Conversation with clerk at the HEB last night, when checking out a box o wine...

Him ~ "They should really make easy to transport individual sized things of wine, you know like for picnics".
Me ~ "Kinda like Capri Sun, but with wine"
Him ~ "Hells yeah, I think we are soul mates"

I was reading some articles on Liz Taylor. One spoke of how when
she and Burton, both married, were having their not very private affair,
the Vatican denounced her as a sexual vagrant. The Melita filter
boys didnt have any putdowns for Burton tho.

I'm thinking "sexual vagrant" has possibilities.

OK, the commercial with the 'most interesting man in the world' just - I don't know. It doesn't exactly piss me off, perhaps I just find it aggrevating. First of all, he's not a real person so I don't find him interesting in the slightest. He's a fucking actor, acting like an interesting person. And that's the commercial company's idea of an interesting man. Just because you have a pet cougar that doesn't make you interesting. In fact I find that irresponsible. And perhaps cruel. Having a beer doesn't make a person interesting, nor a certain brand of beer. BUT there is a brand of beer that I enjoy on occassion and it's because I like how it tastes. WOW what a concept!!!!

And since I'm talking about commercials... I LOVE the peanut butter snickers commercial with the sharks - now that is just fucking funny! And for some reason I love the guy with the miniture pet giraffe. I can't remember what the commercial is for, but I always look for the little giraffe. Yeah, I admit to watching the girl on the treadmill a time or two, but she's watching a picture of running giraffes! Anyway, I want a miniture giraffe!!!!

And those are my thoughts on commercials tonight lol

I have to leave for the dentist in 30 minutes.

I'm thinking I would rather have a bikini wax, or go a few rounds with Micky
Ward, or suffer through lunch with Sarah Palin or babysit a toddler....well maybe not the toddler but the other stuff has its merits over the
dentist.

Only good thing about the dentist is all the free samples. Reminds me, need to take bag for take home goodies.

I am having kind of a "duh" day.

The landscapers arrived this morning for the "spring clean up". Of course this involves raking leaves, picking up debris, blowing stuff into piles that can be discarded.

Sounds reasonable huh?

Except we are having gale force winds here.

So, I sent an email to the management company requesting they educate me on how the landscapers manage to defy the laws of physics to do their work well in such high winds.

I'm getting nicer at asking the questions tho. They provide me with many opportunities to practice.

It's been a LONG day and I'll be damned if I go without an emergency kit again or have to get ready for work by taking a "bird bath" with 24 ounces of bottled water. The things we take for granted :praying:.

“An art studio doesn’t usually make anyone’s list of what the homeless need. But when Anita Beaty decided to start painting in the storefront window of a homeless shelter, people were soon looking in and asking to join.

Beaty is the executive director of the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless. She’d been looking for a way to combine her love of art with her passion for eliminating poverty. There are seven artists working there now, including TieRee Malone and Greg Walcott, who say painting helped them turn their lives around.

‘It gave me an outlet, I didn’t think about being homeless, I didn’t think about where I’m going to eat at,’ says Walcott.

It also provided a source of income. Collectors, church groups and even people passing by the building purchase their paintings, which sell for anywhere from $200 to $2,000.”

Wow, it's been a lil while since I posted..

So, I'm waiting for the last bus of the night to get home from work and who desides that they need to take a seat and roll up a jay? Well, mr. homeless-i-kinda-smell-like-old-cheese-and-alcohol of course! So, I'm thinking, "oh how lovely, I'm going to get to spend the next 10 minutes with this delightful example of the human race". Long story short, he borrowed my lighter twice and was just warming up on his "the cops almost took me in last night" story when the bus drove up. He didn't get on.. Such a pitty..

Earlier that evening.. This lady comes into my place of work in tears, my co-worker told her the sales (35% off all vibrating toys!) and wanted to comfort her, but couldn't, being on the clock and all, so patted her awkwardly on the shoulder and walked back up front. After a bit she waved me over to asked for help picking out a vibratorand porn. Seems that her's just wasn't getting her there.. So, we pick her out some porn and grab a few toys from the shelf.. We test them out and I suggest the best way to use the bullet for stimulation.. I also let her know where her G-spot was.. She had no idea :| Turns out, the reason she'd been in tears was because she just couldn't.. finish.. Poor thing, I hope that she found some relief tonight..

Such a hard job I have..

Before my first cup of coffee today, I found a news story on Yahoo that said General Electric was going to give back its 3+ billion dollar tax refund. It also said GE was going to eliminate its tax havens in off shore areas and vowed to hire one American worker for every foreign worker it hired.

Half my brain was cheering for a company who had decided to become socially responsible and become part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

The other half of my brain remembered it owns GE bonds and said WTF!!!!

The story which Yahoo picked up from the Associated Press was found to be a hoax. But, it was a very good illustration of the great American dilemma - social responsibility versus personal gain.

Now I need coffee.

An old Lady well into her 90s, on her deathbed, waves her great-grand daughter over, patting the side of her bed.
The girl dutifully sits, and leans as the frail woman whispers,

- "My darling child, to you I shall leave 20 Sheep, my precious cattle, the stable of purebred Horses, 100 acres with a gorgeous pond that houses a family of Ducks and Swans."

The great-grand daughters' eyes widen and asks,
- "I never knew you had all that, where is it?"

those tv preachers spouting off today.

And, I found myself wondering......God managed to
create an exquisitely intricate universe and all contained
within.

So why does humankind think He needs their help to interpret

Mitmo has discovered a secret weapon.

I do believe she is chortaling with joy over it.

The other day she was heading out for a bit, but didn't want to take a shower first. Now if you look up the word, *Bed Head* the picture next to the word is my babies hair when she wake up. ( Let's just say that snookie doesn't a a thing on mitmo's beehive/bumpett.) So her going out of the house without attenting to her hair is NOT something that is done...

She didn't brush it out or put on a hat...

She pulled her hair back into a low ponytail.

oh my...

She came swaggering into the study in her camos and with that hair all slicked back from that beautiful face and a bolt of lust hit me so hard I almost started sweating.

oh my...

Needless to say when I came in from school later on that evening, she had bathed and slicked back that hair again... Deliberate action...

oh my..... BLUSH....

I have informed her that she may not use this new power for evil, nor shall she use it to get her way... She just laughed a slighty evil laugh..

I don't know if I should be worried or now... Grin... I like the power structure in my house just fine and do not want to become a sex slave....

Can someone from England, or educated in British Monarchy Protocol explain something to me....?

Queen Elizabeths' Uncle, Edward VIII {y'know, the guy who abdicated, giving his Brother the British Throne, changing Lineage entirely, which allowed Elizabeth to later be Queen}, was given a few ultimatums if he chose to stay with a twice divorced American {Wallis Simpson}.As King, he couldn't be with a divorce'e period, since he is the Head of the Church of England and must be living embodiment of its teachings {Let's not get into Henry VIII, yet.}, his own PM threatened to Resign, he was forced to Resign or face a political Race and damage the Monarchy, right?

Ok....

Why is Charles still heir Apparent?...
I'm aware his marriage was civil, and Diana is Dead, but Camilla's ex-husband is still alive, no?
The Queen and Prince Consort didn't attend their civil wedding, given Elizabeth's status {supreme spiritual leader in the church of England...}....
On top of that, from what I've read{I get bored easily in the libraries and dialysis} Charles isn't exactly 100% into Church of england. His Father, prince Philip renounced his Greek titles, but had a Greek Orthodox influence on Charles....
Doesn't that worry people over there...?

Why is Charles allowed this divorced wedding + Chance @ Throne{rather than renounce and give it to William}....But Edward was pretty much cornered and in a way Exiled?....
I know they won't have kiddies, but still...Edward and Wallis didn't either.

I thought of this while watching "Kings Speech"{figures, eh?}

Ok....

~Gives Jesse some Chamomile Tea~ hehehehe....
:moonstars:

I did wake up with more though, bare with me on the Rambling here..lol

I woke up, and my brother tried his Damnedest to convince me to read even a few e-pages of Larry Flynts "One Nation Under Sex: How the Private Lives of Presidents, First Ladies and Their Lovers Changed the Course of American History " book, believe me, I told him right off the bat "Do you realiZe the level of awkwardly Weird you've reached? I wake up, craving coffee, and u smack my sleepiness away with this? I don't wanna discuss Larry Flynt with you at 8 in the fuckin morning...shoo, go away."
Eventually I caved in and read a little since he was narrating for everyone in the neighborhood to listen.....
He said the book explains amongst other things a Presidents homosexual relationship with a Senator at a time where Slavery was an issue and said Senator was a heavy influence on presidential decisions, during a Time when homosexuality was condemned by Death....
That last part hooked me...
The precious Democratic U.S., that condemns, currently, other countries and denounces "harsh" punishments elsewhere, among them being Homosexual deaths in so-called extremist Islamic/Socialist countries.
At one point, they did the same? Bah! Ok, they stopped, but still approved it once, and I'm more than sure there's a convenient reason to stop somewhere..
:|
I did look into it, to see if Flynt was just being controversial...
I found this:

In modern times eight countries have no official heterosexist discrimination. They are Argentina, Belgium, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, South Africa, and Spain. This full non-discrimination includes the rights of marriage and adoption. Two additional countries have marriage rights for same-sex couples, namely Portugal and Canada, but in Portugal this right does not include same-sex adoption, and in Canada it varies by jurisdiction (it is legal everywhere except in Nunavut and Yukon). The Canadian Blood Services’ policy indefinitely defers any man who has sex with another man, even once, since 1977. LGBT people in the US face different laws for certain medical procedures than other groups. For example, gay men have been prohibited from giving blood since 1983, and George W. Bush's FDA guidelines barred them from being sperm donors as of 2005, even though all donated sperm is screened for sexually-transmitted diseases and even the most promiscuous heterosexual men are not barred from donating.

And then I read the "blurb"

Ben Franklin saved the American Revolution by seducing French Women. A gay love affair between President James Buchanan and Senator William King aided the secession movement. Woodrow Wilson’s girlfriend dictated his letters to the German Kaiser. And lesbian relationships inspired Eleanor Roosevelt to become a revolutionary crusader for equal rights. The colorful sex lives of America’s most powerful leaders have influenced social movements, government policies, elections and even wars, yet they are so whitewashed by historians that people think Thomas Jefferson and Abe Lincoln were made of marble, not flesh and blood.

Granted, when he mentioned a part about Eleanor Roosevelt being bisexual, I shrugged mumbling "That's not exactly news..but ok."

after I checked a sampling from Amazon, I reserved a Kindle copy, and told my grinning brother "oh shaddap"..

They were married over 60 yrs when he died in 2002. The first time I heard this song was right after he died, and I knew Mom and I but especially Nannie missed him so much, Lordy I had a good cry that day.

I know they won't have kiddies, but still...Edward and Wallis didn't either.

I thought of this while watching "Kings Speech"{figures, eh?}

things that make ya go , hmm, I suppose.....

Well I think the main thing is... society has changed A LOT since the 1930/40s when Edward VIII abdicated the crown.

If Edward VIII had been a different type of person, he may not have abdicated and he may have married Wallis Simpson regardless of the PM or government's opinion. As you say, Henry VIII had no problem making up his own rules - including creating the Church of England and making himself the connection between god and the church.

But according to most historical records Edward VIII was never keen on the crown, not political, not interested in duty or obligation. The film the 'King's Speech' doesn't go in to great detail about it, but Edward (David) was incredibly reticent about becoming King.
It is true that Mrs. Simpson's marital status was considered scandalous at the time. Twice divorced was not common for anyone in the 30s/40s, regardless of class or status. BUT the British government was far more concerned with Wallis Simpson's "Nazi sympathizer" status and her connection to high ranking officials in the Reich, which is historically accurate.
As an interesting aside/ there is much innuendo and speculation regarding David and Wallis' relationship; some people close to them have said that they had a S/m relationship, in which Wallis was the Dominant. I've never read or seen anything that proves that, but it is interesting none the less. :)

As to the Royal Family today...
The world has changed so much, societal norms and expections have shifted very quickly over the course of the past century. What would have been scandalous in the early part of the 20th century (like divorce or marrying a divorcee) is very normal now.
Queen Elizabeth II is very conservative - socially and politically. It is said that she kept Charles from marrying Camilla back in the 70s/80s because she was deemed inappropriate (and married). She approved the marriage to Diana (19 years old and a "confirmed virgin"), despite the fact of the age differential or the fact that she and Charles had known each other for less than a year. Well...we know how that ended....
Charles and Diana's marriage was a spectacular and very public failure.
The Queen was implicated as playing a part in that, publicly.

The Queen's sister Margaret was divorced.
The Queen's daughter Ann was divorced. The Queen's son Andrew divorced.

Regardless of expectations and protocol - divorce has become a reality.
Forcing or arranging marriages doesn't seem to work so well.

In addition people the world 'round were very critical of Elizabeth II's response (or lack of response) when Diana died. She was described as cruel and cold, dispassionate, stuck in the past, not in touch with the people (as opposed to Diana who is still described as the "People's Princess").

The percentage of the British population that describes itself as "Royalist" is dwindling as quickly as the number of people who go to church (any church) each week.

The Royal Family is expendable; even more so at a time of social, political or economic crisis. In a constitutional monarchy, the monarchy is largely ceremonial. The monarchy has no legislative or governing powers.

The monarchy has to adapt to survive, and that's why Charles was allowed to marry Camilla. Why there is a generally more casual, less formal, attitude of the members of the Royal Family.

Ferreting also has a season in the U.K., it is a futile exercise to work the ferrets once the rabbits begin their breeding in spring. The ferrets will inevitably find the young rabbits underground, make a kill and feed, then curl up and fall asleep and require digging out.I knew it, there's always a catch with these buggers...They're incredibly smart, cunning, adorable....and selfish..
LMFAO....
What they left out is, usually it's the Male who does Ferreting, when and if he 'falls asleep' or simply gets distracted, they tend to send a Bigger, Badder, Meaner 'Hob' spook him, and finish the job...Other times, they a send a 'Jill', there's contradictions as to which is better for Ferreting because of this, the 'Hob' being a hob*or boy*, if he's hungry enough, he'll eat the rabbit, and snooze, the 'Jills' tend to go after smaller prey, so, she's sent, to figuratively "Drag his lazy fuckin ass" back, hehehehehe

I saw this, in an article online

One of every three Americans between the ages of 18 and 33 have no personal savings, according to a recent Harris Poll survey. What's more, 53% of this age group has zero in the way of retirement savings.

They're missing out, big time. If a 25-year old with $10,000 invested $320 a month at a 7% annual compound rate of return until they turned 65, they would wind up with $1 million.

After I read the "bolded" part, at 6:30 am, I blurted "What fucking average 25 yr old is gonna have $10,000??? Unless theyre a pimp, drug Dealer, or pointlessly Rich...
Even then, at 25 fuckin' yrs old, 10,000 is a joygasm waiting to happen, let alone think about Retirement, fuck that, they'd go hogwild in vegas, fuck you very much with that financial logic"

My brother came outta his room, almost smacked into the wall and sleepily said "y'know, u really need to stop reading 'wall street journal', find a local chick, cuz this early ranting is annoying...Can u walk my dog?"
