I will be done with college on December 17th and I don't go back until January 18th, where I will be taking four classes. I am doing good, trying to take a weekend off again so I can go and hang out with my old roommate in Orlando, just to relax. If I can make it back, maybe we can have lunch?

Thanks Zimmy but no... They fired Wade the head coach but he wasnt the one calling offensive plays its Jason Garrett whom they promoted to interim head coach. They are still gonna suck. Till they get someone who has the balls to tell Jerry to stick it... And hold players accountable for how they play or they dont. :)

Sounds like South Beach in Miami. I was born and raised in the Daytona Beach area for about 25 years and when I moved back to the East Coast in March, I couldn't believe how much it had changed. All of the places that I remember as a child were gone or just not the same anymore. Now I miss living in Orlando where I lived for seven years prior to moving to Seattle in February. Boston is a gorgeous town, I lived there eleven years ago, but I had to move back to Florida when my dad got sick.

Sounds like you have certainly moved around alot. Where would you like to live if it could be anywhere in the world? I know I would like to be on a beach. It is so calming for the soul.
Some day when I get married I will have the reception on a beach. I am still waiting for that special Femme to come along. I can feel her sometimes, but then she is gone.
Anyway, I hear ya about taking care of your Dad. I had to move back home to take care of my Mom. I took care of her for 16 years until she passed. I saw my life with her full circle. She wiped my butt when I was a Baby and I winded up wiping hers when she was sick. She would not wear Depends so it was really hard. I had no one to help me. I took care of everything on my own. Anyway it is admirable that you are there for your Dad.

Does she listen? Is she there when I need her without question? Am I a priority for her and not an option? These all are huge things with me.

A perfect date for me would have to be the old dinner at a resturaunt. Just talking and getting to know each other... Other first few dates would follow with things like movies, picinics, walks in the park, and then....

I am 30. I have almost always kept within a 4-10 rule(4 yrs younger- 10 yrs older) it seems things in common and being able to get along and relate work best within that rule (not opposed to breaking the rule for an awesome femme tho)...I have been told I don't pay much attention to actual physical features, but rather the way they interact/move...*shrug* probably true...

I'm the same way with my cats...although 3 of them hide under the bed whenever anyone is at my house. I watch how my cat, Goldie, reacts but she loves everyone so the Butch would have to be pretty aweful for Goldie not to like them

I love living on the beach. It is very relaxing to walk on at night. It is hard to find someone who can relate to what I am talking about when I had to come home and take care of my dad for the last four years of his life. It is something that I will never forget. That is why I am going to school to be a nurse, I love helping people, it is something that I have done since I was 18 years old, when I moved back to Florida from Pennsylvania to take care of my sick grandparents.

Out of all of the places that I have lived in from a teenager to an adult, to me, I am home. Whenever I decided to move away from the East Coast of Florida, I just didn't feel the new place was my home and I would move back. There is something about the beach, that keeps drawing me back. If I found a partner who I loved more than life itself, then I would definately move away, but I would have to be near the beach...

The age group does not matter that much to me. I think love comes in all kinds of packages. Chemistry is the key. I like nice eyes, a friendly smile and sexy hair. Body type is not that important.

I'm not sure why - but reading ya'lls messages of support have really touched me deeply... I am blessed in that I have a loving family and the support of offline friends.

I know that I'm not alone. But - to find a community that already proclaimed (by joining the site) that they "get me" on some level is so affirming and to know with certainty that at least SOME ONE will hear me and not be so quick to dismiss my pain by saying "pull up your garter belt and move on"... Plus my friends tend to judge my ex and remind me of the bad. Which, is what those that love you do - but in a way it is dismissing as well.

Yes, she has issues and her issues caused me pain, humiliation and a host of other unhealthy consequences. I woke up and saw that no longer working for me - but it does NOT negate how deeply I loved her or the depth in which our lives were intertwined. But, my friends seem to think by merely reminding myself of the bad - I won't miss her or ache for what was my LIFE just 3 months ago.

Thank you to everyone for welcoming me and helping me by being receptive to my need to vent - both on the forum and in PMs.

To Paposeco: I am too new here to be aware of anything really. I won't presume to understand how you are feeling in saying goodbye to us. But, I will encourage you to keep in mind that just ONE positive person or influence in your life can be enough to outweigh the bad karma of those that are less-than positive. Hello everyone. I'm fairly new to this site and finally starting to participate in the forums. I look forward to interacting with the members of this site. Now about those weekend plans...probably the usual. Cleaning and laundry. I bought a dresser last week from Ikea to match the other pieces in my bedroom. I had to make room for it so I moved my weight bench out of my bedroom and into the basement. It's sitting down there still in pieces. I planned to put it back together this morning but I was so tired and just crashed when I got home from work. So I'm adding that to my weekend plans as well as organizing my closet. It is not easy to forget those you have loved. I believe a little piece of your heart always stays with them. I will tell you a little story that might make you feel better.
I had an 8 year relationship. It ended because she cheated on me. I was devastated. A few months later my Mother passed away. I went into a shell. A few months later I lost my job. This was too much for me to handle. I remember standing in a Kohls parking lot looking up to the sky and asking what else do you want to take from me. I think that was the lowest point in my life. I did not have any family or friends to help me go through this ugly part of my life. I was all alone. It took time and I healed. I really did not think I would make it.
I hope this might have helped you in some way. Like everyone has stated. We are here for each other. It is best to get it out then keep it in. One door closes and another one opens. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Just getting over a cold. I hate being sick. I had an alarm call last night for work about 11pm. Just as I was going into my deep sleep. They cannot seem to find the problem. It is in the wiring. Let's see ... I'm not ready for the holidays at all. This will actually be my first one single and that's rather depressing, but I'm thankful for my family and friends that I will be able to see. I know I'm blessed, just wish I had ... Well ... Y'all know. :)

At one time I was on every singles site in existence, but just like you, not once did they give me a "match" that truly was. They gave me women, women that looked just like me. I don't need a twin. I don't need someone to share clothes with (but I will admit, I love having my honey's T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and things to wear around, makes me feel close to them), or to share makeup tips with. I want someone that balances me, not is me. Similarities are good, differences are good ... So yes, like you, I will be doing my own footwork.

I keep reading how it's hard for y'all to tell when we are out there, and I know this to be true. Of course it is. Do me a favor, please just take the time to look around you. We are the ones trying to catch your eye. We are the ones really looking at you. And if you notice us looking, then we are the ones blushing (or at least I do) and grinning at you. That's us. We are there. We see you. We notice you. We appreciate you. If you just look around, maybe you just might see that appreciation from one of us.

I too have been on numerous dating sites, still am on a few actually. However, I too find them completely unhelpful. As a matter of fact, I am rarely contacted. Apparently there is something about me that is just... not what anyone wants... LOL!!

YES!!! Really, I have met some great people at the dog park I go to (have for 10 years, almost every day). Ummm... I even met a femme there once that I dated a few times. We ended up realizing that we were not a match, but very good friend material. She's a very nice woman and her old hound dog is sort of like Frog Dog's Uncle.

For me, it is getting out for a walk (big park) for not only the pooch, but myself, too. There is a gay couple that have greyhounds that I have gotten to know and they always give Frog Dog new balls and treats. These guys have been together for about 30 years! Good dog Dad's, too!

LOL, my little pooch can be a "babe magnet," but what usually is going on is that these women don't get that I am female until I get closer and start talking if I am bundled up for the walk! Oh, well.... There are a lot of butches, some transguys, many andro-dykes that lean more toward just lesbian identity. Some femmes, but not as many as the others ( :(..).

I like many of the dog park "regulars"- I know, weird, but I do consider the dog park as part of my social network.

They all wanted to know my secret receipe. I told them that is was no secret. I put the usual items in. Celery, onion, bread crumbs, and sausage. They said to me there was something else that was a certain flavor they loved. Then I remembered I put alot of white wine in the stuffing. I told my girlfriend the secret item. She said DO NOT TELL THEM. I asked why? She said that most of her family were recovering alcoholics. I had no idea and felt really bad about serving them the stuffing. Who knew?????

As far as Thanksgiving. Im doing my personal ritual every year. Im going to Boston Market the night before and getting my chicken and corn bread and then I make my own mac/cheese and open a can of green beans. I'll be heading to my parents as I do every year. I do have to work but I'll be getting off at 8 am and I took a vacation day for Friday so I won't have to go in at midnight Thanksgiving night. I know 2 of my brothers will be there with their family. My other brother may show if he doesn't have to work but his wife and children will be there even if he doesn't show. Not sure about my sister and her family. She may be flying down to FL to spend the holiday with her in laws. I'm planning on heading to my parents early so I can lend my Mom a hand with dinner. We always eat early...around 2 pm. That's just my parents usual dinner time. Then we clear the table, have coffee and play Scrabble. Lots of talk and laughter throughout the day. I'm looking forward to it.

Sometimes holidays are over rated. We are supposed to be totally enjoying them; afterall that is what we see on TV and in other media that we are supposed to have a wonderful freaking day. And sometimes we just don't feel like getting into it and try to live up to expectations.

Maybe ask your kids what they would like to do. Maybe they might come up with something that sounds like fun for everyone but without all the work and expectations.

A few months after my mother died; it was time to do Christmas for my kids who were between the ages of 16 and 9. I was dreading it. So I just asked them what they wanted to do. They came up with renting a cabin in the mountains; foregoing all the ususal stuff including a lot of gifts. Well we did it! And that holiday stands out in my mind more than most. We still had to do santa for the nine year old but my daughters both helped me pull it off for their first time doing santa and it was fun.

its going to be a tuff holiday season for me.. lost my brother to cancer last month sept 20th, he was always a big thanksgiving guy. lost my mother a few years ago nov 20th...my partner to cancer 2yrs ago she always made a huge thanksgiving. it seems thanksgiving has turned into a day of rememberance for me. ill be spending it with some close friends, two straight couples that are always trying to set me up. shound be fun, but i do know what will be in the back of my mind.

yeah for friday!! i dont think stone has anything to do with it.. me personaly i think to many people have gotten umm .. for a loss of better word "lazy" in thier dating habits. i know i feel i have in the past. counting on the computer to do all the work for me instead of actually putting on my best getting out there and meeting people. i would instead toss a few things out on a dating site and wait for replies.. didnt work for me either.. met a few stalkers and some very strange ones. i feel there is no one "like me" within 100 miles of where i live. being stone and very close to male id'd i may end up falling back into dating straight women. in the past for me this has caused nothing but proplems, fights with hetro guys, being put down for who i am an what i love. i dont want to go to jail for fighting "again" so ill sit back in the "lazy" roll and hope someone comes my way putting me,my dog, my harley,my home and my truck befor dating.. usually keeps me busy an happy and i know eventuly if its meant to be for me it will happen when it should.

For me Thanksgiving is just another day so far no one in my family has invited me to come over. I think I will stay home yet another year!! Last year the trustee of the trust fund invited me to her daughter's house in Ringwood which is far to say the least and really really dark at night couldn't find my way back home that evening so not really looking forward to it!! I really celebrate the Jewish Holidays more then anything at this point in my life!! hope all the singles are having a good day..

I will spend Thanksgiving at our family ranch in Northern California. What is great about this is that there is room there for us to gather and it is pretty central for all of us to travel to.

If it turns out to be a nice day, all the kids can run and scream and just be kids outside. If not, they will do the same, inside! A football game will be blaring in one room with some that enjoy this and some kind of rivalry will most likely be going on. My sister’s grandchildren will make time to play checkers or just sit with her husband that has Alzheimer’s. Shit, they are starting to do some things like this with me because of my damn arthritis!

The Holidays are a time that I do get to see family and this means a lot to me. There is always reverence paid to those we have lost, lots of laughter, catching up, hugs, tears, arguing, and great food!

We all have things that have been passed down generationally that we cook for each other and family traditions passed on to children, like preparing and serving antipasto, using dishes from my parents and their parents. The basil used is still from seed my own father’s gardening produced that was from his Grandfather in Italy! Yes, one of my adult nephews has made certain that the seeds are preserved each year for this and he also produces olive oil and imported trees from the regions of Italy my Mom and Dad were from. Now, he is working on getting some from Chile as we have uncovered family “secrets” about a part of our family that was hidden from us. He is doing this as a way to combat the internal racism that surrounded this occurring in our family. You don’t have to let wrongs continue and this begins at home! We are hoping that new found family from the east coast will be at the table for Christmas.

I always talk about the "First Thanksgiving" in terms of how Native Americans were treated and continue to be treated. Education begins in all of our homes, within the family. Correcting what is left out in school curriculums is up to all of us.


Elders do sit at the head of the tables and I am proud to be given one of those seats. Younger members learn of the relatives they are too young to have known. We want them to have a sense of our family history, their culture. We bring favorite photos to share.

It is also a time that we reflect together on how much we do have to be thankful for as a family. Arguments over politics will run rampant! We have differences just like everyone, but, there has always been a deep love between us that transcends these differences. We do have each other's backs and always have.

I am very fortunate to have the family that I do and never take this for granted. So many other people just do not have this as a foundation and that makes me sad. Perfect, we are not, proud of our heritage and contributions as a family to our communities and each other, we are. I would not trade my deep love of family garnished with immigrant history for anything.


There will be many stories about those that we have lost and as usual, I will miss my parents, brother and one sister sitting with me and the “clan.” But they are with us.

No, it isn't just another day to me.

When I was younger, my family and I would drive up to my greatgrandmother's house and have Thanksgiving and Christmas there. When my parents seperated and then divorced, my brothers and I would go to our mom's house on Christmas Eve <it is something we still do> and our dad's house on Christmas Day. After my dad passed away eight years ago, my middle brother decided not to join us and we respected his wishes. I just remember the fun we used to have and how we would do things afterwards once we were old enough to drive. Now we go to the movies after spending the day with my mom or we go bowling. That is something I missed while living in Orlando for seven years and now I am home on the East Coast and I am loving it...

Thanksgiving is my favorite of all the holidays. I love the cooking, cleaning and making plans to celebrate! We've had several very stressful holidays in my family over the past years, and for the first time in many, my entire family will gather at my parents home! I'm grateful they are making the effort to travel, our parents are elderly and have been ill this year, it's time we gathered together!

I'm on call, the holidays are a stressful, emotional time and I no doubt will be working.

This may sound lame, but hear me out? if you are alone and/or lonely, please try to find a community outreach that needs volunteers this day? I've never had such a wonderful experience (gut wrenching yes) as giving to those in need and being with those truly less fortunate on a special holiday. They gave to me, and opened my eyes. Try it, you may really like it :)

I never had lessons. I just bought a chord book, started with a few and after mastering those I moved on and added a new set. Too bad you live so far from me. We could have played together. And you'll improve, as long as you practice. Obviously, how much you improve will depend upon how much time you devote to practicing. Good luck.

My Dad left when I was 12 years old. My Mom always would set a place for him at the table. I would ask her why she did it and that I knew Dad would not come. She said he may surprise us one day. If not, he will be here in spirit. Dad never did make it all those years. Oh well I am sure he feels the guilt now that he is much older. You can never get time back.

Good Morning Singles hope those that are sick are on the mend and resting up. I just got my flu shot this past week and that knocked me for a loop, side effects I guess!! Yes those of us that are alone should meet up in the chat room on Thanksgiving day or evening that would be nice. I will cook for us some turkey and dressing and pie! I happened to meet someone a few years ago that has become a dear friend... and... is pushing me with my music. I know Sunny, it's crazy!!! I'm ready to :whine:, I'm hoping it won't stay this way!!! I work for the State of Texas in Insurance and Retirement. And as most in the world know, there is a lot going on with insurance right now, so we are getting slammed. I wish people could just feel confident that we will let them know anything that is going to affect them and not listen to rumors, but then, I guess they wouldn't be being true to who they are. :praying: It HAS to slow down eventually. Thank goodness I'm a set M-F 8:00 - 4:30. :)

Have to bring my old cat in for his kidney blood work. Always get a little upset even though I do this every 3 months with him and know he will eventually leave me due to kidney failure. I think this time, I will be starting to give him sub-q fluids every day instead of every other depending on the results. He has started to drink a lot more, again. But, he is also still his sassy self in many ways.

Thank you. Interesting, I think he "gets" that it helps him to feel better. he is a very sweet old fellow. today at the vet he was very calm while having blood drawn. I just sang "our" song- I made up one when he first came home with me and it always seems to calm him. Yes, silly, but, my pets are my guys!

When I first rescused him, 15 yearsrs ago, he had a big scrape on his nose and the vet that patched him up had to de-claw him because he must have been stuck in something (his head)- maybe a tin can. So, his frony paws were a mess and the vet neded to clean them up and do stitching. Poor kitten! He was so malnurished.

But, he is a handsome boy! His nose has character, I think and his paws are kind of stbby, but work just fine.

I just hope his tests come back with some good news in terms of the decline of kidney function. I really want him around for a few more years. Don't mind doing the sub-q at all for him. In fact, he purrs while getting the fluids. yes, I sing the song then, too!

My kitty hated getting his subq's, even though it made him feel better. Another kitty of mine was a diabetic and I had to give her insulin shots 2 times a day. She learned to like her shots.

So far it has been a winterize the house day....and then I discovered I didnt have the shrinkable plastic for the windows with air conditioners in them. Guess it will be a visit the hardware store day tomorrow to get the rest of the supplies I need.

I was reading back to the question about dating sites. I never used one tho I visited a few. It was never clear to me on what basis they decided who was a good match for you...i.e. proximity, age, sexual preference etc. It's a complicated thing to match folks up. Plus, I noticed there are some things I want to know up front that just werent in the questions asked.

Even tho it is the age of high tech gadgetry, I still prefer the old fashioned way of meeting people.

Sure is!!! He and his wife and girls will be arriving soon!! We do a celebration together for each and every good result!! Rain, snow, doesn't matter!

Amazing... he has all the NFL channels to watch the Steelers on, but he knows he better get his butt down here for our celebration!!! Think he might have some kind of truck radio that he can listen to it over when driving, though!!

LOL... his kids get to miss school tomorrow!

So far it has been a winterize the house day....and then I discovered I didnt have the shrinkable plastic for the windows with air conditioners in them. Guess it will be a visit the hardware store day tomorrow to get the rest of the supplies I need.

I was reading back to the question about dating sites. I never used one tho I visited a few. It was never clear to me on what basis they decided who was a good match for you...i.e. proximity, age, sexual preference etc. It's a complicated thing to match folks up. Plus, I noticed there are some things I want to know up front that just werent in the questions asked.

Even tho it is the age of high tech gadgetry, I still prefer the old fashioned way of meeting people.

I just got home from the Medieval Feast wow what a lot of food too. Those people ate like pigs we had everything but the kitchen sink. Salmon, figs cooked in wine, swiss chard, lots of veggies and some soft kind of cheese, my guess it was mascapone because it sure tasted like it!! The next thing is the Channukah party on Dec 4th which should be good.

Its so annoying all the time. I know that the dog has issues with his thyroid and Cushings but still I need a break from time to time. Maybe you should see a doc tomorrow for some meds but if its the flu there is really nothing they can do for you, its viral not infectious which would require antibiotics.

Gift cards to some restaurant. My parents are always hard to shop for. Oooh, I just had an idea. I'll start making my Christmas gift list. Then shower, pack my lunch and out the door. Looks like everybody has been busy today. I was WORKING!!!!!! I know you feel sorry for me. I am really sick. Have an annoying cough and my nose is running like a faucet. Went to the Doc today and he gave me cough medicine and an antibiotic. They are like horse pills!

I just had dinner. Guess what I had? Asparagus..... I am getting ready, you know what I am talking about Lipstixgal. LOL
I also had a kandykake for dessert


I asked Linus about the chat room idea. He said he would create a chatroom just for us singles. Let you know about it as soon as I do.

Stopping in after my 2 grand daughters are both asleep and my son and wife took off to a hotel (Yanno, "time away from the kids!!!"). We'll have breakfast together and another beautiful day before they go back home. Actually, the girls don't have school tomorrow, so they will just miss Tuesday. We made popcorn and giggled!!! Geez, they are not my little "2-Bugs" any more- both growing and maturing!

I'm glad you went to the doctor and got put on some meds, even if they are horse pills. I've noticed that most anitbotics are horse pills.

Good Morning. Finally home from work. I grabbed the wrong set of truck keys last night..the ones withOUT the house keys on it. I had to grab the ladder and climb up onto the awning so I could crawl through a bedroom window that was left unlocked. Then I changed out of my work clothes and watched Dexter on demand. I think I'll go lift some weights and then climb into bed and relax until bedtime. Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

I just got off of horse pills myself for a UTI it was cipro and yes they were big. Rain tomorrow I hope it rains in the afternoon not the morning, how are you feeling thus far CF??

Its a boring day again. No sleep at night because of sleep apnea so I have to wait for the report to be generated which takes forever!! A mask is in my future for me but at this point I can't wait so I can get some sleep. Even if I take a nap I still wake up...
