Teddy surprised me with bowling! We have never done that on a date before...and neither of us had been in YEARS...and boy did it show! ;)

Ran into an old acquaintance there that was on my ex's softball team wayyy back in the day. She is now a manager there and doing very well...

I asked after a few of her team mates that I remember fondly and found out she still speaks to them both! One had a baby boy that came to games with her and he is now in pre school and has the same face he did as a baby... :)

Teddy won OODLES of tickets just as I was lamenting that I had won only 25 playing skee ball...we ended up with over 100 of them :)

It is raining tho and after three whistles she slunk in for a dryoff and not stopping for a drink at the waterbowl, she made it to her bed in the bedroom.

I checked the mail tonight, and there was a key in the box, to open the larger mail box, which means I have a package. I bent down to insert the key, and before I could even turn it, I smelled something deliciously familiar.

After removing the package, I couldn't even wait until I got back to the house, I sat there in my car, and ripped it open. Inside I found exactly what I thought I had smelled, and lots of it. There were 8 packages of a difficult (for me) to find, favorite brand, of rosemary and lavender incense.

I think I remember mentioning them while Gaige and I were Skyping awhile back, I was lighting some not-so-favorite incense, and was going on about how I needed to get online and order some more.

So, bottom line. Gaige made me smile (for like the millionth time), because she really listens. Even when I think I am jabbering on enough to bore the pants off of her, she really listens. :stillheart:

Every year it is tradition that my father gives me chocolate roses. This year, I can't have the chocolate. I kinda cracked up a little, because poor ol' dad was a bit stumped. A card alone would have made me happy, but instead there was a card with $160 in it that said "I have absolutely no clue what you like so here, go buy something pretty." Also, the inside of the card was a lovely sentiment that basically stated how great of a daughter I am despite my weirdness lol

I was able to assist one of our East Coast BFP members in locating a close family member interred in the State of Washington. It was a 6 week detective job consisting of information gathering, cold calls, records requests and essentially spamming every cemetary in Northwestern Washington consisting of the word Green, past or present (ie: Green Acres Cemetary, Greenwood Cemetary, Green...) . Even the new ones (Dignity, Acacia) used to be known as GreenVine Cemetary, etc.

The leads came slowly, but finally narrowed it down.

And yesterday, against some amazing odds, the family member was located in Seattle ! The headstone was under one name and the burial roster was under different name.


The smile is this:

I trained my K9 tracking dog on the roads running directly past the site for
years ! I mean less than 5' (yes, feet) away.

And I am still getting e-mails, offers, and suggestions from cemetary's around the state. And I suspect this will be happening for quite some time, considering how many of them I contacted requesting record checks and suggestions.

I still cant believe what a small world it is we live in...

I had a really good interview today. I won't know for a few days if I got the job or not, but I made a definite impression on the business owners (a married couple). I also made a new friend...their massive wolfhound who demanded cuddles and frisbee time in the middle of my interview. Oddly, that place had a feeling of home, plus I am well suited for the position. I'm hopeful as always, but I will leave it to the universe. (I seem to be doing that a lot lately...which has been taking people out of my life and showing me others more clearly. Either way, I am still smiling. :) )

My wonderful four pawed babies....they are amazing...they always make me smile...and are always so happy to see me - even if it's only been 2 minutes....it's like "yay!" ....lol!

Set up a nice surprise for my mama for when she got home from work... A bouquet that I helped put together my self (and it came out nice!) some nummy chocolates and a funny card...and of course balloons!

My oldest got: A stuffed animal and the only candy she likes, Reese's pb (in egg form) and a gift card to go to dinner at her favorite restaurant....

I woke up happy with a spring in my step!

Today was busy at work but not so much that I didn't get a break now and then. I had a delicious homemade lunch, enjoyed a nice walk to the bus while daydreaming, and my mind was feeding off of my floating energy to successfully assist my plans with current/future projects. I finished the grocery shopping in an hour and I managed to save about 65 dollars to get through the rest of this month and part of next.

Did I mention how nice it feels to get a hot shower after a long day?

I am now going to relax, put away the food and enjoy some dark chocolate and tea.

I have so much to smile about!

I woke up and went into the farmers market early. It's indoors but I enjoyed the walk outside from the bus stop. I made a few dollars between donations and bartering my barber services. It feels wonderful to be getting a project off of the ground and promoting what I love doing!

I picked up a few extra hours at work and the time just flew! I had a lot of laughs at work today and we stocked up on coffee.

I got home , managed to send a few texts and messages, daydream, catch up with friends about Valentine's gifts and have a few self care moments before I had to rush to geat ready to go out to a fabulous event earlier this evening. I got to dress up! It's been so long since I got to dress up for something other than to look professional for work. I know I don't need a *reason* for these things but Ijust haven't had much opportunity lately.

I wore a little dress with stockings and strappy heels, my makeup was done in that smokey look to mirror the bluesy jazz music and my hair was curled and styled into what can only be compared to a 50's mens look. I love it!

Jazz music, fine dining, dancing and great company, you just can't beat it.

A three day weekend. Having a much needed spa day yesterday and feeling divinely pampered. Dinner with 9 great friends at a new Italian place where the food was fabulous, dessert decadent and conversation and laughter light and easy. Learning the difference between objectification and being treated like an objet and how I am surprisingly digging the first. But mostly, clearing round one of the job application process for a two year stint in Bangkok. Universe, bring it!

I spent several hours today going to H's high school and J's middle school, and even when the teacher had some bad news (missing assignments, disorganization), ALL of them said something like "What a great/sweet kid, wish I had a whole room of them". That makes me feel like I've done something right (their dad, too).

Even the bad news was fixable-the teachers gave me a list of whatever they were missing, and the online site to check their work for the future. So I feel that even after a rough time, we can be back on track.

Even better was H's art teacher's news. She's top of the class in art and has a natural gift for it. Her teacher will help her prepare for a scholarship-fully paid-when the time comes. I can't force her to go, but I want her to have all the options known.

Maybe it's reading MerryFairy's posts, but I feel like floating :). I feel cautiously optimistic, even with significant challenges ahead. I hope I can be up to it.

All the noise in the neighbors yard this afternoon. LOL I think ALL eight of their children must have brought a friend home from school with them. I've never heard it that noisey but it was cute and the liveliness over there made me smile.
