Talked with a friend about financial stuff - finally decided I need to put myself on a better budget and created a savings account - so now I have a 'bills' account, a 'wedding budget' account (both with set amounts going in them), and a 'spending' account for misc stuff. Now debating if I should contribute money to the 401k I had to roll over from my last job, or let it be as I have an employer-matched 401k at my current job (I put in 3% - it's the most I can put in that they'll match 100%).

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I just got my grades and I got A's in ALL OF MY CLASSES:) The BEST birthday present EVER!!

I got to work today to find the ceiling was leaking MUCH worse than it has over the past 3 months.... the Nurses convinced me that my boss would be okay with me packing up and working from home.... my boss later called; advised me that she is okay with it until they fix the roof (that may be 3 more months!!! YAYYYY!!!) ....

anyway.... I get home to find the carpenters working on the kitchen floor and the "junk guys" hauling off the scrap metal....

I'm not comfortable around strangers and tried to settle in so I could get to work.... what made me smile was my interactions with each one of the so called "strangers" that were helping us out.... they treated me with TOTAL respect, honor and dignity. I could feel that they were completely trustworthy and that I didn't need to be nervous around them. They displayed some wonderful, civilized manners that I don't see very often any more from total strangers.

Since I've been ripped off several times by repair-persons, I'm very leery.... today, my faith was renewed and my day ended with feeling the awesome feeling of being respected.

I don't want to say or equate it to "Southern Manners or Southern Hospitality" because someone might misinterpret my meaning.... but given that I have lived above and below the Mason Dixon Line.... I can speak to my life experiences.... I have felt a difference. "Down here", I have felt that people are more friendly, more neighborly, more respectful at times, and more helpful when their neighbors need a hand.... I have nothing negative to say about the people I knew from my "city life up North"; I just think they get too busy with their own lives and don't stop to think that a little respect goes a long way (I get astonished that people in the North and South hardly ever say "excuse me" or "pardon me" any more.) Manners and Respect are admirable qualities; no matter what corner of the world you are from.

It's touching how people you take the time to get to know all pull together to help out when you need it, I've now got more friends on the hunt for a cooker so I can cook when I move into my own place.
Above all else, my wonderful family make me smile each and every day! They've done everything for me and with their help, it's all one step closer to me, one day very soon, sleeping in my own bedroom ...:seeingstars:

I know I also planted alot of chili plants tho,,waiting on that lol !

My entire household is learning German via Rosetta stone. It is so damn hilarious to hear voices throughout the house uttering German--poorly, I might add.

The car was quiet, I said "NO!" ............and I just started laughing hysterically, tears running down my face laughing becuse I was driving this carload of half deaf nuts around town for a farewell dinner and we couldn't find a place. A bike ride. Not just any bike ride but a bike ride longer than a mile or two on my new (to me) bike. She has now been 'christened' and will be Lady Haydock (in honour of the frame builder Roger Haydock) from here on in. She's such a refined 'lady'. She has a classy-chassis and rolls beautifully.

It's been many a year since I rode a proper road/touring bike; I've been riding hybrid/mountain bike type machines with low gearing and lots of rubber on the tarmac for a very long time. Lady H has significantly higher gearing and not a lot of rubber on the ground. I had forgotten how good it is to go so quickly...I almost un-nerved myself a couple of times :blink:. We had a fantastic ride around the greenery out beyond town, we got lost but it really didn't matter, I could still see Blackpool Tower so had a location marker. It felt good to get some proper mileage in. I can't wait to ride again tomorrow.

I celebrated today with loving caring friends. A freind baked me a Red velvet cake it was yummy it was sweet and thoughtful. I was visited by my friend and husband from San Antonio I have not seem for almost one year they are both artist and they bought me one of their original art piece.

I was surprised by a freind with a Nikon Camera / Case and memory. That really touched my heart because he knew I wanted a new camera because my old one acts out sometimes, it works when it wants.

I felt sincere love from my freinds. I am grateful for today and all my family and freinds.
