Yesterday I spent most of the day doing laundry and housework but actually enjoyed it, which is weird for me because I normally hate housework! I guess it was a sign that I was feeling better (after being sick for a couple of days), so it felt good just to be productive!

Then I played poker, which is my absolute favorite pasttime, however, yesterday it was just weird LOL

Today I opened presents, played poker online (much more fun than playing live yesterday!), and made pork fried rice for dinner :)

Tonight I'm going to hang out with a friend and probably eat way too many cookies! :)

I had a wonderful day, got confirmation today that my thirteen year old nephew and ten year old niece will be coming down on Monday for nine days. I cannot wait! My mom and I are driving three hours to meet their mom. Then I came home, and found a sheriff's deputy in my driveway. The neighbors have two pits and the make pit got loose and charged after one if the kids in my yard. Thank goodness the girl's mom was outside.

I brought home a container of homemade fudge.

The police station? I'm not sure if they would know the names of good ones to shovel? :blink:

I'd ask around, a neighbour might know a helpful teen who would be interested..or the local school (when it gets back in session) might be able to offer the assistance of someone who is trustworthy and close by to help you out and earn some extra money.

I'd say b/w ten and fifteen an hour would be worth a teen's time to do some shovelling for you.

I'm so excited to go back to VA. I told everyone that that was the only thing I wanted for Christmas. We have a little bit of snow here (just a dusting) but you should see the people freaking out

I saw on the news that NYC is going to get 2 feet of snow. That will definitly cripple the city. Good thing I have a Jeep it was great on the back roads in the snow. When I got to my complex the snow was up to my knees. They did not shovel at all. I hope they close my job tomorrow. Everyone meditate that they close. Could use a snow day. LOL

You're right, I did get one of my Christmas wishes! I can't wait to go. Not sure how long I'll be there or when I'm going...just know its in the Spring and thats a beautiful time in the DC area. Maybe I'll be there for Cherry Blossom time!

Hmm, don't know if this will be any help but try this link and see if you can find a local Boy Scouts organization, give the leader a call and see if they are doing any sort of volunteer work in snow removal.

its not fun being sick in that truck.... been there done that 2 x now.... 1st time.. omg... i couldnt get out of bed.. and good thing my daugter was on a road trip with me.. i was sending her into the store to get me things.. lol
while i stayed in bed and just naped watched a lil tv.. napped.. had soup.. that was a few yrs ago.
anyways... speaking of the truck... i have to take all my things there later this morning,, and get to organizing and re arranging things in there...
not sure if i should take my wreath off the front of the truck just yet.... maybe after new yrs. :)

Ya'll be careful with that zinc stuff, you can give yourself zinc poisoning if you ingest too much, here's just a little info and what to look out for.

For healthy adults, the daily recommended amount of zinc ranges between 12 and 15 milligrams. Most people are able to get the necessary amount of zinc naturally, through eating foods which have absorbed zinc. Others may take dietary supplements to increase their zinc intake. Dietary zinc appears in most multivitamins and also as a plain pill. It is unusual for people to experience zinc poisoning due to ingestion of dietary zinc, as long as the dosage recommendations of a doctor are followed.

Zinc is an intestinal irritant, and the first sign of zinc poisoning is usually intestinal distress. This includes vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and nausea. Further symptoms of zinc poisoning are low blood pressure, urine retention, jaundice, seizures, joint pain, fever, coughing, and a metallic taste in the mouth. If these symptoms appear and exposure to zinc is suspected, the person affected should be given lots of milk or water and taken to a hospital. A poison control center can give a referral to a hospital, along with other suggestions for making the patient comfortable.

YOu can't see the doctor until next week?? maybe you could go to the emergent clinic down there I'm sure they have one!! YOu need to get on some antibiotics soon!! I wish I was a doctor so I could write you the prescription CF...

Hugs and get to feeling better! Jack Daniels will help that cough and open your sinuses. Have you tried TheraFlu? Also try Zyrtec, I found that opens up my sinuses when I am sick.

How have you been? I see you have been having a rough time with the snow. You have to be careful when shoveling. I had to go into work the day of the storm as well as the day after. I got myself out only to find out they closed down for the day at work. Oh well.
I would call your synagogue and see if they have someone to help you. I had a Jewish girl friend once and I was amazed how they helped each other. They are a great resource. I would have helped you but I have busy working. I feel for you. There is nothing like feeling trapped in your own home. Be well. Dr. Sunny says so.

Its been awful being trapped in your house with all exits blocked but thank g-d neighbors have helped me out and the synagague is helping me too with trying to get me some help when the time comes around again!! I am aching and sore and very tired from it all and trying to take care of my doggies are time consuming as well but thank you for your kind words!! It much appreciated..

Yes I have been bored. Thankfully, it has been gorgeous down here, so I can atleast go outside and power walk. I have also been keeping in touch with friends from here and planning my mom a surprise birthday present. I called the doctor's office back and told them that next week isn't acceptable and asked for the address of the closest Urgent Care Center

I just got back from the Urgent Care Center. I have a full blown case of bronchitis, which I had already figured. The doctor put me on some meds called Z-Pac and for my cough, he gave me Tusin (codiene cough syrup). I'm supposed to rest and take it easy and drink lots of liquids. He did tell me this is going around....again, I already figured that lol

Glad that your dr gave you the name and number of a Urgent Care facility. They are the one's who told me that I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic my dentist put me on.

I have nothing planned for new years and that's just fine with me....I'm sore and achy from shoveling and my firbro hurts me so I am staying in bed where I can rest so that this goes away..CF hope your feeling better soon, maybe you need nebulizer treatments to open your bronchioles up and let you breathe better. You can get a nebulizer through your doctor if you are coughing that bad..I'm going to lay back down because of the pain...see you later..

Zyrtec is over the counter medication for sinuses and congestion so maybe that would help you but if you are not breathing well then its something else I hope you feel better CF..

I am single and you know I am perfectly ok with that. I would not mind dating as that can be a lot of fun. But I have trust issues that I cannot seem to work through. Though it is not entirely my bad; met quite a few wimmen that proved to be untrustworthy so I am disallusioned as well.

For example you meet someone, you find that you have a lot in common, have fun, go out on a few dates, start talking on the phone daily then all of a sudden you discover that she has been on the prowl all along with many others and suddenly a new person is her lover and has moved into the apartment. Like wtf? Why did she not have the courage to tell me she was seeing other people and actually was very involved? PEOPLE got to get honest with the ones who have put their trust in you and it is better if they hear the truth fron you than someone else.

So yes I have trust issues; rightfully so. But that does not mean I will not continue to work on me; to work on honing the skills I need to not trust someone right off the back and acquire the ability to see through the BS immediately. My life is precious to me and so is my time so I have to stop letting others waste it for me. So dating someone just for fun is fine with me. Letting it go further will need greater consideration. *sigh*
