I have always wanted a corset, and since we have signed up for the BFP Queer Fuckery event (finally!) and I am dropping weight, I wanted to get myself a little gift. Soooo, I bought this today! Was not thrilled to have to order up, but nice thing about corsets is they cinch ;) Secretly hoping I will have to return it for a size smaller, but if not.. that's okay.. I got this :) Worst case scenario I will just donate it to the femme swap if I lose too much to wear it by September!

My corset came today! Total bitch to get on, and will need to buy more sturdy ribbon to lace it up... Will definitely need some help getting it on at the Reunion! It closes in front with just two metal snaps.... That is dangerous :|

I repeatedly have told them to stop calling and yes, I am supposed to be on the "do not call" list.

Today I went through it with them again. For the first time, I asked: "Is this a collection agency"? She said, "No, it's the RNC". I asked, "What kind of company are you then?"

"Republican National Committee".

Lol! I told her they really were wasting their time, not only was there no Matthew but I was no Republican!

Today Tristin wore his dress. Not a huge thing as he wears it quite often but this was different. Today was the first time he kept it on when we left. Usually when he wears it he will change, completely his choice, if I say we are going somewhere. He just wasn’t quite comfortable going out in public with it. Today he just put on his sandals. I asked him a couple times if he was sure and he was. So... with a boy in a pink dress and Tinkerbell flip flops, we went.

A young girl maybe nine years old gave him a dirty look as we were walking out of Target. Tristin didn’t notice since he was talking about his new Hello Kitty flip brush/mirror.

I know there will be a day when he will notice how some people treat those who are “different” but I’m glad that for now he took a big step for himself and the world as he knows it is alright.See more

Today Tristin wore his dress. Not a huge thing as he wears it quite often but this was different. Today was the first time he kept it on when we left. Usually when he wears it he will change, completely his choice, if I say we are going somewhere. He just wasn’t quite comfortable going out in public with it. Today he just put on his sandals. I asked him a couple times if he was sure and he was. So... with a boy in a pink dress and Tinkerbell flip flops, we went.

What a great story.. someday I hope more people are like that. I have to say when I was little, aside from being under the age where I could not dress myself, my mother always let me dress like a tomboy. She never pushed little girl stuff on me and for that I should really thank her and I will.

Walking out of the door from work today, to see that one of the parking lot kittens was eating happily from a big bowl of catfood.

I guess the ordeal isnt going to be as much of a fiasco as expected.

The kittens are being fed and watered, and today I found where they have been hiding, there is an opening behind the flower beds that goes all the way down under the store.

So they CAN get out of the heat and into a cooler, shady spot.

I will continue to try to rescue them, but for now it makes me happy to know they are being cared for from afar!

I also wanted to note the kindness of others amazes me. There have been several people taking turns to feed the kittens, and put water in their big bowl. The people have even taken water bottles and frozen them to stick into the water bowls so that the water stays cool in the heat of the day. Also more than a few that have tried relentlessly to catch them. Hopefully our combined efforts will make for a smooth kitten rescue!

Now if only mama would come around...

The Saturday morning farmer's market. Which, have I mentioned lately, is only 2 1/2 blocks from the house. :D

Yummy fresh peaches, cantalope, blackberries, eggplant, corn on the cob, tomatoes, garlic, glutten-free homemade pasta, and green onions.

All before the main crowd gets there and the unbearable heat sets in. (Mind you it was already muggy as he!! at 7:45am, but at least I wasn't dieing walking over and back.)

I love where we live, it makes me :D often.

Went into one of my schools this morning and wandered into a class. A group of Yr6 girls (12 year olds) were babysitting Yr1 kids because the teacher was in a meeting :| Sent the girls off and taught the kids themselves. It was the last class for the day, so got them all packed up (after trying to put the wrong backpack on one of the 7 year old girls) and lined up to head off home. Of course they all wanted to salam me - they take my hand and either kiss the back of it or put it to their forehead. Awwwwww. And then a whole lot of other kids form other classes wanted to do the same. And got lots of shouted "Hello/Good morning Miss L" I feel like a movie star :seeingstars:

DARLING BOY! Apparently he drives everyone crazy because he's always asking questions or telling people what he's watched the night before on discovery channel etc, like ostriches come from African and emus come from Australia or interrupting the Principal while she's speaking during assembly because he didn't understand something she said. I'm going to buy him a nice big fat animal facts book, or something like that, with LOTS of pictures and LOTS of words so that he can torment even more people. Let's hope no one manages to crush his spirit.
