Going on a three day vacation to one of my new time share properties. So far, the view is outstanding and is the best part of it all; I have a clear shot at Table Rock Lake!

Waking up cuddled behind her back this morning, and hitting the snooze just one more time. D's mom had been in the hospital for almost a week, so she's been staying with her. It was nice to finally have my boo back home... the house was just too quiet without her.

Making Christmas vacation plans for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! I'll be on the beach staying in a place that has two bedrooms, is approx. 1,290 sq. ft. Features a king bed in each master room and a sofa bed in each living room. There are two full baths and two full kitchens. Amenities include: washer/dryer, and a balcony! How sweet is that?! Sure is gonna beat where I normally spend my winters.

I found a site where you can apply for a loan, and people lend you their own money (plus interest of course). So far I have verified my e-mail and answered three questions - I asked for a $3,600 loan over 36 months at $127 a month for wedding expenses.

Just refreshed and so far I have been funded $25! :rrose: I realize I will be paying interest, and yes I could save almost this much myself in the remaining 7 months - but this way I get the chunk of money at once (well, there is 14 days for enough investors to submit a total of $3,600), and help other people out. And this will allow me to have the money I need and be able to set aside money for school books, an emergency fund, and for Christmas, without having to charge :)

I'm down with that :)

A woman from a youtube video was on the news this morning. She had been deaf her whole life and was given implants that enabled her to hear. And the video showed her hearing her voice for the first time. She laughed and cried. She just seems like the sweetest lady, very kind and grateful. She has the most beautiful smile and I keep thinking it couldnt have happened to a more deserving and caring person. Just a great story.

Getting a call from Bratboy's counselor @school (he just started an on-campus program yesterday - it was sending him off into adulthood and I was having SUCH Mommy issues!)...

She wanted to tell me that he had told her what an awesome mom he had and that Jess was an awesome stepmom too, but that he saw her more as a Dad... (LMAO!!) ... Wow... its really a neat thing to hear that he tells other people and recognizes our efforts, love and sacrifices...

The second part of the smile was a subsequent email stating that they have him scheduled to return in January for the vocational program!! OMG! They have SUCH a waiting list and that he will finish one portion on 12/9 and start again on 1/2?!?!? The.best.fucking.news.ever.

I'm riding on cloud nine right now! I'm sitting in a Grand Prarie, Texas Hyatte hotel room because I went to the most awesome DURAN DURAN concert tonight! I danced, I sang, I clapped and screamed until I coughed, lol. I met some really nice people there too. It's always good to share a concert experience with other fans. I didn't go alone but the person I went with just went so I wasn't alone, how sweet was that?! I got some new t-shirts and a tour book, a memento I'll cherish forever. This concert and prayer truly pulled me out of my week-long funk. :bunchflowers::bunchflowers:

E-mailed the foster mom last night, and got a reply at 8am that some other people were interested and had an appointment! Foster mom recommended I apply ASAP and get my vet reference form. I was a bit bummed, thought we were done for good, but followed instructions.. As I was in the shower, she called back and spoke to Bard. Apparently the lady who was going to go see her backed out! So we drove over and spent an HOUR with the itty bitty thing! Then we had to go to KJ's physical therapy appointment, pondering names (We're not sold on Cheyanne and she doesn't quite know it yet, so we can change if it we'd like). Not five minutes after we got out of the appointment and on the road, the foster mom calls me and says "Soooo, what are ya doing? You wanna come get your new puppy?!!" She pulled a lot of strings - normal process is a vet check, note from landlord approving it, a house visit - we went there, paid on-line through the rescue site, and took her home!

She is now curled up on our couch (I had to put her there, she doesn't like to walk lol). We had plans for a fundraiser, so with the timing, we got her and got home and left right after to go to it...Left that early and went to Petco. Cats are still sniffing at her, but there has been no hissing or claws out or anything.

Got up early than normal to come snuggle with the pup on the couch before I have to get ready for work.. Imagine my surprise to find a empty box of crackers up there with her and the plastic bag containing said crackers on the floor (with some still in there!). At some point she also went and got her empty wet food container and brought it over too. Now..did she do it or did the cats frame her? LOL!

I'm getting big boxes of fruits and vegetables from the owner of a local market for only ten dollars every week. Nobody else asked before they are thrown in the garbage because their a little old, but are still good. This is whats known as a good old-fashioned piggy run.:)

I will give a quick background on this story so you can fully appreciate it. bear with me.

I volunteer at the local animal shelter which is unfortunately a kill shelter. Its often emotionally hard but I do my best to help get dogs adopted and try to make their lives as good as possible for their time at the shelter.

One year ago while I was volunteering we got in as a stray a beautiful white Boxer(my breed I have one myself) who was thin and had Demodex mange with a secondary skin infection. She wasnt very beautiful at the time but her personality was great considering how painful her condition was. I named her Etta(means little in German) and spent alot of time bathing her and nursing her sores. In time she was ready for adoption and the staff kept saying Sue you know that dog adores you...you need to take her home with you. I just couldnt have another dog since my Gouda doesnt play well with others and I was going through cancer issues with her.

So in time many people wanted to adopt Etta but I was pretty darn picky who was going to get her. One day a young man and his wife came in and just fell in love with Etta and she really liked them. I checked out their house and their references and everything checked out. The day he took Etta I cried...not out of saddness out of joy because this young man had done everything I asked...he even bought doggie sunscreen for Etta for her sensitive skin :)

We kept in touch via email for a month and then he never returned my emails. I hoped all was well and thought of Etta often.

Today why I am beyond happy he wrote me a simple email with pictures of Etta. This is what he wrote:

One year ago is the last time we spoke
And you helped me adopt my boxer,
We have since re named her Lola
I just wanted to thank you for doing what you do this dog has been a blessing on both of our lives and and she has become everybody's favorite thing about coming to our house


Short and sweet but it meant so much to me, it actually brought tears to my eyes. This is the reason I do what I do!

Watching "Cracker", the rescued baby flying squirrel, playing her heart out, learning to climb and run about the tree branches without being so clumsy, how she likes to hang upside down and stretch her tiny arms out...(I tell her she's not a bat, silly thing, she's a flying squirrel :sugarglider: ) watching her forage for her food and seeing how chubby her little belly is getting since she's been putting on "winter weight"... seeing her nibble on her deer antler for the first time (which is important to keep her teeth filed down)... it really makes me smile to see how much she loves to play and explore.
It might break my heart to set her back into the wild, she's to tiny...but I think she's learning so much and eating so good that she will make it.

Watching little Cracker get all excited and busy when she discovered her first fresh Pecan (with the shell partially cracked open by her Momma 'cause she's so tiny)...she's only about 3 times the size of a Pecan. It was so fun to see her munch and nibble down with such delight. I got so tickled when she took the second one, like a dog with a bone, down to the bottom of her cage and searched for just the right spot to bury it for later. She's learning to be a big squirrel!!

I got an upgrade for my Las Vegas trip that reads like this: two bedroom villa is approx. 1,190 sq. ft. Features a King bed in each master room and a sofa bed in each living room. There are two full baths and two full kitchens. Amenities include: washer/dryer. How sweet is that? Now my gf's BFF and his husband can come party with us (adult beverage wise that is) and they won't have to worry about driving home that night!

stepping off the plane here in Saint John today.. for a FEW reasons..

- one being, that our flight from Los Angeles to Toronto was late, and caused us to miss our connecting flight in Toronto, which in turn left us staying at a hotel in downtown Toronto until we could catch a flight from Toronto to Montreal today, and then Montreal to SJ... i'm all flied out.

- second being, that i have some hard stuff to deal with here with my son, as i love him with all my heart but he's 18 years old and on a road to destruction which is going to change very soon, because i refuse to let him sink.

- but the third and most important reason, is that landing HERE is where we start our process to be together, because i belong with Him, my heart is home when i am with Him, and i need this, i need this bad...my trip there the last two weeks solidified that we really function so perfectly together, our dynamics, our love and even our friendship.. He truly is my very best friend & we share such a passionate and genuine love, along with that.. As my Daddy, and my Sir, as my partner & my halfside..We 'got' this..♥
