I may not be the most beautiful girl or the sexiest girl nor do I have a perfect body. I might not be everyone's first choice, but I’m a great choice. I do not pretend to be someone I’m not, because I’m good at being me. I might not be proud of some of the things in my past, but I’m proud of who I am today. So take me as I am, or watch me as I walk away!

Fed by this last election.....do You sometimes want that inside voice to come out, look someone in the eye and just say, "You're nuts."?

I know I do.

LMAO. I tend to want that little voice inside to STOP saying things like that out loud.

I wish Olivia Newton-John and the lets get physical song would get out of my head today. It's exhausting me.

The bitterly cold weather in the Atlanta area today and worse tonight caught me unaware and unprepared. Oh my it is awful and will go down to below freezing tonight. My little house is not insulated that well. I need to do something about this. Going to WalMart tomorrow and buy a roll of heavy plastic to tape up over the windows and some weather strips for the doors and windows. I am sitting shivering under the electric blanket. It sure would be nice to be cuddled up with a sweet butch right now. Hugging and stuff! :seeingstars:

If Hooters were to become a door-to-door service would they have to change their name to Knockers?

Aren't the 'good things that come to those who wait' just the leftovers from the people that got there first?

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink what comes out"?

Who was the first person to say, "See that chicken over there ... I'm gonna eat the first thing that comes out if its butt"?

Isn't Disney World just a people trap operated by a mouse?

Why do you get in trouble for blocking an exit when you're standing in the doorway? In case of an emergency, wouldn't you run out, too, therefore NOT blocking the exit?

Since there is a rule that states "i" before "e" except after "c", wouldn't "science" be spelled wrong?

O-Ren Ishii: [after she cuts off Tanaka's head, in Japanese] So you all will know the seriousness of my warning, I shall say this in English.
O-Ren Ishii: [in English] As your leader, I encourage you from time to time, and always in a respectful manner, to question my logic.
If you're unconvinced that a particular plan of action I've decided is the wisest, tell me so, but allow me to convince you and I promise you right here and now, no subject will ever be taboo.
Except, of course, the subject that was just under discussion. The price you pay for bringing up either my Chinese or American heritage as a negative is... I collect your fucking head. Just like this fucker here.
Now, if any of you sons of bitches got anything else to say, now's the fucking time!
[long tense pause]
I didn't think so, gentlemen this meeting's adjourned.

100 Years Ago:

The decade of the 1910s was the age of the great industrialist
and financier, the trust-builder and the tycoon.
The decade was also the age of the manager and the engineer.
From the shop floor to the board room, American corporations were
reshaped in the 1910s as scientific management, efficiency, and mechanization took hold.
One statistic illustrates the sweeping changes under way in American industry:
while the number of wage earners in transportation,
mining, and manufacturing grew by more than 27
percent in the 1910s, the number of supervisory
personnel grew by more than 66 percent.
Perhaps Woodrow Wilson had this transition in mind when he
declared during the presidential campaign in 1912 that
"We have changed our economic conditions, absolutely,
from top to bottom; and with our economic society,
the organization of our life." -From kclibrary.lonestar.edu

FACTS about the decade from 1910 -1919:

Population: 92,407,000

Life Expectancy: Male 48.4 Female: 51.8

Average Salary $750 / year

The Ziegfeld girls earned $75/week.

Unemployed 2,150,000

National Debt: $1.15 billion

Union Membership: 2.1 million Strikes 1,204

Attendance: Movies 30 million per week

Divorce: 1/1000

Vacation: 12 day cruise $60

Whiskey $3.50 / gallon, Milk $.32 / gallon

Facts about 1910:
Speeds make automobile safety an issue

Fuel for cars was sold in drug stores only.

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles
of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!

The average wage in 1909 was 22 cents per hour.

The average worker made between $200 and $400 per year.

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,
a dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and
$4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.
More than 95 percent of all births took place at Home.

Ninety percent of all doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION!
Instead, they attended so-called medical schools,
many of which were condemned in the press
AND the government as 'substandard. '

Sugar cost four cents a pound.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month,
and used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.

Five leading causes of death were:
1. Pneumonia and influenza
2. Tuberculosis
3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease
5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.

The population of Las Vegas, Nevada, was only 30!!!!

Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or
write and Only 6 percent of all Americans
had graduated from high school..

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine
were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores.
Back then pharmacists said, 'Heroin clears the complexion,
gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach,
and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health'

Eighteen percent of households had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE U.S.A.!

Plus one more sad thought; 95 percent of the taxes we have now did not exist.

Did you know that, the words "race car" spelled backwards still spells "race car"?

And that "eat" is the only word that, if you take the first letter and move it to the last, spells its own past tense, "ate"?

And if you rearrange the letters in "Tea Party Republicans," and add just a few more letters, it spells: "Shut the fuck up you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, violent hypocrites, and deal with the fact that you nearly wrecked the country under Bush and that our president is black, so try and get over it."

As a hairdresser I can honestly tell you there is a difference between girl inches and boy inches...
Just watch and listen the next time you should go into get a haircut...
Example...
Guy in chair... holding his fingers about 3 inches apart... I only want you to take off about an inch... *blink*

The French fry change is part of Wendy’s Real brand campaign launched last year that focuses on real products with authentic, high integrity ingredients and fresh preparation.

Does this mean the old fries were fake synthetic concoctions made to look and taste like a potato?

African-American Community Calls For New Black Nerd Archetype
Hollywood Blasted For Failure To Portray Modern Dorks Of Color

LOS ANGELES—A coalition of African-American activists and scholars released a strongly worded statement Monday citing the "urgent need" for popular media to depict a new black nerd archetype that more accurately reflects the full spectrum of 21st-century American dorkdom.

Enlarge ImageBelieving black nerds deserve better role models, Cornel West chose to appear in the geek-centric sequels to 'The Matrix.'

"Outdated representations of African-American nerds are simply not cutting it anymore," the statement read in part. "Perhaps in the '80s and '90s it was possible for young people to identify with Steve Urkel's hiked-up pants, nasal voice, and lovable catchphrase of 'Did I do that?' But today's black nerds are different."

"They may not carry slide rules and calculators, but they do carry smartphones to make posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare," the statement continued. "Yet where are the modern-day nerds of color in our films and television programs?"

According to the Dweeb Diversity Coalition, nerds in the African-American community continue, like their predecessors, to be socially awkward, hilariously unstylish, and a source of embarrassment for their cooler black friends. But a recent survey of pop-cultural archetypes found that in the current TV lineup, almost all nerd characters are white.

There is the exception, coalition members noted, of Abed from the sitcom Community—a character, they also observed, who is not of African or Caribbean descent. Meanwhile, the popular nerd action-comedy Chuck stars a white "geek-chic" computer whiz, and the all-nerd cast of The Big Bang Theory is overwhelmingly Anglo-American, apart from one Indian and one Jewish nerd.

"Even more offensively, on Glee, the black nerds are notably cooler than their white counterparts, as if black geekiness is somehow less lame than white geekiness," Professor Cornel West of Princeton University told reporters Monday. "To add insult to injury, the one black man on the show was written out after the first season."

The prominent African-American writer, philosopher, and activist went on to stress that the highest-profile nerds in today's media—Jesse Eisenberg and Michael Cera chief among them—are exclusively white. According to West, this leaves many nonwhite nerds feeling as though they have no option but to follow in the footsteps of suspect characters such as the reactionary Carlton Banks, who still appears in syndicated reruns of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

"And remember, we haven't seen a black gay dork on the screen since Lamar in Revenge Of The Nerds, more than a quarter century ago," West said. "When will young black gay dorks be able to look up to something besides Lamar's victorious turn throwing the wobbling flexi-javelin designed by his engineering-major friends to complement his limp-wristed throwing style?"

Baratunde Thurston, a black nerd residing in New York City, complained about the limited diversity in his favorite TV programs.

"There are any number of African-Americans on Friday Night Lights," Thurston said of the Emmy-nominated drama about a racially integrated high school football team. "Unfortunately, all the black characters are charismatic, sexy athletes. The only nerd, Landry, is—what do you expect?—white. What's a young black nerd supposed to make of that?"

His sentiment was echoed by the coalition's statement, which lamented the media's inability to reinvent the societal paradigm of the African-American dorkwad.

"Right now, there are only three major role models in American society for black children to aspire to: the gangsta rapper, the pro basketball player, and the president of the United States," the statement concluded. "And that is just sad."

From where I am laying on the couch bed pulled out I can see out the windows and into the valley beyond the house. Its raining here, but not real rain, just that misty heavy wetness that hangs in the air soaking everything.

It makes me smile. It makes me thing of things between, magical wonderful things. Small voices that tell you what you need to know. Things half seen in the mist that push you forward, deeper, toward a goal you never knew you had. I love this kind of rain, obscuring the world and highlighting that which is normally passed over as mundane.

Cell Phone Virus Attacks Over 1 Million Cell Phone Users in China

Report from thirdage.com

Cell phone virus has attacked over one million cell phone users in China, and Chinese authorities are currently trying to stop the spread of the spam-texting virus, according to DigitalTrends.com.

More than one million cell phones in China have been infected with a virus that continually sends out text messages, costing the country's citizens $300,000 a day, according to InformationWeek, as reported by Shanghai Daily.

How does the virus spread?

The "zombie" virus is hidden in a fake anti-virus app. Once the app is installed, the virus sends all of the names and phone numbers on a user's SIM card to the hackers, who then automatically take control of the phone, sending spam texts out to recipients.

According to Zhou Yonglin, an official with China's National Computer Network Emergency Response Team, about 1 million cell phones had been infected since the beginning of September, and mobile operators were having difficulty eradicating the malicious application, owing to the breakneck pace of new variations appearing.

Cell phone viruses pose a growing problem with the increase in smartphones going on the market.

Capitol Christmas Tree 2010

The Bridger-Teton National Forest, at the request of Senator John Barrasso, is leading the State of Wyoming in the delivery of the Capitol Christmas Tree for 2010.
The Capitol Christmas Tree will grace the west front lawn of the U.S. Capitol in December, 2010. The search is currently on in the Bridger-Teton National Forest of western Wyoming for the perfect 65-foot tree. Once the Superintendent of the Capitol Grounds selects the tree in July, it will be cut, loaded, covered and prepped for travel in November.
In mid-November, the tree will be toured across the state of Wyoming before heading east to the U.S. Capitol. In late November, the tree will be delivered to the U.S. Capitol, where it will be lowered into 5-foot deep hole, strung with lights, and decorated with thousands of handcrafted ornaments made by Wyomingites from across the State. In December, the Speaker of the House will light the tree and showcase Wyoming's historical, cultural and natural beauty.
Through the holiday season, the tree will be lit at dusk, where it will be enjoyed by people from across world. The theme of Wyoming's tree is "Wyoming- Forever West."

Meet The Illinois Woman Arrested For Assaulting Cop With A Sex Toy (http://rss.thesmokinggun.com/buster/illinois/meet-illinois-woman-arrested-assaulting-cop-vibrator)

when Bildsten reached inside a dresser drawer to get the purported cash, she instead removed a “clear, rigid feminine pleasure device,” held it above her head, and advanced on the cop “in a threatening manner.” The officer responded by knocking the sex toy out of the way before he was struck with the device.

The sex toy, which was not confiscated by cops, was further described by Deputy Chief Kevin Woodside in a TSG interview. The item, he noted, was six inches long and “attached to a nylon harness.”

Ok, this is freaky but the photographs are of food items, strawberries, bananas, pizza, chocolate, when scratched they still smell, exactly like strawberries, bananas......:seeingstars:

You may be surprised to know that folks are attaching removable card copiers to the readers at gas stations, bank atms etc. I had that happen to me last month, except that I knew the next day when I was alerted by email of a suspicious charge. I have it set to alert me if an online charge is made. I called the bank immediately and by that time a second charge had been added. I had just used my card at the Mobile station to get gas for my truck the night before, so I knew where the culprit had the copier. I am thankful they did not clean out my account. Sorry this happened to you.

I recently moved back to Colorado and realized that half of the stuff I moved back was just that "STUFF!" Seriously if you haven't used it or worn it in 6 months get rid of it! If you haven't read the article about the Westboro baptist church going to McAlester Oklahoma on Saturday , then let me fill you in. As you know the Westboro Baptist church protests at Military funerals, holding signs that say God hates fags etc. telling the grieving families they are glad their son or daughter died, because God hates queers. The reason their son or daughter died is because the military allows queers.
When they showed up in McAlester Oklahoma for a funeral, not only did all the people of the town show up , to counter protest against the westboro church, so that no one in the grieving family could hear westboro's hate message, ( all they heard were the towns people saying God Bless America )etc... But when the westboro church returned to there cars , they found their tires slashed , and not one single tire shop in town would repair their tires. They had to call AAA to tow them somewhere else.
I absolutely love this story and I love the people of McAlester for standing up for what is right. I need new tires on my truck, I think I'll drive down to McAlester even though it's 2 and a half hours away, and get some new tires, before the month is out.
Oh one more thing , they tried to eat breakfast in several cafes but where refused service.

I have had the honor to hear similar story's recently...
JAGG I just read this to my dad, he asked if you could send me the link so that he can share it tomorrow at a couple of funerals...
Today The Patriot Guard Riders were there to welcome home one of our local boys...
My dad said it was incredible... I am tearing up just thinking about it... For the almost 60 miles back here to town there were people standing on the both sides of the road way... My dad was saying it was heartbreaking to have to see this young mans two year old daughter and hear her say... "My daddy is home...

Football Widow Attacks Boyfriend With Hammer

After using a hammer to bust up a television, a Florida football widow allegedly turned the tool on her live-in boyfriend, striking the NFL fan in the face as he was watching last night’s Patriots-Steelers game, police report.

Byrdie Davis, 47, was collared at around 10:30 last night after allegedly dropping the hammer on the right side of beau Andrew Rosa’s face. Davis was charged with felony aggravated battery for the attack on Rosa, who suffered a laceration under his right eye. Davis and Rosa, cops noted, have been dating for 16 years.

According to a sheriff’s report excerpted here, Rosa was “laying in the living room watching football” when Davis came in and “began to yell at him about watching football.” She then allegedly retrieved a hammer from the kitchen and, in succession, attacked a television set and her boyfriend.

Rosa then left the couple’s home and called cops. Davis, pictured in the above mug shot, was later arrested and booked into the county jail, where she is currently being held.

Probably Floridians. I had a small family of gators in a retention ditch half a block from my home for years. As long as they don't have a sustained food source (read: as long as dumbass humans don't feed them and/or let their small animals run free next to the water line), they pretty much leave everyone alone. Well, except for mating season. They get pretty testy then.
