so unrelated to anything but work... is it necessry to use the same wording over and over and over in the reports that are yearly or every six months. Is there anything other than cut and paste... I am ready for that wine Diva and Dixielady expressed an interest in.

and spell check is a great tool, one I think is under-utilized in my industry.

and I want a new white shirt to go over my new red corset.

and I found out that corsets are NOT made for foxy dancing

and I was reminded how much Femmes are not appreciated in my community. Why o why was I the ONLY ONE wearing a corset at the Pride Bash?? And then why is it so necessary to ignore said Femme??

I should just go back to always being a normal spiritually minded dirt dog and forget my totally cool kickass with beautiful breasts in a corset personality. :rainbowAfro:

Yeah that's it....

Now I will return to said reports and stopping my desire to stab a pen in my leg in protest to redundancy....

I also had a Barbie doll and a Tammy doll. Tammy was a knock-off Barbie, I realize now. I always felt sorry for Tammy because she had only about half the wardrobe Barbie had. Tammy was a little bigger than Barbie, so Barbie could wear Tammy's clothes and look really great, but Tammy couldn't borrow Barbie's.

I made it up to Tammy by always letting her drive Barbie's car. She and Barbie would go on lots of adventures--like camping--and they had a great time!

I don't know where Ken was at that point.

Life is too short to let people bring you down, to waste your time on people who won't even give you the time of day and to expect people to be the ones to make you happy. I've relied far too long on others to create My own happiness but I've gotten to the point where I'm gonna make Myself happy, not wait for others to do it for Me. Making decisions are hard, and I hate doing them, but sometimes you just have to ......... life is hard, but doing what one needs to do to be happy is only going to benefit them in the long run!

Its time to own up to My own happiness, one step at a time :-)

The bad news: Our neighbour has to tear down his two shore-front rental cottages because of the damage done by the huge flood last December.

The good news: He says we can have anything we want from them if we can take it out ourselves - including an AWESOME antique fireplace and an aerial photo of my grandfather's farm from at least sixty years ago!

Suddenly the summer seems very, very busy.

What a beautiful morning. Went out and rode around just as the sky was changing, not quite dawn. It was finally cool-ish. I went out at 230 to walk Mo and it was muggy. The neighborhood is quiet. All these old houses are beautiful. I love seeing everyone's landscaping or decorating. Wondering who lives there. Didn't ride far, but got out and did it.

Marilyn Monroe is as much a Blonde as Lucille Ball is a Redhead....
Which is curious...
Many people try to measure Natural Blondes & Redheads with both these Classic Dames...For various Reasons... Ranging from idiotic, Ditzy & clownish, to Shrewd, Savvy, Pioneer...
And yet both were born Brunettes.. Hm...
Mind u, Blondes DO have more fun, thanks to Marilyn, and Redheads get away with A LOT -grin- :sunglass:

We don't always know whose lives we have touched, uplifted and inspired by a simple act called kindness, because actions many times have unforeseen ramifications. What's important to remember is that you treat EVERYONE with kindness, even those who are rude to you ~ not because they deserve it, but because you deserve it!

When I walk around the mall or wherever, here in Columbus OH, people look at me like I'm some new kind of BUG. Is it the hairstyle? Maybe it's just that I have a hairstyle.

And for those of you in or from Columbus, GO BUCKS!

◘ After the husband of Genghis Khan's daughter was killed at Nishapur, Iran in 1221, she ordered the death of all in the city (approx. 60,000), and the skulls of men, women, and children were piled in pyramids by the Mongols {wow, now that's grievous & Pissed off}

• The 15th World Scout Jamboree was scheduled to be held in July 1979 and was to be hosted by Iran, near the Afghan and Turkmen borders, it was cancelled due to the 'Islamic Revolution', because of the sudden cancellation, there were souvenirs already made, such memorabilia are of great value to Collectors nowadays, and demand a lot of $ if they show up on the market {rarely}.

◘ Catnip can affect Lions & tigers as well(or badly) as house cats, it excites them because it contains a chemical that resembles an excretion of the Dominant females urine.

"We thought an organ like a gallbladder would have a pure genetic origin as probably most people do. Just as a short anatomical review, a gallbladder is a thin-walled sac in the duct between the liver and the small intestine, and it regulates the flow of bile to the small intestine and helps in the digestion particularly of fat in the small intestine.

The ptarmigan and other species of grouse don't have them. Presumably, their diets are so low in fat that the gallbladder is unnecessary, but some years ago we found gallbladders in captive ptarmigan that we raised from eggs at the University of Alaska, and we couldn't figure out why that would be. Eventually we tracked it down and attributed it to our inadvertently feeding the chicks a diet that was considerably higher in fat than they would get in the wild. This we believe is a classic example of a very important phenomenon called epigenetics, which literally means "beyond genetics."

Traditional genetics deals primarily with the absence or presence of genes, whereas epigenetics deals with the action or inaction of genes that are there, and the effect of the environment in turning genes on or off. So, in the case of the ptarmigan, they likely had genes for gallbladders, but they weren't operating - they weren't turned on - but when the birds received a high fat diet, it essentially turned on the gene. So this is an example of feedback from the environment - the environment affecting genes. This is becoming a major field in biology. It can be a whole revolution in our understanding of biology and it has huge potential and significance in many ways, including in human medicine."

- John Theberge, co-author of "The Ptarmigan's Dilemma: An Exploration Into How Life Organizes And Supports Itself"

ok i give up...what is a Juggalos?...

They're a gang of mostly teenagers and young adults who follow the group Insane Clown Posse. I have to admit, in a mumble, that I don't totally dislike ICP's act. (See Miracles on YouTube.)

This gang calls themselves Juggalos and Juggalettes (man, the femmes got short end of those naming conventions, huh?), they wear clown make-up, and SOME of them--not all--are trending toward violent crime. In NH in the last year, there have been at least 3 brutal crimes committed by people who identify as Juggalos.

Here's a (badly written) run-down of 10 crimes connected to Juggalo adherents: http://www.ranker.com/list/10-most-violent-juggalo-attacks-ever/michael-gibson

A friend of mine lives a few houses away from where some young guys entered a home, stabbed the mother to death, and stabbed her 12yo daughter almost to death.

I don't want to blame the music--I mean, I really do not blame the music. But I do think the group dynamic should be looked at seriously.

Today's top news story in my new town as of next week is about a black bear that goes dumpster diving in town.

I'm never going outside. Ever.

We had a large black bear cruising around the parking lot of the local grocery store the other day. It tried to come in the automatic doors but an employee noticed and hit the door latch in time.

Hey, how come the controls for fans always go Off, High, Medium, Low? Why wouldn't they go the other direction?? This has bothered me for years. (Off and on.)

Nope. There was photographic evidence. I even posted it on the facebook. :stickingmytongueoutatyou:

I've wondered this myself. At the moment, however, I'm wondering why the fan at the end of my bed started making an unbelievably obnoxious squeaking sound about ten minutes ago.

Photoshop. I bet in the original it was a dark-haired hobo hanging out by the store, minding his own business.

We don't have hobos who hang out by our stores. Come to think of it, I've never seen a "hobo" in my town at all.

Your Sixth Card
Higher Power: Queen of Swords

As core truths emerge, accept their influence and allow your life to be changed.

The card in the Higher Power position reflects the broader perspective and influence of your conscience, Guardian Angel, inner wisdom.

When the Queen of Swords comes up in this position, your inner grandmother is taking her throne. Male or female, we all have living within us a wise crone or powerful Queen of Heaven figure, a mature mother archetype. She is stepping forward now in your own psyche. Her higher reasoning is flowing into your consciousness, helping you see things in a broader way.

This involves a peeling away of appearances to yield a clearer disclosure of core issues. She is trying to remind you about what is true, what works and what you can do to positively affect your situation. Don't resist her; accept her influence.

There was a story on the news last night that teaching cursive writing in schools has now become optional and keyboarding is now mandatory. I dont know if it was a local thing or a national thing.

Seems weird to me. Bad enough kids today cant spell, or construct sentences to say what they mean, or conjugate verbs properly. Now we wont teach them how to write? And this helps them compete in a world economy how?

I saw that, too, and it bothered me. I can't quite put my finger on the reason why, but it probably has something to do with the fact that I still hand write (in cursive) letters to my grandmother and mail them to her. She treasures them and keeps them on the table to proudly show off when friends come to visit.

I write and receive letters from military friends, and it touches my heart that they took the time out of their day to write me. I think writing (especially in cursive) shows a dedication and commitment to thinking about someone long enough to compose a letter. Mandatory keyboarding means they spent 10 seconds responding and won't give you another thought. :(

Oh, and here's my random: I woke up this morning with "I am a pirate king" from Pirates of Penzance stuck in my head.

I thought the same thing. My son is 13. Pretty much the only cursive writing he has learned has been from me. His schools did not teach him one single aspect of it. The majority of all classwork though is done on computers. It does seem weird.

I'm with all of you....my son is 13 also and his writing (cursive and printing) is horrific. The teachers in NY just accepted it and shrugged it off ....and taught him cursive incorrectly so that he was writing as if he was left-handed (which he isn't).

Luckily, his teachers here in FL took one look at his writing and said "we need to work on that" and it's much better. Still bad, but better.

I'm hoping the high school continues the work, and I need to work with him more myself, too.

I think both keyboarding and writing by hand are important....why in the world would the schools seem to feel that they're mutually exclusive? :seeingstars:

My honey wants to know how this kids will be able to read cursive. Will documents like the Declaration of Independence need to be translated?

I have such mixed feelings about this. I never use the cursive I learned. If I must hand write something, I print. However, it feels as if we are destroying a right of passage or something. Sort of makes me sad......

In my hometown there is a drive-thru carry-out. You drive into this garage, they sell you your ice-cold Bud or Pabst or whatever, and then you drive on out the other end. There's something wrong about that.

We had a meeting in a conference room that overlooks the parking lot. We saw a person who works on our floor go out to their car and sit for a long time. Apparently this is a common occurrence, so my boss went down to clandestinely investigate while we all watched the show. He pretended he was on the phone (agitated hand motions and all) while inching closer and closer to the car. They think that this person goes down and drinks several times a day and were trying to witness it. Funny stuff. Sadly, he couldn't see anything. Too bad we didn't have any binoculars.

There's one of those in the town over from mine. I do think that's a little funky, but then again, my county and all the ones surrounding were dry until about a year ago. *shrug*

We have a second year law student *clerking* in our office. That would be, he has completed 5 years of college and is entering his 6th year. He saw me typing an envelope yesterday and asked me what I was doing. (typing an address) Him: Why did't you just print a label? Me: This was just as quick, if not quicker Him: Is that electric? ok, I let that go....later in the day I overheard one of the attorneys say to him *What did you write on here?* and he said what ever it was....then the attorney said *Are you left handed?* Him: No, Why? I told him, because we can't read your handwriting. It's true they don't write. He'll send some one an email, that is 6 desks away. Makes me crazy.
