The Christmas carols have been on all morning.....
I heard a porn song.
Ella, singing 'Santa Claus got stuck in my chimney....'.....and....'please come again next year'..... and...' he's all fat and round'.....and....'neither up....and neither down'
What ELSE could it be?
And evidently, Santa Claus BROKE her chimney, cuz "Daddy built a brand new chimney..."

Cuz that's what Daddy's do......

With the TV Christmas advertising now well underway here in the UK, I really feel sorry for low income parents of small children.
£60 ($90 approx.) or more for a plastic toy that basically doesn't 'do' anything? The same amount for a teddy that glows? A little bit more for a 'durable' plastic camera?
With so many families living in poverty you would think that crap like this would be outlawed.
Ugh.

It is the darkest time of the year, the time to turn my inner eye... well inside... so why the fleck can't we just embrace the darkness and allow our harvests to nourish us until the sun is reborn. Seriously I am not afraid of the dark, introspection or the fact that the sun is slowing sinking into the underworld, it will come round again. Fake cheesy happiness and mass consumerism...

I NEED TO MOVE AND SOON
I am starting to HATE my neighbors, more now than ever, I am sick of things falling off my wall because their kids have no respect and some of the adults have no respect for the time constraints aka when its after 10 pm SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO TO BED
I am quiet, I prefer quiet, thats why I have no kids, the only time I am loud is when I am not at home or during football games during the day, come after 10 pm it is quiet time.

There is no room for dieting in my life right now. The Cool Whhhhhip is full fat/flavor/fun. The pie has a slightly gelatinous sheen to it. The gravy has congealed into light tan jello blobs in the fridge.

I am *this close* to being done with this term, and I cannot wait until it is OVER!
I have so much to do this winter break... and I am looking forward to every single minute of it.
Hopefully putting up the tree this weekend. We bought our "first Christmas" ornament several weeks ago and it has been hanging on the wall. I can't wait till we can put it on the tree.
Wish I was closer to "home" so I could go to my friends visitation and funeral. :(

I finally got about 8hrs worth of sleep last night.. after two days of being awake and not being ABLE to sleep i was pure heaven. I have never been able to start my own manic episode though it wasn't intentional I really dont want to do it again.. much more intense then a regular manic episode.
Xmas cards hopefully will be going out today YAY!
House is a disaster because of me this time. I bought a futon yesterday. I couldn't believe how many flipping parts the damn thing had. I have owned futons before, but they usually all have the exact same type and size bolts and nuts for every hole in the thing. This futon had 3 different sizes of bolts, 2 different sizes in nuts.. and it actually had screws... and if you are wondering I put it all together by myself. I also installed a deadbolt in my walkin garage door yesterday. Today I have to install the brackets to lock the big garage door. I love putting things together.
Have to put the outdoor glass table in the garage today, suppose to snow tomorrow. I have no idea how i am going to get it in the garage without help.
My goddaughter should be coming home sometime next week with her mother. I am so excited, I haven't seen her in almost a year. I hate that lil brat (inside joke).
Wow I just really rattled on today. Happy Holidays to All.

One of the most hurtful things to see is animal cruelty. But I have to say that the Human Society's campaign spots on TV are getting to be really tired. It's upsetting to see shots of wounded, neglected animals. But instead listening to the message, which aires about 3 times every hour, I have to turn the channel every time it comes on.

You good "Mommie" types, (whom I adore, b.t.w),
where do you suppose I tucked away a hundred dollar bill, before running out the door real quick here last week? It is not in my "usual spots". I looked in several places. (I'm wondering if Minxy Blitzer took off with it - he takes things off the upstairs bar here, or KNOCKS them off and then bats them around!)
Or, if I stuck it in a "food pantry" donation can in town that night, where I thought I was putting some singles in... which would be a good thing, but I don't know if I should look here anymore or not (?) I haven't been real concerned with it, it's just bugging me - like what happened to my memory?
I feel like a big kid right now... NOT very "responsible".

Being that I'm considered a Country Bumpkin' I find it very difficult to fit in with the City Slickers crowd... Last night's party in town was nice, but I felt like a mouse amongst the cats.

The water fountain outside my window sounds peaceful, but until I open the blinds, it always sounds like it's raining. I am amazed when I actually get up, open the blinds and see the sun shining here in the PNW in the winter! It is cold, but beautiful out.

It occurred to me to say what I wanted to say in private. But no, I think you need to be called out for this totally dismissive comment....especially from you, Jet.
First, have some compassion. Open your eyes and look around to see that someone MIGHT be in pain this time of year.
I am one of those people. For, try as I might ~ and believe me, I DO ~ this time of the year IS very hard for me because I lost a child. We will never ever again share the joy of opening a present together under the tree.
Now I'm not asking for a pity party. I go through an entire year doing my best to deal so that people like you aren't uncomfortable.
There are very few things that make me see red. Congratulations. You did it.

The cookies are coming along better than I thought they would.
Cookies can be mailed. Yes, yes they can. They survive quite nicely if wrapped in waxed paper, stuffed delicately in freezer bags, then wrapped in air bubbles or bubble wrap and put in a shipping box.
Cookies in the mail are one of the best ever holiday prezzies.
Not that Im hinting.
But my address is on the holiday greeting card list.

I've been feeling like shit over the weekend :cough: and still not up to par, so I decided to call in sick today. I figured I'd be a couch potato and catch up on some of my recorded DVR shows and rest. So here I lay snuggling with my comfy blankie, and remote in hand.
All of a sudden my boy cat decides to play Tarzan and climb the damn Christmas tree. He's spazzing out :playingcat: running back and forth, ornaments on the floor, and trying to eat the fake pine needles. :wtf:
I'm contemplating making some sort of barrier to go around the tree or even getting one of those gates, but he'll jump it. So much for me getting some rest. Not to mention this annoying cough..
Now he's sleeping sound, looking innocent and cute, :cat: like he didn't do a thing.

My housemates' dog ate all the candy canes (leaving the wrappers all around the house for her slav....er, skin parents to pick up) at the bottom of the tree as well as a VERY rare, one of a kind wedding ornament. Let's say she is on their Naughty list.

Enjoy the good things in life and don't worry about the
things we can not ever change...
I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful
life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've
aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've
become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie,
or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I
didn't need, but looks so avant garde on my patio. I am entitled to a
treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.
I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too
soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the
computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to
those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish
to weep over a lost love ... I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched
over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I
choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful.
But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten.
And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can
your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers,
or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts
are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart
never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of
being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my
hair turning that other colour, and to have my youthful laughs be
forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed,
and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You
care less about what other people think. I don't question myself
anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.
I like being older. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time
lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day(if I feel like it).
MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE A RAINBOW OF SMILES ON YOUR FACE:pile:
AND IN YOUR HEART :cheer:FOREVER AND EVER!:amsmiling:

Hi Irish,
He did that years ago when he was a kitten. We had to put the tree out on our enclosed porch that year. Since that time, we've been pretty lucky. If I wasn't home, I'm sure the tree would have been on the floor. He's a character the majority of the time and mischievous sometimes. Other than that, he's usually a good boy.
I'm sure when we get home from work tomorrow, the tree will be on the floor. I have cool glass candy cane ornaments that I'll have to take off.

Dear Random Posters,
I came in here to apologize to all of you for the comment that I made the other day about being depressed this time of the year. I realize that I failed to think about the impact of My words and in the end I upset many of you, which was certainly not My intention at all. I suffer from depression and know how hard it can be to function on even the simplest of days, so I should certainly have thought more about the impact of My statement before posting it (actually I shouldn't have even posted it at all).
I hope that you can all forgive Me for making that comment, I am sincerely sorry and do hope that you all know how much I love being here with you at the Planet :heartbeat:

So I had this dream and I just HAVE to share it with you!
A bunch of us were at a reunion, where Belinda Carlisle was working the greeting table. I knew she looked familiar, but it didn't register with me. (I am a tad bit slow sometimes...even in my dreams apparently!) So she comes around the table to say hello to me; I ask her screen name and she replies "Cougar4G". :thud: (I have no idea what happened to her after that)
Next thing I know, I am entering the cooking stadium (much like the one on tv where all the chefs compete), where there was a BFP cookoff getting ready to take place.:cooking: The dish was mac-n-cheese. So I come walking in with a box of Kraft, when Diva grabs me and pulls me to the side, getting on to me about how we can't use a powder mix to compete...and to go to the store to buy some milk!
The other competing chefs that day were: Medusa & Cheech, Jagg & Novela, Diva & me, and Bobby Flay & Pinkielee. Medusa kept laughing at me because of the powder mix thing:pointing:. PinkieLee kept saying "Poor G!" :giggle:
Then when they said "GO!" to start the cooking, Medusa put curtains up all around her kitchen because she didn't want anyone seeing her secret recipe! :shocking:
It was a strange dream to say the least....very strange. I am all kinds of discombobulated today because of it! :seeingstars:

I like the process, but the month seems to stretch longer than the money sometimes. That gets me. :worried:
I had to laugh at your rep about the calculator. Try looking in your start menu. Depending on what type of Windows you are running, it could be right there or you might have to go looking under your accessories for it. Or, in a pinch, the dollar store has little ones that actually last quite a while. :bucktooth:

Random Thoughts for the Day: And yes I stole it, lol
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear
your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing stinks more than that moment during an argument when You
realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was
younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty
sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the
person died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work
when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for
the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray?
I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me
if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear
I did not make any changes to.
14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this
-- ever.
15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?
Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and
goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone
and run away?
16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not
seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to
answer when they call.
18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would
happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?
19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well..
20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or
Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
Blaze......that was hysterical!!!!!
:happyjump:
That being said......
#5 ~ I can teach You THE coolest way to fold a fitted sheet.....all became clear to me after I learned!
#6 ~ Yes. Because I'm far too lazy to pick up my pen after each letter.

Coming home, yesterday, after finals to find the ceiling had caved in due to a frozen water pipe that decided to burst, was not my idea of a good time. Everything I owned was drenched in water. I would post pictures, but to heck if I can find the gallery around here in my frazzled state.
I did put a few pics on my facebook. I am so freakin tired, and YES I am bitching and complaining at the moment. I take a lot of stuff in stride, including this, but darn it, I am done with this flooded mess. I want a hot bath and some dry bedding to sleep in for the next couple of weeks until school starts again.
Calgon - hell, anything, take me away!

Ants in your nose are BAD! Ya know, they don't die just because you snarf them up your nose. They crawl around trying to get out! And when you feel that, let me tell you, it makes one gag, sneeze, cough, gag, gag, cough, sneeze, and so on. Until said ant is freed of its sinus passage challenge. Not recommended for the faint of heart.

Reminds me of one time in Israel. B. was watching TV and I decided to go to bed early. Anyways, as often happens, I was unable to sleep so I decided to go for some 'quality time'. Being too lazy to turn on the lamp, I reached to the side of the bed for my trusty friend and started to buzz. A few seconds later I notice that things aren't as they should be and it feels like something is on fire. OMG, I think to myself, I've electrocuted myself! So I jump up, flick the switch, and look at the offending article - by this time, B. has come into the room to see what all the 'Ow, ow, oooooows' are about and is standing there looking like I've gone totally insane - to find it covered in tiny most likely red ants, possibly baby scorpions.
Needless to say, any quality time I get now is 'got' with the lamp on.

Shoot me if I get like that. Please.

Then I'm thinking, I'm really missing Myrtle Ave. right now - in Brooklyn calling one of my three Chinese take-out places right across the street from my apt. and them just hearing my voice, saying my first name, guessing the number for the order and reiterating "NO MSG, right"!? :flowers:
I became very close with this one woman from Malaysia during this time. Her working and living conditions while in the city, separated from her spouse and child and extended family was horrific to me. But, she stayed, getting a home for ALL of them back in Malaysia - despite all of this crap here. She went several years without seeing any of them. I was tickled when her husband finally came to visit and she wanted to introduce me to him.
I love New York. I miss it. Nothing like N.Y.C. during the the winter holidays.
