Life is an endless struggle, full of frustrations and challenges, but eventually you find a hair stylist you like.
If I had only known (and been able to afford) my current stylist back in High School and College, my life would have been entirely different.

That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.

GILBERT, AZ — Alliance Defense Fund attorneys filed an appeal (http://www.telladf.org/UserDocs/OATCGilbertAppeal.pdf) Wednesday with the town of Gilbert’s zoning Board of Adjustment to overturn a decision banning churches from meeting, holding Bible studies, or having any other activities in private homes. The pastor of the seven-member Oasis of Truth Church received a cease-and-desist letter (http://www.telladf.org/UserDocs/OATCGilbertLetter.pdf) ordering him to terminate all religious meetings in his home, regardless of their size, nature, or frequency.

What is poop made of?:fart:
About 3/4 of your average turd is made of water. Of course, this value is highly variable - the water content of diarrhea is much higher, and the amount of water in poop that has been retained (voluntarily or otherwise) is lower. Water is absorbed out of fecal material as it passes through the intestine, so the longer a turd resides inside before emerging, the drier it will be.:seeingstars:
Of the remaining portion of the turd, about 1/3 is composed of dead bacteria. These microcorpses come from the intestinal garden of microorganisms that assist us in the digestion of our food. Another 1/3 of the turd mass is made of stuff that we find indigestible, like cellulose, for instance. This indigestible material is called "fiber," and is useful in getting the turd to move along through the intestine, perhaps because it provides traction. The remaining portion of the turd is a mixture of fats such as cholesterol, inorganic salts like phosphates, live bacteria, dead cells and mucus from the lining of the intestine, and protein. :runforhills:

This is a piece from my blog:
Take time to appriciate those you love now!
To often I hear from people,
I should have! If I only would have!
Why didn't I do that? Or similar things.
We have no promise other than this minute.
We can do whatever we choose to do, Now!
Nothing is more important than this second in time!
Here is an example of one I did.:
My brother who was still in his 40's at the time. Was alawys asking me to come and enjoy time and sit in his hot tub. Well time and time again I said,"Awesome! I would love to. We will have to set a date to do that."
Time passed and this simply didn't happen.Life had to many things going on for me to take out 1 or 2 hours to simply do it. I had babies to attend to. Meals to make. Meetings to attend. And we can't forget,a house that was dirty and had to be cleaned.
Time passed and now he had offered this for well over 6 months. I never forgot, I simply was just to busy to take time out to play.
One day while I was doing my norml changing diapers/cooking/chasing kids etc. ... There was a knock at the door. It was two of my family members standing there. Both looking very serious. I invited them in and shortly after, they told me my brother had died in a snowmobile accient. My world was crushed. I could not concieve what was being said let alone absorb the news.
I am not saying I hold guilt for not going to visit with him. But what I am saying is, I chose to do things that could have waited instead of creating a lasting memory with my brother.. Had I have chosen to go and spend time,we would have been a wonderful and cherrished memory now!
By the way, I do not recall what I cleaned or did that days I chose not to go...See what I mean!
Sharing moments together is what this life is all about. The connection of the sharing between two souls the key. Memories created through each of those times is what keeps you alive when you pass. It is also what helps those left behind to endure and heal.
Tell those you love today, that you love them. Let them hear from you face to face, the beautiful things you see in them. Remind them of of cherrished memorries you hold dear to your heart, about them. For tomorrow you may be saying, "If I would have only.....!"
A POEM:
Be Mindful of the Moment
bY: Neil Harding McAlister
The here and now is all we hold through times of joy and sorrow.
We may watch fulsome years unfold -- or may not see tomorrow.
Be mindful of the moment. Pay attention to each one.
The past has fled beyond our grasp, the future’s yet to come.
There is no way to measure what ensuing days might bring,
So seize the utmost pleasure found in every daily thing.
The road of life is far too short: no need to travel fast.
Investigate the wonders that lie strewn along the path.
The tender leaves on springtime trees, rough pebbles on the ground,
The snowflakes drifting on the breeze that fall without a sound,
Are all unique and precious, if we take the time to see.
No two have been identical in all eternity.
Is this not true of people too? Be mindful, then, of each.
Both strangers and those close to you have useful things to teach.
The two of us part richer if we pass the time of day,
And don’t just brush each other off, then hurry on our way.
Preoccupied by urgent schemes of business, love or power,
By gambling on our future dreams, we lose the present hour.
A life is forged of moments linked together like a chain.
Live each in full -- for down this road we shall not pass again.

Sometimes desire overrides reality and you're left disappointed, ashamed at your choices and mistakes. Sometimes you have to take a few steps back, reevaluate and figure out how to work things. Life is full of lessons and if you watch the processes of nature, mother nature you see how she knows the right time to present a storm, a flood, a fire and even through the most devastation something spectacular emerges. The only compass you really need for this life is being true to yourself and honest with others.
The beginning of the Life Series on Discovery was breath~taking.....though I couldn't watch the cheetahs taking down the female ostrich.....it broke my heart to see the male crying for her.
Of course, he ran off and left her to be killed......that's a whole other series......

Fledglings:
Baby birds that are beginning to leave the nest are called “fledglings”. Their flight feathers haven't fully developed, but they can flutter from branch to branch. Don't be alarmed if you see a fledgling on the ground. It could be taking a rest from its first flight or it could be waiting for one of its parents to feed it. Do not attempt to replace such a youngster in the nest. Leaving the nest is a part of their normal development and it is best not to interfere with the process.

I've been pleasantly surprised at my ability to carry out "meatless Mondays" for a month now. I will say that it's led to some interesting food choices. Oh, and I'm in no danger of becoming vegetarian anytime soon. Still. It's been cool.

Violante, your post brought up a memory from long ago when I was around 8.
The neighbor girl and I happened upon a bird nest in a tree and we removed it.
My parents were home so we took it over there first. Across the board, it was a "No, put it back," from my mom and my dad, with an explanation of what we had done and what was to be the result.
So, we went to her house with the nest and I learned the next day, her parents had allowed her to keep it because she wanted it.
For days, I heard all about the feedings and delightful encounters from the neighbor girl. I was pretty ticked off about it all. My mom tried to explain that the reason they would not allow me to keep the nest.
One day, I realized I hadn't heard any more bird stories for a bit and asked the neighbor girl about it.
She only said this: "They died."
I learned a lot about my parents' character that day.
Leaving the nest is a part of their normal development and it is best not to interfere with the process.

for sharing your story. it carries with it a great message :)
keeping an eye on the family pets while fledglings are on the ground is also a good idea.

my younger brother's the general manager of a sandwich shop called jimmy john's..

this morning in utter boredom, I wanted to call {when I do, either mum or my brother take a quick 4 minute break-ish} and since they're short staffed today [spring break] bro took orders too apparently
Bro : good mornin, jimmy johns bla bla bla*promo line* how can we help you?
Me: -nasal deep voice- Yes yes, may I have a gargantuan Unwich??"
Bro: "of course sir, anything else?"
Me : ~slightly surprised he doesn't recognize me~" uh, yesh, do joo have guac?"
Bro : "it'll cost extra, but we certainly do, would u like to make it a combo?"
Me : "It'll cost a lot if u actually wrote that stuff down, dingaling"
Bro :"OMG, u fu-- *whispered hiss* we're in the middle of an inspection...I could kill you and get away with it"
Me: "heh heh heh, good luck, if u get out early bring me a cherry coke, there, you're saved"[click]

There's nothing worse than being comfy and half asleep when your phone rings and startles you.
But wait, it gets better.
It's your slightly off center sister calling to tell you about some ridiculous drama (which you don't do of course).
Which then manages to wake you up (not too mention she asks "why are you asleep it's only 9:00 pm?") and make you very unhappy, and shockingly, (read: sarcasm) not sleepy any longer.
Yep, the infomercials are looking pretty darn good right about now.

Okay, tonight has been lovely. I don't get a lot of 'family' around these parts (at least none that come to see me in my workplace) and tonight I had not only an adorable butch with long blonde hair all dressed up but I had a lovely couple from Seattle come over. Everything went fine with the butch and I sent her off to her room...alone...*ahem*....riiiiight (but who am I to judge?) and then the couple comes in and they take a look around and we talk and they decide to check a few other places out.
I tell them who to look for, who to avoid and general 'you are here' stuff. They leave and then come back about 15 minutes later. The clerk on duty at a 'sister' company BLATANTLY rebuked them and exhibited all the signs of being a prejudiced jackass. So, I gave them the information they needed to lodge a complaint and I talked to them a little more before they left to check another place out. I felt so bad for them and wished that the room they really wanted wasn't already occupied.
Irritated, I say!

Why isn't there any interesting conversations going on? Well, I guess it depends on the subject, I suppose.
Ok. Here's the deal. I am old-fashioned - meaning, I abide by the old-school rules, etc. I am a femme who is an achronisim. I am out of my element most of the time (should I confess and say 'always'), and am so 'out of it' that it's difficult to find folks to talk to.
I could go further into this discussion, but I am very tired right now, so I won't. Just want to say, that I wish I could find some old-fashioned minded folks to talk to - maybe I'm on the wrong website...

So.... I know I'm really cracking up and my brain has got some serious blank spots after all the recent flood of events.... when I open my fridge to put the new carton of eggs away and find FIVE AND A HALF DOZEN eggs already there!!! What on earth am I gonna do with that many eggs!! I can't very well start a chicken hatchery!!
Ummmmm.... my brain is saying "ON OVERLOAD.... ON OVERLOAD!"
Before I left for my dad's funeral, I had bought an extra carton of eggs to make REAL pickled eggs (here in PA at the deli, they don't use vinegar, sugar, beet juice and cinnamon to make theirs... just beet juice).... when I got back from the funeral, I forgot all about my extra eggs and when I was shopping I thought "Ummmm, I could really go for some REAL pickled eggs"... so I bought MORE EGGS!!
Anyone want some REAL pickled eggs, deviled eggs, egg salad, egg sandwiches, egg gravy, scrambled eggs or MORE eggs?? Cuz I think my brain is already scrambled!!
...... I'm off to make some REAL pickled eggs.... about 3 dozen worth!
Ohhhhh maybe I should make Easter Eggs? Anyone wanna loan me a few kids to volunteer to mess up my kitchen with food coloring and sparkles??
2nd Season of V the final battle {new one}....

Random and JakeTulane,
Please do not use these threads to play out any personal drama with one another. It squicks the rest of us out and brings unnecessary negativity to The Planet.
Just place each other on ignore or at least refrain from making swipes at one another.
Thanks,

If I am remember correctly, Latisse is made from a glaucoma medication. Side effects of said med was eyelash fullness. So, onto the cosmetic pharmaceutical market.

You are absolutely correct. In the script form it is Alphagan. Latisse is probably 10 times more expensive. This is NOT something to mess around with for the sake of vanity. It is a drug with a number of warnings...it is before the DEA for a possible black box warning. Maybelline Great Lash is safer, smarter and sexier.
