My brother, the mechanic, drove my car....and heard the awful noise I've been hearing for over a week now...and declared it very, very bad :|

However, said brother is taking said car for the weekend and giving her a tune up, and an oil change and he is fixing whatever the horrific noise is! (wheel bearing or bent axle says he...) He may even be able to fix the strut that went in the back...AND he has two new tires for me to boot...

Nepotism is GOOD.....in this instance only... :)

A few Christmases ago, I bought six tickets, front row, center stage to see a group of men sing. I took my son and his now-wife, my boss and her husband, and my wife. It was probably the best concert I have ever been to, and I was so happy to share with the important people in my life. And now, they have a new album, and tour dates, but I see Omaha isn't on the list :( . I'll try to make it to one of these concerts.

A new Epson all-in-one, high-resolution inkjet printer, copier, fax and scanner from my dad as a gift. It came today. I'll give him a call and tell him how awesome it is and how happy it makes me. Now, I'll get to all the Lichtenstein prints for my kitchen that I've re-rendered in hi-res, print them on photo stock and frame them up.

After that, I'll scan the jacquard print fabric from my queen comforter-pillows in my WWI bedroom, re-render them for a matching fabric shower curtain in the bath area and send it off CafePress for printing.

Very savvy and slick on how to do it all for less as a conceptual designer. I know my shit and I received a $100 off on the Epson. I'm smiling.

I'm happy to say that after 110 days in the 3 hospitals and two rehab facilities after a traumatic motorcycle accident in August. Roughly 15 surgeries on my legs and a skin graft. I'm walking with a walker, it's one day and one step at a time from here on out.

But I'm frigging smiling!!!!!

I AM HOME and alive and have 2 legs. Someone was looking out for me.

me and a friend are going to start the 1st week after christmas and every 2 weeks after that buying a gift for toys for tot drive we figured 24 weeks breaks down to 4 toys for each age group we came up with 2 for each gender. I cant wait to do this. We have set our budget which is oh so doable and will really make us feel good about the kids who will have christmas next year.

Our theme is 'Christmas' (yes, its a big thing over here in China, well, sort of! lolol). We have typical vocabulary to learn like 'tree', 'Santa', etc. However, those are just words.

During my several decades of working with young learners, no matter what country I've worked in, I've observed that kids need to learn how to give. So, tomorrow, we're making cards to honour different workers each day this coming week. We have security guards, housekeepers, teachers, and each other to celebrate. Yes, I've purchased little gifts from the store to give with the ever-so-adorable-toilet-roll Snowman that the students will make to give with a huge card as I want to show my appreciation, as well! I know that folks will feel honoured; and, I know the students will feel great for giving.

We'll also 'decorate' a tree with words reflecting positive actions we see in each other. There is nothing like recognizing a friend for making a good choice or helping another person. The joy just keeps on giving as we all take time to read what others write.

I love this week!

It also helps that then I'll have 12 days off!

One of my associates came into to work tonight and told me this story..

She is a kindergarten teacher, and today was Polar Express day. Everyone got to wear their pajamas to school. They had hot chocolate and doughnuts. And then a box was delivered from the North Pole. Jingle bells on a ribbon, straight from the freezer. So when the bells came out, the kids could see the "ice steam". Oh, to have seen their faces! Just the thought of that warms my heart. I'm still smiling:).

The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges saying that it was the best laugh he’d ever had and the perp had been punished enough!

Okay not today but a few days ago. The store hit the 2 million dollars in sales mark. Not bad for a little convenience store in a town of 4000. So I wanted to research the customer who put me over the 2 million mark so I could comp her the sale. She made it relatively easy because she used a credit card. It did not escape me but only made me smile when I learned her name was L. MIRACLE! The success of my store HAS been a true miracle. I went up against established local stores and heard discouraging words from some when I opened this store. Now those naysayers are regular customers and my store is a cornerstone of the community. Here's to passion, drive, hardheadedness and great staff! :)

I was washing dishes and noticed approximately twenty birds hanging out near the bird feeders. They were perched on the branches looking at me. The bird feeders were empty and they were giving me the "hairy eyeball" for more food.

I went outside and filled up the feeders, they did not move, they just waited till I was finish filling up the feeders and proceeded to fill up their little bellies.

I love them and they make me smile.
