The phone call to my apartment complex office asking them to clear the ice from the stairs by my apartment resulted in the clearing of not only the stairs, but the sidewalk too and ice melt being put down.

Next week I am going to show my appreciation by having a pizza lunch delivered to the maintenance crew and office staff.

Last night I sent out some "feeler" emails to some agencies listed on the National Health Service Corps website to see what kind of response I would get and if they still had openings. Brief letter stating intent and that I am not looking to relocate until the summer and attached my resume. First thing this morning I had responses from all of them wanting to do interviews. I replied to all the emails with times I am available next week for a phone interview (since the weather isn't conducive to driving in the Appalachians)and also restated that I am not looking to relocate until the summer in case I didn't make it clear because I don't want to mislead them that I am available right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are still interested. I'm all about planning and it would be nice to know things sooner rather than later.

I was blessed last night (by the time I write this) with the love of a special woman. I tell myself I am single because I don't want to get hurt but damn, she's got me all tied up in knots thinking about her all day and night.

I so enjoy her company. We can just sit and talk, cook dinner together, put dishes away, make the bed, work on laundry even...I just love spending time with her. going to a different beach today..while there I met a couple who are from Canada, they was just sittin there. by their camper, staring out into the ocean. I had my dog with me and they asked if they could pet him...of course i said yes. I ended up sitting there and talked to them for a long time. they have been married for 35 years and yet they sat there holding hands. a really nice couple. really glad i had a chance to meet them and talk to them. very interesting couple

Spending the day with my grand daughter and seeing her being able to breath easier. Still nebulizer treatments every two hours for the next two weeks, then down to 1 nebulizer treatment every 4 hours. She goes back in Monday for a recheck and they are going to do a chest x-ray. Not sure why they didn't do one this morning... You can beat whatever this is...

Lisa and I made a mini-book for her cousin, and we had just shipped it....She thought it would be a small mini-book like her grandmother's, but we had the pleasure of hearing her squeals of joy on the phone as she unwrapped her book. Lisa and I made a mini-book for her cousin, and we had just shipped it....She thought it would be a small mini-book like her grandmother's, but we had the pleasure of hearing her squeals of joy on the phone as she unwrapped her book. Sitting at my "home office" (the dining table) catching up on a very hectic week at work. Uncle Terri is asleep in the guest room after having a rather interesting "Cannonball Run"-style road trip yesterday and my honeybunz, Jackhammer, just called me from work to tell me she cut her finger and wants me to pet her when she gets home.

There are steaks marinating for later (and a veggie burger for the veggieButch among us!) and my orange dog is guarding the front door.

I'm smiling because my life is happy. I am supremely happy in this moment surrounded by a career that I love (the career, NOT the hours!), people that I love, a house that I love, a loyal and constant companion in my orange dog-love machine, and a heart that is fulfilled and happy.

The daughter came over to apologize and thank me

Apparently an adult calling the police actually signifies

We all know she cant help it and everything can get cleaned up very easily. She is what matters. I love my family and friends. I was very moved by how easy this moment happened. Getting on the scale after eating healthier for a few weeks (a salad once to twice a day, LOTS of water, no soda, a rare fried food or sweet and in moderation) and finding I've lost 11 pounds :)

Pedometers came in the mail today - used points I gained at work for logging food and exercise (they have a program to help their employees with their health like offering the food journal, exercise log, health risk assessment, free coaching for quitting smoking AND they pay for you gum/patches) to buy them, so essentially my hard work for me two free pedometers :) One for the boi and I.

I got fed up today when my scale read 222 lb..No way I gained 10 lbs overnight! So I went out and bought a new scale - I weighed in at 205. WOOHOO! I was kinda concerned this whole time wondering how I was supposed to be 220-230 when I'm still wearing the same pant size I have been the last 6 months (and I know from prior experience that if I am up in that range I'm more like 18/20)

SO super happy that my new scale tells the truth :)
