I want to live in a world. . .
where the people at large are not jaded and blind to violence and injustice,
where our collective heart is not hardened
where when someone is shamed or naked or injured instead of gawking in rapt hungry fascination we help them or move on to allow them privacy.
where exploitative reality shows don't exist
where litigiousness is minimal
where the lowest common denominator is not a goal but the highest vision is
What can I do to make the world I live in more like the world I dream of?

We used to like teddy grahams, but we favor homemade chocolate cookies and oatmeal cookies. As for Wally World, we enjoy going there late at night the best. In the words of Susan Powter--"stop the madness!"--it's the best time to go when the store doesn't have so much chaos.

Clorox vs Peroxide VERY interesting and inexpensive. This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana
(a doctor's Wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me. 'I would like to tell you of the benefits of that Plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does bleach cost?
My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, And most doctors don't tell you about peroxide. Have you Ever smelled bleach in a doctor's office? NO!!!
Why? because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor's offices, and ask them if they use bleach at home. They are wiser and know better!
Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40's? It's chlorine, folks! And it was used to kill our Troops. Peroxide was invented during WWI in the 20's. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals.
Please think about this:
1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.
2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.
3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.
4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.
6. Soak any infections or cuts in
3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.
7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and Water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without Harming your septic system like bleach or most other Disinfectants will.
8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue. (akin to water-boarding!! ewwww)
9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.
10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it's not a drastic change.
11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help get rid of boils, fungus, or other skin infections.
12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.
14. Another place it's great is in the bathroom, if someone has been careless & has wet on the floor around the toilet & it's begun to smell of urine. Just put some peroxide in a spray bottle & spray. In the blink of any eye all the smell will be gone & the bacteria eliminated!
I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner! ' This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too.

What's the difference between a heatstroke and a sunstroke? (They are both so awful!)
Well, I had [either] one of those on Saturday and another today. Thankfully, neither one of those produced a coma or convulsions but it was pretty bad! I feel like I have a fever! It's not like I'm outside alot, but just the little bit that I was out today (from the car to the building and back) just really did me in!
The heat and especially the humidity is really kicking my butt out here lately.

The Art of Discarded Lottery Tickets
Lauren Was and Adam Eckstrom are the artist duo of Ghost of Dream.
They've taken thousands of discarded lottery tickets and lost hopes and turned them into amazing sculptures.
"We started to collect tons and tons and talk about what people dream about when they play the lottery.

Then we did some serious research to find out what people buy when they do win the lottery.
Through our research we found that most people, after they win the lottery, the first thing they do is buy a car."

while at the zoo today, we walked up to where a pig is located. the pig was stuck in the fence. his tucks was caught in the fence and he was tryin to pull and get free. I ran to a zoo worker and told her what was going on. her and another zoo worker hauled ass to help the animal out and got him free. they took him inside and waved for me to come with them. they checked him out and everything looked ok, but they did say the vet was on his way to verify that everything was ok. one of the zoo workers went and got the pig some ice chips ( as a treat and to help him ) she handed one of the ice chips to me and let me give it to him. he was ok after everything was said and done. I'm just glad we got there and got the animal some help..quickly.

Really pondering either selling or renting my house and taking off in an RV for at least 2 years. Do all the old historic roads and highways. This would be a good way to find an area that I would like to relocate to for those "sunset" years. The longest I was ever able to be a nomad in the past was 4 months. From that experience, I knew that I would want to "set sail" (guess actually set tires) on the road again.

Soup.
Spent the entire second half of this Autumnal Equinox today making soup. Yep, close to eight hours in all (not counting timeouts to admire a big ole beautiful Harvest Moon).
For me, making soup can be spiritual. From wandering the Farmer's Market, assembling the freshest organic bits, selecting the just the right ingredients that feel like this soup is becoming. I do it by feel. By touch. By smell. I find myself lost in the moment.
It sets the stage. For making the stock is the foundation that will either hold or bring it all together. Nothing can be rushed at this point. It will take as long as it takes. First, the meat and bones and base elements must be fired. Because fire brings out the savory, the memory of what it once was. Within minutes, the house is filled with succulent beef and roasting vegetables, onions and garlic emanating from the oven. I crack open the wine and turn up the music just in time so see this fully engorged moon peeking through the stand of trees on the hill across from my balcony.
The stock must simmer for hours now, pulling every bit of marrow out of the bones and releasing the full flavor from herbs that gently bob in the simmer. I inhale deeply the aromas each time i repeat this stir and taste mantra. It becomes meditative and soothing.
Kind of like my mood right now. Ruminating on the past, accepting and embracing the present and making plans for the future in my own special way for this day.
I know when the stock is done without even looking. I imagine a whispered "I'm ready" in my mind and I instinctively remove it from the fire and allow it to cool a bit. It needs to be skimmed and strained into a pure, clear broth. Made ready for the next step.
This next step is the beginning of a transformation of sorts, from a simple broth to a full and satisfying meal. And this part of the process becomes more like making love, so I don't want to rush this part at all. My hands and implements are everywhere, holding, touching, parting, exposing flesh, tasting and savoring each step along the way. There is an order to this play, and knowing the timing and reaction of each part, as well as the whole, is critical. Prodding it for more... still not hurrying, yet raising the heat with each addition, finally bringing it to a quick boil before I remove it from the fire.
I suppose I won't bore you with all of the details, but suffice it to say that in the end I can truly say that today both soul and body have been truly satiated.

So I started orientation yesterday for Lowe's. I was hired as a cashier. I have to say, for having a 'low' position, orientation made me feel just as important as everyone else :) (including the head cashier - job I applied for originally - and department manager)
I came home to dinner on the stove but I was exhausted so I passed out on the couch after. Woke up to the boi and flowers, chocolate, apple pie and a little gift. Such a sweetheart :bunchflowers:
I am excited to go to orientation today :) Super excited even! Now off I go to do my hair and leave :byebye:

Why do they call it tennis elbow, if you never played the game?
Why do they call it a brain fart, when in actuality you just don't remember?
Why do they call it nail fungus, when it's actually in the outter skin tissues?
Why do they call it hang nail, when it's actually hang skin?
Why do they call it squinting, when actually you need glasses?
Who came up with these terms? I wanna slap them!

Forgive me im on a roll...
Why do they call it roach killer, when the ants die, and ant spray when the spiders die?
Why do they call it wasp killer, when you spray them they fall down, then fly away even more pissed then when they tired to sting you?
Why do they sell you medicines that supposed to help with your problem, but then gives you 25 other problems?
Why do they call it cough syrup, when even after taking it every 4 hours you still cough?
Why does the label say 24 hrs relief, when you didin't feel any relief in the first place?
Why do they sell you muscle cremes when it only penetrates 1/16 of your skin tissue? That's not anywhere near your muscle?
Why do they call it potato eyes, when it can't see?
I still want to slap the person that came up with these terms!

Dinner: salad and cookies
Dessert: 1/2 a bottle of wine. Oops!
Entertainment: randomly wondering, "I used to be able to do Cirque du Soleil-esque backbends when I was a teenager! Let's do that again!"
Awesome: Can still do them! Facilitated by currently wine-decreased pain threshold.
Not awesome: Tomorrow morning, after the thrill has gone and the spine protests. Also: sneak dog kisses direct to the mouth while upside down.

Mausoleum
The word derives from the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus (near modern-day Bodrum in Turkey), the grave of King Mausolus, the Persian satrap of Caria, whose large tomb was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

LGBT Veterans Day event called My Patriots Pride ..Please read
I recieved these today and wanted to inform everyone interested.
I am AliSue on the same website it is my internet nick.
I am also the Executive Director of and LGBT national Nonprofit and we need at least one organizer per State. We do not have anybody in Utah.
Long story short we are trying to turn the Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) situation into one where we can get rid of the horrible law.
My organization DOD FED GLOBE created an LGBT Veterans Day event called My Patriots Pride and we built a website where people can list themselves and the event location.
The date for the national event is Nov 22 at noon and we are trying to get them near military installations. Your State has Hill AFB in Ogden.
V/R,
Lisa Kove
Executive Director

This is our website www.mypatriotspride.org
To sign up for you location just fill out the form on the locations tab.
The website has tabs that explain different things and we are going to add a few more pages soon. Those new pages will be: co-sponsors (free to become - any organization that wants to help get the word and or organize any where in the nation). The other new page will be messaging; positive messages that demonstrate how much value LGBT provide this nation.
The first thing we need is for you to pick the location and list it and your contact information in the form.
The event itself is very easy. Basically your group will rally near the base with speakers that have contributed to the nation such as Dept of Defense LGBT: service members, veterans, civil servants, contractors, and those that love them and want to see them have full equality.
Have pride flags and the USA flag as well as banners from any of the groups that support the effort. If possible after the rally have the group march past the base.
If you have any questions you can text or call my cell 6193479357.
Also we can keep you informed of the Federal level LGBT stuff via our (free always) social networking website www.dodfedglobe.com go to networking sign on and give it a little bit of time then you can upload about equality: pics, videos, create: forum and blog, as well as list any of your equality events from any of your organizations. The intent is to provide our community a national events calendar. We are very grassroots our intent is for folks to collaborate.
Thank you very much, because we will only win if we organize in States like Utah. Much more important than organizing in places like where I am at California.
V/R,
Lisa Kove

I wear my store keys on a long necklace with charms and glass beads..
If I'm not wearing it around my neck, then I have it looped through a belt buckel and tucked into a pocket.. Just my id and the charms show..
It amuses me that I hang my keys on the left and no one at work knows why... grin...

When we were infants, our parent{s}..grandparents...Family.. celebrated and squealed with Glee when we talked and walked for the first time....

9-4 training, sat on my butt doing computer training ALL day. Super awesome girlfriend cooked me lunch (turned out I didn't get an hour so I never even got to come home!), dinner, did dishes and cleaned bathroom <3 Who says there has to be rules&roles in a lesbian relationship? Pfft! Remember: Every relationship, not just romantic ones, are a two-way road. What have you done for your significant other today?

I watch this girl's make-up videos often:
http://www.youtube.com/user/MichellePhan#p/u/1/-bjOB4zS0uE
Found a video she made of how to make your own pore strips - you just use a tbsp of milk and a tbsp of unflavored gelatin, microwave it for 10 seconds, let it cool then apply it to your face with a cheap foundation brush that you don't really care about and peel it off when it dries.
I wish I had some unflavored gelatin at the moment. Facial products hurt/burn the hell outta my skin, and pore strips ARE expensive, and I soooo want to try this!

Creativity isn't a job. It's a condition. You just get it and use it while it's there and wait for it to come back again. But you love the hell out of it while it's there and crave the hell out of it when it's not.

A few days ago I told my mom I could not eat another potato. Sometime in the days that followed I told her I needed to cut down on carbs.
Tonight I got home and dinner was lentils with meat and potatoes and of course rice!
I love her but she is on a mission to kill me :)
