I agree with this wholeheartedly morning, especially those that claim to be so nice and thoughtful.. when in reality they slip in their pokes with passive aggressive behavior. Indeed, life is what you make it. Just do not stoop to another's level. Keep your head held high and shoulders square, you are worth much more than that.. and there are people that truly do care that far outweigh those that do not. hugs.

One of the Trustees I work for got a scam letter in the mail from Malaysia today. It was a letter about working for a bank and finding a gazillion dollars of uninherited money and if we send them all sortsa information and not tell anyone we are doing it, they will give us 30% of the money they've found. Do people really respond to these letters?

Actually people DO respond and make sport out of seeing how far they can string these folks along. It's called Scambaiting. I've done it a couple of times from my Yahoo email account (since the only email I get there is spam). I've had people try to send me 'certificates' allegedly showing how I'm supposed to be the recipient of some fantastic amount of money. What's really funny about that is that I've completely sanitized that email address--so the name is blank, just the email address but I have a quote from Michael Shermer and I attribute it as such so they think that is my name (even though my email address is *obviously* feminine--ladyfractal).

I've been sane for four whole days in a row..

The truth is... I need professional help...

I've been living in survival mode since the conception of my son. Probably before then, but I know since then... Keep going, push it down, take one more step, get knocked down, get back up and keep going... Don't treat the wound, just make sure the blood doesn't stain anything... The things that happen to you happen to everyone, don't be a whiner, these things happen to everyone, you are not special... keep going.....

What happens when the thing that keeps you going... the reason that you get up every day and make it through the day is gone...

What happens when you are in a safe place, what happens when you don't have to be in survival mode anymore...

What happens when that will.. that ability... that cord of steel turns into damp toilet paper?

What happens when you stop beliving all the lies you have told yourself over the years?

truth is.... I never planned on being here after my son was grown and out in the world... I float through the world not really making that much of an impact, not letting people in, not having friends or plans because I wasn't going to be here.. If you don't let people in, then you are just a casual comment when you are not there... no one grieves for you...

Somehow that didn't work...

I have people who love me in spite of myself... I have people who would grieve me...

I find that I don't want to die, but I don't know how to live... I've been living with the knowledge that I wasn't going to be here so long, that I simply don't know how to live the way I want too...I don't know how to fix what is crippled.... I don't know how to let myself say.. What happened to you WAS horrible... It WAS important... That by saying that it wasn't doesn't change the fact...

I know it's because I'm safe.. I know it's because I'm loved beyond words and accepted(If you knew the hell I put her through in the last year without her walking.. you would feel it as well..)... I know it's because I don't have to be in survival mode anymore..

But it sucks... To have to change this image of yourself.. to accept that yes you do need meds and a therapist and no.. you can't fix this by yourself..that you can not control this simply because you will it so.. That your will is gone..

i miss my best femme friend.. we used to have great conversations and a couple great times when we visited each other in person.. lol i think in 7 yrs of friendship it was only like 4 times..me in az and her in fla. ha ha but we always had fun be it on the phone or in person.. everytime one of us got into anykind of relationship the other would just kind of disapear until we hear from the other. although we would sleep in the same bed sometimes we were not fuck buddies..i liked the way she smelled..she was a comfort to me. she would lecture me when i was being bad and congratulate me on the right i would do. i always respected her opinion and it seemed her advice made more sence then any of my butch bro's lol except when it came to engines or fixing stuff like the garage door opener or the fence.. sheeez she is an awsome friend.. but she has moved on into a good healthy relationship

I just flew back from AZ from a business trip and, I kid you not, the idiot in front of me let her son (probably age 3 or 4) STAND in front of his sister (maybe 7 or 8) because they both wanted to look out the window during landing. :blink:

How do y'all know the difference between someone flirting with you and someone having fun with a friend?

i've had this conversation many times over the past year or so, since being in an online community again.

The consensus is that i flirt, a lot. With a lot of people. But, my reality is that i flirt with 2 people here. 2. Seriously.

Only....i'm not meaning to flirt at all, usually. In my mind, i am having fun joking with people i consider to be e-friends, or responding to a great post that made me laugh (or think). But it is taken as flirting..... :seeingstars:

Wonder if i put a disclaimer on each snippet/message/conversation:

"This is rav being friendly. she is not flirting. Really."

Do y'all think that would help??

I may or may not change my behavior...because that's up to me, not anyone else. If I choose not to, then I may need to be prepared for the repercussions however.

I hear ya' ...and that's where things get tricky. We all have different measures about what's flirting, what's friendly, etc. I think that's why it's important for everyone to take responsibility for their own feelings. If someone is doing something that makes me uncomfortable, then it's on me to speak up before it becomes a problem.

For me, I try to reverse it. I ask myself...if Scoote was saying or doing this (whether it's in front of me or not), would I feel like it was innocent and okay? If not, then I won't do it or say it.

It isn't that she controls my behavior (she'll be the first to tell you I'm completely uncontrollable :giggle: )...it's just one way that I can look at what I'm doing through a different lens.

My kitchen is calling, so I better get back in there.

I woke up feeling better than I had in a week....refreshing! :)

So. I went to the store because Lucy was out of cookies and the boys were out of kitten food. This cannot happen! I bought them some wet food for their Thanksgiving dinner....turkey, of course. :)

And while I was there, i bought the makings for chili.....and it cooked in the crockpot all afternoon/early evening......since it dropped over 30 degrees this afternoon (75 this morning...in the 40's right now!), I felt it would be a good comfort food for tonight. It was YUMMIE!
