I'm very sad as well. I adored him. Airplane!, The Naked Gun series, Spy Hard, The Poseidon Adventure, and Repossessed and so on. I had no idea that he wore hearing aids almost his entire life. His comedic timing was impeccable.

I would give just about anything to find a fishing partner in this area. Yes. I do love to fish. Large mouthed bass mostly. Do love surf fishing as well. I daydream of finding a camping buddy to go camping, fishing and swimming with. I even bate my own hook thank you very much! I love using an open faced reel by Garcia (if they still make them) and my ex makes custom design rods and owes me one. My favorite way to fish is to use spring lizards and troll for the bass on a nice spring or fall day. They practically jump in the boat with spring lizards. I do believe in skinning and cooking what I catch. *sigh*

The new Super Wal-Mart near our house has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain. When you approach the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and witness the scent of fresh hay. When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying. The veggie department features the smell of fresh buttered corn.

I don't buy toilet paper there anymore.

Last night, I had a neat dream about Reunion:

I had THE BEST dream last night and couldn't WAIT to share it with You!

It was Reunion....and in my dream, we were at a beach location and it was femmie bonding time. And Medusa, June and myself (it was my dream, after all! hee hee ) went over a sand dune and hid PURSES in the grasses and sand. The other femmies were on the other side of the dune. So then we called for them to look for a purse and they all came squealing and giggling, looking for a purse.

Then, we all went to the water's edge and stood in a line, holding hands, watching the sunset....it was almost worshipful....so lovely.

And I stood back and took a picture. There were some I recognized ~ Candace, Medusa, June, Pammie, Pixie, White Tigress, Julie (IF) and a bunch of others (maybe 30 of us)............and then, as the sun set, several of the women lifted the hands up.....sort of a gratitude thing.....it was so lovely. I remember WT had on a red, flowing dress....it was blowing in the sea breezes.....we were all wearing long dresses, actually.

It was a good dream. <smile>

This has been an amazing week for me! Even though business has been more horrible than it has in over a year, and things are very trying and testing right now, I got a package in the mail Monday. It was an external hard drive for my computer. Many years ago I had a roomate that encouraged me to go to school and I kept telling her I wasn't ready. She called me Thanksgiving day to catch up. I told her of my 4.0 GPA, and she shrieked with excitement. We talked for a while and talked about computers, autocad, and how much room those programs take up. She is so excited about me going back to school that she sent me that hard drive so I could clean up my computer to make room for autocad/revet/illustrator. I cried when I got it...that was so thoughtful of her. I had no idea she was going to do that!

I pray every day for positive things to happen...and I pray for good things to happen to those that I love. Monday, I got that in return, and I got something that is really going to help me with my school in the long run. My friend is amazing and has gone out of her way to help me and it truly touched my heart! I will be sure to pay it forward as soon as I am able to do so!

God is good!

Just an FYI. Key West rarely gets hit by a hurricane. The keys closer to Miami do. There is an international airport there now. It is a big time city. LOL It would be an awesome place to party though!! I could be a tour guide. :D

I know it doesn't happen every year, but I lived in Central FL for more than 20 years and have seen the keys be evacuated several times. Not just hurricanes, but really severe storms too.

I'm just saying it would be a shame and a great loss of what is often someone's ONLY vacation time off for the year and what is every penny they've saved for months and months.

I think I would have rather broken something... On a happy note, in the last 2 1/2 months I have lost over 30 lbs... I knew I had lost but not that much... Yeah me!

Everyone from work were having a nice lunch at an Italian restaurant on a very cold cold day in Charlotte, NC. the dog I was trying to get pulled from a kill shelter in Az did get pulled, is on her way to Denver to her foster home. She is a lovely Newfoundland/pyr mix and her life was saved at the last minute! So many attempts were made across the nation to save this dog that literally had hours to live. Our own Cody was willing to drive to go get her (he lives twenty minutes from that shelter) but the people I had lined up were squabbling, so we had to drop our chance and go to the next group of people. Eventually one group made it.

yes, there are people out there, who do this. We sit together, on computers, on a list, and field announcements about newfoundlands and newf mixes that end up in kill shelters.

Give Cody a pat on the back...out of the kindness of his heart, he was willing to drop everything and go get this dog on a moment's notice. What a great guy!

Though i've never been in an 18 wheeler, when i was a kid i would stay with my great aunt occasionally. She was home bound, and LIVED for her cb radio (i guess it was the computer of the late 70's). i remember many of these terms from those days...

I'm awake can't seem to sleep anymore, cpap is not working and dog woke me up earlier to come up on bed to sleep, he's sleeping of course:vigil:

When I had my sleep study done the doctor told me the worst thing you could do is let your animals sleep with you... Since I no longer have cat's sleeping in bed with me or my dogs for that matter I do sleep better... lipstixgal I do hope they get you a working cpap soon, I have heard from a couple of people that it can take some getting use to also ask for some other masks to try... Good luck finding the elusive sleep fairy... She seems to have run out on me...

OH Thanks I was sleeping but the dog woke me up to come up on bed then I took mask off and it was off for most of the night until about 5 am. I hope I get used to it(the mask) soon and get better sleep hygiene..

I believe it's the McDonalds commercial that speaks of saying carmel or car-a-mel. I've said it both ways, but it is not like potato or pa-ta-to. Or tomato and to-ma-to. Who the fuck says patato or tamato? Maybe they talked like that 100 years ago or something but noone says I want a patato with sourcream and butter. I dunno, it just irks me when people use that saying cause people just don't talk like that.

And something else that irks me is when I'm watching a football game and a receiver catches a pass - not a touchdown or a game winning catch - just a catch and he does some stupid dance. I just want to grab him by his facemask and say "Dude - you know what you just did? You did your job." You don't see me doing some stupid dance when I sell someone a car battery. I don't know, it just seems like bad sportsmanship and stupidity.

Oh yes...I don't watch football...but I feel like this a lot in my everyday life. Seems like way too many people feel like they deserve special recognition, a reward or applause...just for taking care of their own responsibilities or doing their job. :seeingstars:

Strangest thing just happened I was looking down the "last post" column and saw a name I hadn't seen before. I clicked on it and Snowy's profile came up. So I went back and did it twice more and Snowy's profile came up. I'm like WTF? So I went to the member list and clicked on the persons user name and alas Snowy's profile did not come up. Weirdest thing......I think I've done that before and someone beside the person's name I clicked on came up.
