no date for me...I am trying to hold off going to Urgent Care because we have another series of severe storms coming in and my dog cant be left alone in them. (my right arm is giving me lots of problems)

but..if someone were to ask me out for this weekend, where would I want to go? Hmmmm....

the movies is so cliche-ish. So no, not there. We have a lovely botanical garden in my town and they have a lovely collection of trees that we could wander in, especially as the storm starts to breeze in and you can almost feel its pulse as it comes closer... hair whipping around as I point out the differences in trees and how they are shaped according to their varieties. I would get lost in my knowledge to wear down my anxiety, to have something to focus on while he watches me, listening but really more so watching my face, especially my lips as I talk about the larch and the beech and the sprawl of the spreading juniper...

they have a great restaurant inside the marbled building. A nice tall glass of herbal ice tea and a fancy croissant sandwhich, followed by a piece of cheesecake shared by the two of us...

we talk and as I sense him watching me intently, I blush and sometimes get a little giddy in my speech. Finally I sit back against the huge wall of windows where the restaurant overlooks the beautiful glacier lake and look right at him instead of pouring out words from my bottomless well of anxiety...

he doesnt stop looking intently...

I notice the sincerity in his eyes and the solidness of his face, full of character and wisdom, with laugh lines to balance the seriousness of his years. Locked onto his eyes, he smiles at me and I am compulsed to simply smile back...

not a word is said while I twirl my napkin, and we look upon each other...

who would have thought I was shy, so bold and brassy I can be

yet there I was, being very shy but now quiet, the only noise coming from the kitchen and the conversation between two older women a few tables away from us.

and then he asks me "would you like to play putt putt?"

"no" I softly say

Bowling?

no, not bowling

hmmm...go to a movie?

not today.

a museum perhaps?

I shake my head no

He never stops looking into my eyes, as he continues asking

"would you like to go to the mall?"

my nose scrunches up as I adamantly say no to that proposition

would you care to just take a drive out in the country?

I pause and think about this and I nod my head yes...

we gather up our trays and take them to their station and leave...

his hand slides into mine, the first time we touch, as we head to the car...

later we will kiss

and say good nite

and go home seperately

with wonder inside us both

for all the magic a simple first date can bring...

Yeah the Botanical garden is nice here too. You can't really talk at the movies but it's fun to go after you've been dating for awhile. I like to do fun stuff on dates like bowling or pitch n putt. Hanging out in the park or at the lake is fun too.

I emailed the dept chairperson about that internship I don't think I'm going back to it tomorrow. The site supervisor couldn't even sign the appropiate papers yesterday because she was too busy, well they could go to hell I don't care!!

As for the little baby yes he might have separation anxiety could you guys get him a preschool so he is involved with other children and gets used to being alone..but you must stay strong and not give in to him!! or else you willl have bedlam on your hands

I did this to. My internship place was ran by two cousins. When I first started, I enjoyed it, but when the woman's cousin started, I ended up hating the place. The cousin and the secretary would tell me the wrong things to do, so I would get a lecture from the owner. I ended up walking out and I never went back.

She is a single mom and that is why I am here helping out. I don't give into him, he knows this. But she cannot handle to hear him cry and picks him up after five minutes of him crying. I am glad that I will be going back to school, so when she is pulling her hair out, I won't be here...My mother is trying to help her out, but she won't take our advice.

Hey y'all! I figured I'd post here since I am single and new to the site. If nothing else maybe I'll make a new friend or 12.

I'm 31, originally from Texas although I currently live in North Carolina. My last relationship ended in 2008 and I haven't been actively looking to change that. However, things change and I'm starting to think it might be nice to have someone special to spend time with.

I live with my best friend and her two daughters, which makes me a sorta-parent and I often call them "my (or our) girls". We also have 2 chihuahuas, a rat terrier and a cat. My best friend, Monkie, and her girls are my heart family. Monkie, the girls and I are a package deal. They will always be a part of my life, therefore it's imperative that the person I'm interested in can accept and embrace them as well.

I stumble when trying to explain the type of person that I am most often attracted to. It's all about masculine energy for me. Butch, TG, Gender Fucker, FtM, you get the idea. Older than me is always better (and I've seen the older crowd here wondering why some of us seek older) if for no other reason than I've stuffed a lot of life into my 31 years.

I'm kinky to a point, my kink doesn't rule my life but I certainly welcome power exchange and rough play whenever it's available to me. I consider myself queer, because I'm not a lesbian (transmen are men afterall) nor am I bisexual (the prefix "bi" means two and I firmly believe that there are more than two sexes and infinitely more than two genders.)

I'm in a period of transition in my life. There are big changes on the horizon and I'm opening my world up to the possibilities that lie ahead in all aspects of my life.

what year thus far! finally finding myself in an awesome space in life but just not sure about the whole dating thing. I think I'll gear myself more towards friends for now, keep it simple. I really isolated myself moving out to the country but I love it. now that I can afford more help I've been taking time off but I don't know many people in the area. My family- sister and my son live close but so busy. The other day I wanted to kayak with someone, do something outside with someone so bad.

I'm 52 but a very young and active 52. I run circles around people a lot younger than I. I eat healthy, live well and country living keeps you spry! you and lipstixgal are in the same state. you two should be buds and hang out. It doesnt cost money to have a good time, Its, your company. I'm always on a budget taking care of my responsibilities so I can relate and living rural is sometimes lonely but you need to make a plan, meet friends without an agenda. I'm doing that. Just low key, meet, talk, kayak, picnic, potluck, games, anything. I love being single, for now anyhow, but a casual date/friend is nice. Probably is a lot of people I've met find that a difficult concept.

Music is huge in my life, when I'm not listening to a various assortment of music, I'm singing,playing bass and writing lyrics for my original rock band Girlz Like That who have been playing together across the US and Canada for 12 years. I am kind of at a crossroads in life as I'm not sure what I will do or where I will go once my house sells here in Canada. I've recently started playing tennis again which I love, Love going to auctions,fleamarketing, shopping,travelling,movies,theatre,live music. I'm a chef by trade so I can hold my own in the kitchen as well as the rest of the rooms in the house:) I'm also a part-time smart ass and instigator with a sometimes risque sense of humour :p

I hope you all are enjoying your week. As for me Im still on vacation. I tried to go out of town the other day. A mist flooding here in DFW. On the way out I had two blow outs. Darn the luck right? Well I turned around and came home. And now just sitting around the house re arraging things.

Welcome to the thread QTPie and StoneButchinPA. I spent the majority of yesterday studying then took a break and went power walking for 45 minutes and then came home and decided to finish unpacking totes from when I moved into my new house back in April. I still have one to go and I am happy...I found my box of checks that I thought had gone MIA.

I am a fun loving girl, who like QT, is full figured and I do love my curves. I love meeting new ppl and one of my two best friends lives in Ireland and I met hym on the dash site. I am looking for someone who will make me laugh, since I do a lot of it. I just came out of a relationship in late February that made me take a break from dating and now I am ready. I am currently in college to become a registered nurse and classes are keeping me busy. I am also a music junky...I listen to everyone from Celine Dion to PitBull. My iPhone is full of music.

I love my family dearly, although I want to kick my oldest bro's ass a few times, but I have learned to deal with his crazy antics. I am the oldest of four kids and the only one to have a bachelor's degree. I can be bossy at times, depends on how much someone can push my buttons and get my Irish side to come out.

I live on the East Coast and most of them live on the West Coast, so we meet in Orlando, which is the halfway point for us, and have lunch and then go window shopping at the mall afterwards. Is there a thread for butches and femmes who live in Jersey?

Yes there is one but I seem to be the only one posting things there right now. I have tried to get Jersey folks together, but most appear too busy. *shrugs* I post different things that are happening in NJ that I know about there. Didn't know they were gonna have pride until yesterday. Of course, they didn't have it cause of the rain. In my experience, the more I went "looking for love" the more elusive it became. When I stopped chasing after it, it was more available to me....albeit from married straight women who were NOT looking for 3-somes but it was progress!

Like Mistie, I find hope to be a great motivator. So my current strategy is to do the things that make me happy, be open to new experiences and the people who come along with them, be patient, and remember any new friend is a nice addition to my life.

Yeah I'm so happy for you I'm glad you passed, well the school finally got me an internship for Tuesday so I can go back to work and get my clinicals done with hopefully soon so I can move away from this place and find peace and tranquilty in Florida!!

An honest answer.... the recession as well as chronic physical limitation (although, I am an active person, but the heck with long plane rides and days on the road) has way cramped my style! Frankly, if I could travel and meet someone special and get to know her, I would. Just not possible at present.

The weather is really nice here in SC...not hot but not cold...just right. This is my first fall down South and the difference in weather amazes me. I have to admit that I do really miss the North's temperatures...sometimes lol

An honest answer.... the recession as well as chronic physical limitation (although, I am an active person, but the heck with long plane rides and days on the road) has way cramped my style! Frankly, if I could travel and meet someone special and get to know her, I would. Just not possible at present.

Kind of funny.... I live in what many think is one of the Queer Meccas, and find it not to really have women that interest me. Not the B-F communities nor the rest. Love the queer dance folks, but, frankly, women that would interest me within it are already coupled.

Actually, other geoographic areas in my past spoke to my tastes much more. Well.. phooey!!!

I too am finding the monetary and time restrictions to be the biggest challenge in meeting and exploring possibilities with others. I have my own little family (kids) and budding career that seem to make such things impossible at present.

Yeppers.... timing IS everything! And time available, time for self, time for family, time for reflection...

My kid is grown and has his own family, but, I have been really thinking about being geographically closer to blood family lately. Dunno.... other than I now have a solid plan and time frame to make significant changes for myself that will result in a much more friendly retirement financially.

Today, I added another dimension to it that involves joint replacement surgeries, but, it just feels like it is time to just deal with this. I have a lot of active years ahead of me (although, life does turn on a dime as I have experienced more than once) and if I need some "bionic" parts to keep active and enjoying life, then, I'm going to just do it!

It's been over 4 years for me since a relationship and although it would be grand to have a sweetie again, I am doing just fine solo. But, I need to get back to dance! Love it and the socializing with those peeps around me.

I was able to pull a high C out of my anatomy class. I start anatomy 2 on Monday and several of the students from my anatomy 1 class is joining me. I am happy!!!! I am treating myself to some good old fashioned junk food today...Now I have to finish typing up my review questions for Microbiology so I can get the quiz done and have Sunday to myself.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi since I'm single. I have been for oh..... a number of years now. And heck even when I was in a relationship prior to this I wasn't really, cause I was lied to and she was in a relationship with someone else the entire time. Needless to say I have huge trust issues now. Sometimes I just don't understand the stuff folks do!!

Anyway, I was thinking about this the other day..... I think the one thing that I kind of miss about a relationship is the sharing of my day. Like if something exciting happens, or I learn something new about a situation, or whatever, and want to tell someone about it. You know how we get excited about something and want to tell our partner. Mostly the sharing of daily stuff and events. Generally my partner is my best friend as well, so it's a double loss of sorts. This has been the most difficult thing about being single for me. And of course the same from them, hearing about my partners day.

How about the rest of you? What do you miss, anything?

I miss the day to day things that I guess we take for granted at times. I also miss the snuggling

yes, i moved to columbia in may and am still trying to get adjusted. i miss DC alot but moved because of economics. lunch would be fun!
