Dear people who live in tiny fancy houses

You look so freakin’ happy in that Dwell Magazine article or Buzzfeed post, but c’mon, you can’t tell me that you don’t lie awake at night, your face four inches from the ceiling because the only place your bed fits is above the kitchen sink which also acts as your shower, and think, I’ve made a terrible mistake.

Look, I’m not criticizing you. I commend you for making this giant leap. Since we humans seem comfortable with pillaging Mother Earth of all her resources, I believe more people should think like you. But 250 square feet? What the hell happens when your tiny house partner farts Mexican food farts, huh? Where do you escape to? Nowhere. You have nowhere to run. All you can do is walk three feet to the other end of the house and pray.

I f’ing love the idea of downsizing and living a “simple life,” but seriously, where do you put your shit? You still have some clothing and shoes and towels and all that jazz, right? Or do you just wear overalls now? Overalls and Birkenstocks and one towel that you share with your entire family. Where do you wash that towel, hmm? Do you have a tiny river that runs behind your tiny house? I bet you do. I bet your whole Goddamn property is whimsical.

And I know your house isn’t that clean all of the time. In your pictures, it looks like you only own a tiny sofa, several throw blankets & pillow, one cooking pan, one antique book and one framed photo of you laughing in front of your tiny house.

When Shadow Health Minister Darren Millar submitted questions about UFO sightings at Cardiff Airport, a Welsh government spokesperson responded in Klingon, the fictional language from "Star Trek," according to the BBC.

Millar also asked if any research was being funded to look into the reported sightings, the BBC reported.

Hundreds of phallic sex toys have been seen hanging in recent days from power lines across Portland, Oregon, provoking laughter, blushing and lots of photos.

The large white and bright orange dildos appear to have been strung together in pairs, and have prompted numerous reports to the Portland Office of Neighborhood Involvement, department spokeswoman Lisa Leddy said on Monday.

A spokesman for public utility Portland General Electric said he did not believe the rubber products posed a fire hazard.

In online forums, Portlanders posted photos of dildos swaying in the wind above a number of major commercial streets, and speculated about their origins.

Portland resident Lucila Cejas Epple said she first encountered the phalluses at a neighborhood street fair over the weekend.

Seattle's Straight Pride Parade goes without a hitch, OR participants.

Dumb is the loneliest number

This just in: Seattle’s straight community has been so completely bullied into silence by The Gays (and maybe their close allies, Creeping Sharia) that a big Heterosexual Pride Parade announced for this weekend drew a very dissatisfying number of marchers. We mean disappointing even in comparison to that huge demonstration by Ex-Gays in Washington DC a couple years back, which instead of tens of thousands, had under a dozen people show up, plus some press. What we mean is, actually, ONE GUY, the organizer, a gent named Anthony Rebello, showed up and paraded on Capitol Hill on Saturday.

The “event” even had a Facebook page, with this cheerful inclusive announcement:
We all have the right to celebrate the way of life we have chosen for ourselves. In the name of equality & equal rights, I have created this event to celebrate our right to be heterosexual, and to encourage younger heterosexuals that they should be proud of their heterosexuality (:

Gosh, and to think he didn’t get a lot of support! And by “not a lot” we mean “none at all.” Still, when you’re the only one marching, you don’t have to worry much about keeping in step or keeping your ranks straight, so to speak. (Just a little heterosexual humor there — did you know that many famous comedians have been straight? It’s true!)

And while this year’s parade kind of sucks, Rebello is already planning for next year’s event, set for Sunday, July 24. And maybe between now and then, he’ll have a “White History Month” party and take some Men’s Studies courses.

The killing of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe has caused pretty remarkable international outrage, with lots of anger directed at the Minnesota dentist who shot and killed Cecil.

The dentist apologized and said he relied on the expertise of his guides, but now he’s found himself a defender in Ted Nugent.

Baby sloth gets soft toy 'surrogate mother' at London Zoo

A zookeeper at ZSL London Zoo is hand-rearing a baby sloth with the help of a soft toy, after its mother stopped producing milk and was unable to care for it.

Kelly-Anne Kelleher has described how she bought the toy from a gift shop as a substitute for the infant sloth's parent.

''I want the baby to use all the muscles that he'd be using if he was on his mother,'' she said.

''He is able to climb all the way around the teddy and make himself comfy however he wants to be''.

Keepers hope that once the sloth starts feeding himself and puts on weight, he will be reintroduced to his natural family.

Many butches are parents. Many butches have been pregnant, given birth to and continue to give birth to babies.

Is this breaking down stereotypes i.e. something external or is it challenging us to rethink our own internalized stuff?

Bobbi And Nick Ercoline were girlfriend and boyfriend 46 years ago this weekend, when they decided to attend the Woodstock music festival being held on a farm in Bethel, New York.

During a serene moment, a photographer captured their picture and it ended up as the cover art for the Soundtrack album to one of the most historic concerts of all time.

With the festival’s anniversary this week, we wanted to report the good news that this couple is still together. They were married two years after Woodstock, and have two grown children.

“I think the further we get from the original event the more meaningful it becomes, the more we realize how phenomenal it was: all those people coming together with no violence, just peace, love and sharing,” Bobbi told Seattle P-I in 2009. “Forty years later it’s just remarkable that it could have occurred.”
