I'm currently going through this. I have days, where I just sit in my makeshift room and cry. I had a damn good job, my own place and great friends. I'm now living with my best friend, her family and my job sucks. I'm thankful for my best friend who is allowing me to stay with her until I can get back on my feet. My breakup was like a divorce, and I'm learning slowly how to forgive everyone who hurt me during this period. Keep your chin up and cry when you need to, because I do.

I'm very thankful for my family, friends and my Babygirl pup. I go home everyday to a 5lb Chihuahua, who is my little girl. I've also decided to not rush into another relationship and enjoys time as a single person ��

I ended up working all weekend! Boo I say! I celebrated with my old coworker and his fiancé on Friday when SCOTUS, came back and said they could get married. I'm so happy for them and everyone else who can now get married!

I had a very good day, today. Picked my six year old nephew up and he spent the day playing with my best friend's children. We then took him to see the fireworks. He is such a blessing! His mom took several drugs while she was pregnant with him and as a result, she no longer has custody of him. My mom has raised him since he was two months old, and the doctor's believe he is autistic. He's super smart and gets very excited over anything.

so, here is what I have realized, the same people (including me)are all on the same sights. Many times with different names, different ages, etc.

I think that I have to dump some of them because seeing all the same people is beginning to seem weird to me. I also realize that if I focus on one or two I am not missing out on anyone to meet.

Not sure this is for me, I haven't seen anyone "grab" me yet. lol

I've met partners in a variety of places. Mainly online but also in high school and college and at a bar. Oh, and at a recruiter's office.

The older I get, the more introverted I think I'm becoming. When I'm approached with a social setting, I'm good and mingle, but I don't actively seek it out. It's not because I don't want to; it because I don't want to take a chance with my life.

Hey ProfPacker, I think you're right; it's the same pool of people in most of the sites, or let's say if you made a Venn diagram of all the sites, there would be more overlap than not.

I have a theory that it's more productive to look for communities you gel with, than individuals.

Although my dogs cuddle with me and I have no space at night, I miss a human body cuddling with me.

But I am also at a certain point in my life where I have realized that some women still play games and I don't play games well. I am too old for that now. I have never had a relationship due to social anxiety disorder being severe in my teens and 20s. Now In my 30s I have reached a place I can date or have a relationship. But my inexperience is a major wall between me and women. A wall I cant see but they can and when they do they high tail it outta here lol.

I covered this issue more in depth in a topic i posted in the Dating forum so I wont repeat it. But it definately sucks when your told how amazing you are , how cute etc. And when they ask about experience I dont have but one brief date earlier this year. I go from an amazing woman to discard pile.

Its very lonely honestly . Never having recieved affection at all makes me feel like im in some sort of bubble. Hell only affection I ever got was holding hands earlier this year with the one woman I dated briefly that had social anxiety to. I cant put into words how nice it was just for someone to hold my hand. Might sound pathetic , but when you have been lonely as long as I have its just the way it is.

But I havent lost faith theres someone for me somewhere. But they will have to beable to accept me they way iam , inexperience and all. I think Im a pretty good catch myself ;)

Being single does not bother me. I have my life, my career, my animals, etc.

I think I can relate. I didn't date in High School or College. Most of my "dating" was a short stretch years ago when I first identified as butch. I stayed self-medicated with alcohol, which luckily didn't back-fire. I still don't feel well equipped to "date," but I'm trying to socialize more. I think my goal is to build friendships and if one of those friendships leads to dating, great. Not sure how I will handle it when I get to that point, but I have time to figure it out.

I didn't date at all in HS. And only a little in college. I've had 2 girlfriends ever. And I don't feel like I am equipped to date. I don't feel I know how to go about it.

I haven't been on a date in 4 years. And while, in my mind, I have an idea of what I am looking for. And an idea of how I think it should feel, or progress. I also feel totally out of my league when it comes to the actual reality of the situation.

Well, there was the girl in Orlando that would only hold hands. I think that she had self-image issues with her grill so there was no mouth on mouth kissing. No nookie there either. That was less than a month. There were other issues but the lack of intimacy was a strong factor.

My first butch and I dated with nothing more than petting and that only came after months of dating.

But the feeling I get from the women that get to know me is that they just dont want to teach or they dont know how to handle me. And Ive been told the latter by one " i just dont know what to do with you , I dont want to scare you"

That right there is super annoying that 95% of them have said something similar along the lines of me being afraid. And until they pulled the truth out of me about my dating past , they didnt even know. And never said anything like that and treated me normal.

It depends on the circumstances. Using your example, I wouldn't care about demographics or singledom because it's not about me. If I were volunteering somewhere, it is about that cause and the people that it will help. I'm not a part of the equation and neither are the other volunteers.

If I'm attending something that is more entertainment than purpose, then those factors may come into play more. It would honestly depend on how I felt in that moment before I left for the event, if I would be the only person I knew there, et cetera. If I'm going somewhere and I've agreed to meet a friend, I wouldn't dream of canceling on them, no matter who else was there and how old they were or weren't.

Some events can be tough if you are basically the ONLY person outside of a particular age bracket or if you are the ONLY person there by yourself. When I decide whether to go to something, the other people are not really even part of the equation for me. Mostly, is the drive going to annoy me is what I think. Will someone try to kill me on the way there goes through my mind. Basically, personal safety trumps any other card in the deck when I decide whether to go out and attend a function.

Mel.C. , the lgbt church i attend has a varied congregation in more ways that one and that includes age. I notice most of the women , if notall around my age are married or in a relationship. And the rest are quite a bit older than me. The woman i was intrested in that turned me.down was in her 40s , im 31.

But i do feel very lonely when i go. Especially if she comes up and hugs me trying to be friendly. I would almost rather she just doesnt touch me at all which may sound weird . But its emotionally painful.

But i just sit and watch them all hugging and greeting eachother and its like im sitting still while the world spins around me. But i make myself socialize. It may hurt me to watch everyone else mingle. To watch couples hold hands or hug eachother. But if i didnt go out and atleast try i would just isolate alone at home. So no.matter what i do i hurt. But atleast out there maybe somebody will.notice me eventually

And yes i attend events where ages vary greatly. And when there are women my age they already have a girlfriend or wife.

They were a crazy group of Hispanic ladies. They were from Puerto Rico, Columbia, Mexico and Domnican Republic. When they disagreed on something, it would become very loud 😜 I've decided to take tomorrow off from my job. I've been working close to three weeks straight with no day off and it's catching up to me. I'm thinking s movie is what I need!!

Good Evening to all of us! Hope everyone is having a great Friday. What are your plans for this weekend? I'm calling out tomorrow from my job so I can have a day off!!! While out shopping with my mom, I weighed myself. Since I gave up sugar and drinking cup after cup of foo foo drinks at Starbucks, I have lost ten pounds!! This is an accomplishment for me since I work at Starbucks �� Today at Starbucks, my supervisors had me on bar for eight hours and I killed it. As I was leaving, my supervisor stopped me, gave me a high five and complimented me on my bar skills. I came home to play with my Babygirl pup and treat myself to a brownie...What good movies are playing?

When they would talk, it would be at a fast pace with hand gestures and the loudest person out of the group, was my supervisor from Columbia. The one who was thr most stubborn was Conchi from Mexico. The girl I got along with the best was Jesi who is from Puerto Rico.

I'm going to see what movie is playing today and go watch it. I actually my two jobs. Out of the two of them, my job with a French company, L'Occitane en Provence allows me to be more creative. Starbucks also encouraged you to be creative and I have become pretty good at latte art.

Well I was hoping to recover from going to Vegas last weekend, that's not going to happen. I went out last night to a kinky party. I have to work this morning for a few hours. Then I have to ride my bicycle for 2 hours. I have a technician coming to my house to fix something. Tonight I have another kinky party to go to. Then tomorrow morning I have a brick training workout Swim, Bike and Run. After that I get to watch the Cowboys and Rangers play :)

Hey there...I'm pretty sure most of you know about the MeetUp groups that are out there...well I went to one this past weekend and I have to say I had a blast. I met some people that are alot of fun and can help me expand my social circle. That can't be all bad....lol.

The Meetup groups in my area are not good. :( The main LGBT group is mostly men and doesn't meet very often. There is one lesbian group, but it's all femmes or non-butch people. I didn't like it.

So.. I have had a lot of success with my knitting meetup groups... Sunday is the first 'lesbian' group event I have signed up for and I am REALLY nervous. I will not make an effort to go out. I went to the meet up group here a few times and they are mostly couples. When I missed a meeting, they sent a message out about missing meetings. LMAO.... Unless I am EXTREMELY into it/you... don't count on me to always show up.

Today I saw my boss at Starbucks cry. Even though her and I disagree, a customer shoved her and swung at her. I have never knew the term, Starbucks family, until today. Several customers came to her rescue and got the customer out of the store until the police arrived. We had a very crazy day and I am sitting here watching a show on Beijing.

Yes :( And I could not figure out why people were staring at me oddly. I just assumed it was all in my head, but then I looked at myself in the car mirror :| (and btw the sun greatly enhances the difference between a bare face and a made up face.)

Hi Singles!

I like being single. I don't have to cook if I don't want to, I don't have to clean if I don't want to, I can work 100 hours a week if I want to..... I have a freedom that I have never had before.

My kids, their ladies and the granddaughters came over on Thanksgiving for pie, cookies, treats and alcoholic beverages. I love having them all together.

And, my vacation next year will be a cruise..... by myself..... I am not going to stop doing what I love....
