many great projects. It was very interesting to see different views on addition - and they were all quite beautiful, too. Jen - this was one of my favorite projects to work on, thank you!

its just a cartoon thing.... the post cards are made of thick, water color paper, i used water color pencils, with a mixture of brush and water and colorless markers.

strangest thing happend today.......
ya know.. last week sometime... i was poking around the internet, and looked up...... truck driving for celeberties/concerts etc.....
and it came up with several companies and what the qaulifcations are and such... ok .. just lookng courious....
i get these tarot card reading things coming to my wall on FB ... and just about every reading or every other one.... its gives u like 3 a day i dont know why... but it keeps telling me of change, changes, etc...
well.... i had a load I took to canada friday, while i droped it off, (Panther who i work for) sent me a message to pick up another load which was 20 miles away, up north of Toronto, it was stage stuff for .. Metallica..(it was dragons , lazers, war tanks and fogg stuff..) and I thought??? yeha.. this is awsome.. cuz most the time , cept sometimes i haul car parts. so this was cool... and wierd that I got a load like this , cuz i have not mentioned anything about this story to anyone.. of doing the search for trucking companies/jobs doing this sort of thing.
soo ok i get here..... just east of Harrisburg Pa where im droping the stage stuff at some sort of warehouse storage place they have here..
well here were all these other trucks here with trailers with other major concert stuff.... with a couple companies names on the trucks i seen on line.
well after sitting there waiting for someone to unload my truck and listening to these trucker guys talk there stuff and all ...one of them who seemd in charge of several trucks, walked away then came bk a lil later and asked for info about my truck and owner... and wants to se if he can hire my truck for hauling ahhhhhhhhhh concert stuff.... heh.. says they need some smaller trucks like mine.... now how wierd is that???

Okay, I hate to say this, but I need help. My plans with the move and reunion have gone a bit sideways on me and it looks like I won't be leaving WA until Sunday night or Monday morning.

What does this mean, you ask, in relation to this thread?

Well, it means that instead of working on my portion of the raffle bags once I've gotten to Austin and have relaxed, I have to work on them now, which would be no biggie....if I had an ounce of inspiration.

I had some great ideas in the beginning and I solicited a few of the donators for additional things to put on the front of the bags, like business cards and patches and such, and they responded fabulously. I'm just bone dry.

I guess the stress from the move and watching $$$ flow so fast betwixt (I don't know if it is an appropriate usage here, but I don't really care) my fingers has overwhelmed me and shortcircuited my creative juice supply. Hell, the whole move has overwhelmed me. :blink:

Soooo...if anyone has any ideas or doesn't mind sharing with me what they did on their bags (and not mind me possibly using parts of what they did in my bags aka plagerism), please pm me. I'll be on and off the site tonight and I'll work on the bags tomorrow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, what's the next project gonna be? How about a postcard exchange? We could each send out 2 postcards to randomly selected participants. Pretty easy, right?
