I have had to quit watching the news or seek out the drama on news websites because it started bringing me down. I think that's all the news information is about these days. The more we panic about worldly events, the worse things get.

I bet if everyone turned off the news for one week; other than local news and weather, things would start to improve in this country. People get addicted to the drama and gossip....it's just an icky feeling.

So, hows about we just enjoy this wonderful Tuesday and be thankful for the things we have; like, each other!! There's a good start! Have a wonderful day full of positive thoughts, vibes, and actions!!

So tonight is Powerball!!!!!! We are going to play at my job...... I wonder how many people quit thier jobs if they won a very large amount in the lottery????? We had some workers that won the powerball and they all left thier jobs.... It created 7 openings.

Sorry I haven't been around in a few days. It has been hectic at work and I am still not liking having to wake up at 4am for work...:readfineprint:. This wild schedule my boss has me working is causing issues with my eating habits. Yesterday, one of the girl's took longer on her lunch break, which through my break back an hour. Around noon yesterday, my blood sugar dropped and I still haven't been able to maintain it. So I have been very sick the last two days and I almost left work early today because of it.

I passed my panel interview on Monday and now I will start my new job sometime next week and I am looking forward to it! I will have a set schedule after training and I won't have to work the am shift anymore, woohoo! I can maintain my exercise program to keep weight off and I can feel better!

My vaca was great! Blue skies and cornfields all weekend, and I got to go fishing every day. Granted, I had three fancy outfits I didn't even take out of the suitcase, but it was awesome getting to wear jeans and shorts for 5 days so I didn't mind too much.

Congrats on the lady you are dating! She's very lucky. I think after we get a certain age, its harder to find someone because as Cody says we all develop our own lives and there's not as much time. You can also have it in the Smokey Mountains. I went camping outside of Cherokee, NC and it was gorgeous. My family and I drove across the Blue Ridge Parkway into Gatlinburg, TN and spent the day. We also went sight seeing and picked up souvenirs along the way. Very gorgeous place!

Yes it is gorgeous scenery, minus the spiders! I stayed outside of Cherokee for nine days and I still have the dream catcher necklace set that my bio dad bought me. I will be road tripping it up to Memphis, TN and then off to Little Rock for the reunion...It is going to be an exciting trip and I feel bad for the states that we drive through, hehe...

Washington offers many excellent camping and cabin-ing opportunities. We are approaching the wet season west of the Cascades, but east of the mountains it stays a lot drier -- the temperatures really drop off in November though. The area around Wenatchee is nice and Lake Chelan is amazing.

For a non-camping option, my favorite place on the coast is this (http://www.quileuteoceanside.com/). It offers a range of options from rustic camper A-frames to a few luxury cabins. This is a place that can be good any time of year. It can be a fantastic place for storm-watching in the winter. The last time I was there the sea-foam was almost waist-deep in places.

I'm sure Oregon is just as good (well, almost as good). I just don't know as much about it.

I have great memories of camping when I was a kid.
I scared the Femmy little girls by telling them stories before bed time. I told them about the bears and snakes. If that did not get them, the homicidal maniac wandering through the woods at night would surely get them LOL Then they would sleep next to me to feel protected. LOL
One true story of camping: I went with three couples. I was single at the time. I had a little pup tent. I stayed up late looking at fire. Everyone else went to bed. A racoon came by the fireplace and I told him to get home. Not realizing the woods were his home. I went to bed and that little bugger kept clawing his way around my tent. I ran out of my tent to my station wagon. I climbed in the back and pulled the seat down so I could stretch out. I got caught in between the front seat and the rear one for awhile and started to panic. I was able to get loose and went to sleep. In the morning my friends were looking for me. I was awakened by a shrill scream. One of my friends saw movement in the back of my wagon not realizing it was me. LOL

They keep saying that we'll be getting part of hurricane Irene then they change their minds and say we won't be...I'll be taking the stuff I have off my balcony today just in case....

Good morning everybody! I hope every one enjoys a great day!

I have been to a cabin resort similar to that one letter. It was in Asheville, NC. Ohh so beautiful. It had a jacuzzi outside the cabin on a balcony. I also been to a couple in Colorado in the Rocky Mountains by streams of water. I love cabins! I find peace and quiet and take my ipod or a good book and get lost in nature and enjoy every minute of it. . clears my head and gets me in touch with myself and nature.

The best camping trip I went on was in November last year. A group of 10 or so of us went up to ringing rocks and built a big ole fire, went exploring through the woods with headlamps looking for kindling, and cooked "banana boats" in foil. I made a huge pot of mulled cider with "snap" liquor and whipped cream vodka. It was so flipping cold the only thing to do was to smush really close to whomever you were sharing tent space with. It was really great!











I have great memories of camping when I was a kid.
I scared the Femmy little girls by telling them stories before bed time. I told them about the bears and snakes. If that did not get them, the homicidal maniac wandering through the woods at night would surely get them LOL Then they would sleep next to me to feel protected. LOL
One true story of camping: I went with three couples. I was single at the time. I had a little pup tent. I stayed up late looking at fire. Everyone else went to bed. A racoon came by the fireplace and I told him to get home. Not realizing the woods were his home. I went to bed and that little bugger kept clawing his way around my tent. I ran out of my tent to my station wagon. I climbed in the back and pulled the seat down so I could stretch out. I got caught in between the front seat and the rear one for awhile and started to panic. I was able to get loose and went to sleep. In the morning my friends were looking for me. I was awakened by a shrill scream. One of my friends saw movement in the back of my wagon not realizing it was me. LOL

I remember when Charley hit Orlando, Tampa and the Daytona Beach area in 2004. We lost cell phone towers and my mom and youngest bro had no power or water for a week. We had a tree blow over and block the stairwell to my apartment, and the whole apartment complex flooded, thank God I was on the second floor. It was a mess and ever since then, we take hurricanes over a Category 2 seriously. Good luck and be safe to all of you in that storms path!

I have a bunch of supplies for me and the cats...I also cleared everything off my balcony so things don't go flying off from the wind. I wish I had a good butch to check on me but there seems to be a shortage of good butches in SC. Anyway, have a good Friday and be safe!

I'm fortunate enough to live in the middle of Canada where I've never had to experience earthquakes or hurricanes, though I don't envy anyone who lives in those areas. Sure I still deal with bad thunderstorms (and I hate storms), tornadoes (even though I've never really seen or been close to one) and ver cold weather in the winter but I'd take all of those anyday over hurricanes and earthquakes ~ sending My love, thoughts and well wishes to anyone who has been effected lately by these natural disasters!
