When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and
then it subsides.
And when it subsides, you have to make a decision.
You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.
Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day.
It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush.
I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away.....

Well, if they've lived for centuries maybe they've just had really good high-interest savings accounts? *snicker* I've actually wondered the same thing...lol
Or maybe they take all the stuff that belongs to the people they've killed...over centuries, that could add up.
They could have big vampire garage sales...but only at night of course.

Soooo - the "mouse" I thought was messing around in my aviary - turns out he has a long fluffy tail and should be outside in the trees. We finally met yesterday. My kitty was trying to show him the door. He chose the window. Unfortunately it was shut at the time. I tried a net, but he was faster than me. He was last seen heading in the direction of the closet. How do you call a squirrel, anyway? :|

Every time I look at my local paper I find humor in it. From today's paper, A woman answered a knock on her door Friday morning to encounter a heavyset white female wearing a brown hat and scarf and "big dark glasses" spraying her in the face with what seemed to be hairspray and beating her with what is described in the report as "a plastic dump truck."

If I ever decide to get into body piercing I think I'll ask them to use one of those big hole punchers. That way I could hang 3-ring binders from my chest and carry around personal information, work documents, and car registration.
My brother borrows my NY Yankees ballcap, not because he's a fan...
His hair is extra-mega curly, and lookin' like krusty the clown....
btw, I never learn.
I felt bad, and said "here, but take care of it"..
Today, I wake up at 7 am, THE POOCH is walkin' through the living room very proud, happy strutting..With MY ballcap...drooled, chewed and fucked up....
"CHINO !!!!!!!! GET OUT HERE......NOW!!!!"
Half the neighborhood must've heard my mouth.
He finally shows up, annoyed, squinting, yawning with a sleepy
"What?"
I motion to the dog {who, btw, is still enjoying my former favorite ballcap with small air tosses..}
-"Oh...shit..." -sheepish smile-
-"That's it?...Oh Shit? He's chowing on a $27 ballcap."
-"How'd he get it?"
-"Wanna take a guess or 2? My treat, u fucknut."
-"Ummm..."-scratching his head with genuine stupidity..-
At this point, I swiped the ballcap, shooed the dog away and threw the cap at him....
-"It's 7 am, christ"
-"I didn't buy that thing in walmart, you're paying for it!"
-"Aw c'mon I'm broke, I love u tooooo"
-"what the....?"
-"Doesn't I love u mean not having to say i'm sorry?"
-"Fuck no..."
I swear...If he wasn't my Blood...

TRAINING ADVICE FOR AN OLD GUY:
An old guy (not in the best of shape) was working out in the gym,
when he spotted a sweet young thing... He asked the trainer that was
near by "What machine in here should I use to impress that sweet
thing over there?"
The trainer looked him up and down and said "I would try the ATM in the lobby".......

Withdrawal symptoms begin as soon as four hours after the last cigarette, generally peak in intensity at three to five days, and disappear after two weeks. They include both physical and mental symptoms.
Physical Symptoms
During the quitting process people should consider the following physical symptoms of withdrawal as they were recuperating from a disease and treat them accordingly as they would any physical symptoms:
-Tingling in the hands and feet
-Sweating
-Intestinal disorders (cramps, nausea)
-Headache
-Cold symptoms as the lungs begin to clear (sore throats, coughing, and
other signs of colds and respiratory problem)
Mental and Emotional Symptoms
Nearly every moderate to heavy smoker experiences more than one of the following strong emotional and mental responses to withdrawal.
-Feelings of being an infant: temper tantrums, intense needs, feelings of
dependency, a state of near paralysis.
-Insomnia
-Mental confusion
-Vagueness
-Irritability
-Anxiety
-Depression is common in the short and long term. In the short term it may mimic the feelings of grief felt when a loved one is lost. As foolish as it sounds, a smoker should plan on a period of actual mourning in order to get through the early withdrawal depression.

Paranoia will destroy Ya.
It's interesting to observe.
I think that when I wear my rain boots it feels the same way as when people wear jeans....I don't know for sure, of course, since I don't have any jeans, though I used to have a cute jeans skirt, but I don't wear skirts any more and I don't have a jeans dress since that isn't appealing to me....
just a thought, is all...
and, yeah, since it's raining (again and forever) I had to come home and change out of my new favorite and too cute for words short leather boots, into my still cute with flowers 'n things, rain boots!!
I love (pretending to be) being vapid ! :>

I have often said the meteorologists have been conspiring with the tourism industry. I have even called it the great media-ology.
It's happening again. Thursday, all the tv station weather guys were boasting about the beautiful, sunny, warm holiday weekend ahead.
Yesterday was gorgeous....sunny, warm....a perfect day.
The weekend started today. It is cloudy, chilly and windy. The same
conditions are now forecast thru Monday...with some showers now on Monday.
Its a marketing ploy I tell ya. And Wall Street probably has a forecasting derivative for it. Hm. I should look.

I slept poorly.
The humidity is at 85%, it is soupy and mosquito-y outside.
I am working on a playground revitalization proposal and am in/out all day.
I mistakenly thought I had scheduled a budget meeting for 830am and rushed out of the house without drying my hair, in a rather dodgy ensem.
Consequently, I'm having a truly horrific hair day and I am wearing dark coloured shorts with legs that are an unenviable shade of cadaver pale.
AND I left the breakfast, lunch and coffee I packed on the kitchen counter.
I wanna go back to bed and start today over.

We've been on the run
Driving in the sun
Looking out for number 1
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Hustlers grab your guns
Your shadow weighs a ton
Driving down the 101
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
Here we come!
On the stereo
Listen as we go
Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Pedal to the floor
Thinkin' of the roar

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery," and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.

Ode to Enchanted Light
Under the trees light
has dropped from the top of the sky,
light
like green
latticework of branches,
shining
on every leaf,
drifting down like clean
white sand.
A cicada sends
it's song sawing
high into the empty air.
The world is
a glass overflowing
with water.

My allergies took a beating with the oak pollen.
Now we slide right into the pine pollen.
If I dress all in pink, maybe it will mistake me for a benadryl and leave me alone.
Take my hand and walk with me
I can not say our journey together will be with out rocks and brambles
there will always be those who scoff at how we can be so imperfectly perfect for eachother
but just take the hand I extend to you
for it is given in love and without reservation
you are the light I could not see
the love I could not believe in
and yet you stood by my side never wavering
until my sight cleared
and I saw the other half of me in you
forgive a broken cowboi for his hard head ways
Bu hy is here before you
and I offer to you my hand
and my name for now and for all times
so walk this path with me, right by my side
and I promise to you the best of us is only yet to be:rrose:

Bruce B. Wilmer
Our love is something we have built
From passions, hopes and dreams.
It's safe from any passing moods,
Secure from all extremes.
It's something real and special,
Something solid, something pure.
It's something we can always count on,
ringing sound and sure.
It's something grounded in the heart,
Emitting confidence.
It lives in our emotions;
It is something we can sense.
Our love remains a binding force,
Resistant to all strife.
Amidst the outer pressures,
it's our anchor throughout life.

I slept good today, gearing up for my three in a row, then the big move. Then got called off work AGAIN at 5pm. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But I got called off yesterday from a day shift I was picking up. So I really shouldn't have been the one called off again tonight. For once day shift and night shift not communicating worked for me.
I made a beet, radish, walnut and blue cheese salad-like dish...
it's in the fridge so all the flavors can 'marry'...I love how it's trendy to talk about 'flavors marrying'...it seems such a full of itself expression...I get it, of course, still makes me laugh
I finished the task I set for myself and am relieved and pissed at myself that I made it such a big deal, when it wasn't a big deal, I just didn't want to do it...
I can't walk in my livingroom...I took out tons of stuff from the closet to get to some bags which I thought the lady from the store would like, she did like them...now I have to put stuff back in and make the room look, and function, as thought an adult human being lives here...
this was boring, I do realize...it was 'random' so I guess it fits!

(From the Uncle John's Heavy Duty Bathroom Reader...and yes, we have them all *G*)
About 100 ant species have no queens. All the workers in these species are wingless, fertile females and one usually takes on the dominant egg-laying role. To mate, she leaves the nest, performs a mating dance of sorts, releases pheromones, and attracts a male. She then copulates with him and, in some species, carries him into the nest and bites off his genitalia. The genitalia will continue supplying her with sperm for an hour or more. The male dies.
ALSO!! Fun lil ant fact (Other than the fact that I HATE them)
Queens of some ant species can live for as long as 30 years and can produce hundreds of millions of eggs over a lifetime.
(No wonder there are so many ants!)

I recently watched this:
http://cdn-9.nflximg.com/en_us/boxshots/gsd/70123329.jpg
Netflix Instant
Overall it was a good film. I was perplexed by a few things though.
In the film, the researcher and film crew are attacked by one of the bears and the researcher shoots and kills the female bear (notoriously one of the slowest reproducing mammals). He cries about this, and seems genuinely distressed about it. Who wouldn't be right? What I don't understand is why a man who has been researching these bears for 30 years hasn't come up with a different deterrent.
The second part that bothered me was that the same researcher feels that if he helps bear hunters to hunt and kill the male bears only, that he is helping to prevent unnecessary female bear kills. IMO I feel that he is a part of the problem. The population/habitat of these bears is dwindling because of clear cutting and hunting (yet there is still a bear hunting season), and I just cant fathom why/how he can be a party to their further demise.
Maybe I'm just a tree-hugging fool, but I just wanted to put my feelings about this out in the world somewhere. So, I randomly posted this here.

(A quick cheap fix - if you have a container you can keep pets out of...) Borax, water and sugar - you can find the exact measurements on the web :)
Also, there are certain grains you can sprinkle that they will eat & die from because they expand and blow the ants up :)

I do know this, but I'm lazy and don't want to actually spend any money on them. Pest control is free with the apartment and usually they guys are in and out in the morning, but I guess with it being so hot and icky, we're not the only ones having bug issues.

Did I mention that my mother joined FB? I am sure I didn't That's right! Anyway, she joined and immediately forgot her password. So she used the "reset password" option, but the security settings on their computer filtered the auto-response out. (My theory)
So then she e-mailed "the Facebook people" and "proved that she's who she says she is" (I have no idea what this involved) and still couldn't get in. So I asked her if she tried to get in using her other computer. They have so many different security programs on their computer that it's a wonder they can access anything. I pull my hair out every time I visit. Apparently that did the trick, because today she was back in business. And today she posted this: Am I here? Hello?
{{ Bumped into this Trivia, I did enjoy learnin' some stuff from the Movie, I prefer the Book for most reasons obvious in the Trivia }}
Director Jon Avnet referred to Mary-Louise Parker as "Lou" and Mary Stuart Masterson as "Stu" on the set because their names are so similar and he had to say them so often.
There really is a Whistle Stop Cafe that does indeed serve fried green tomatoes (among other Southern foods) just north of Macon Georgia. It is in the actual area where many of the scenes were filmed. After the film became a huge success, the Whistle Stop Cafe set was turned into an actual restaurant, and its surrounding area into a tourist attraction. Although they may have filmed in Georgia, the true Whistle Stop Cafe is in Irondale, Alabama (a suburb or Birmingham, where Author Fannie Flagg grew up.)
Author Fannie Flagg is the woman telling the classroom of disaffected women, "You can get that spark back into your marriage!"
Mary Stuart Masterson did all of the bee stunts herself because her stunt double quit at the last minute.
In July 2008, afterellen.com reported that Mary-Louise Parker said that she, her costar Mary Stuart Masterson, and screenwriter (and original novel author) Fannie Flagg were all strong advocates for depicting in the film the lesbian relationship between Ruth and Idgie that had appeared in the book, but the director, Jon Avnet, and the producers of the film chose instead to excise the romance and just make the two characters into friends. In the DVD extras, Avnet does say that he considered Idgie and Ruth's food fight scene in the movie as an analogy for a love scene between the two that he chose not to include.

Oh my heavenly mapley-bacony donutty deliciousness.
I just ate 4 of these. :|
They are only two inches in diameter! (and what were you thinking? LOL)
I wish this photo was the actual size though.

I was just briefly outwitted by a fly. He snuck in when my mom went out for a walk. He was flying ALL OVER until I stealthily picked up the fly swatter. Suddenly, he was a NINJA. Damn fly.

A man and his wife go to their honeymoon hotel for their 25th anniversary. As the couple reflected on that magical evening 25 years ago, the wife asked the husband, "When you first saw my naked body in front of you, what was going through your mind?"
The husband replied, "All I wanted to do was to fuck your brains out, and suck your tits dry."
Then, as the wife undressed, she asked, "What are you thinking now?"
He replied, "It looks as if I did a pretty good job.":giggle:

I just posted this, using the Report function on Visitor msgs because I couldn't find a way to alert mods otherwise. Anyway, I'm just posting it here to relieve a little more of the freaking out (that of course I am over, but just in case....)

My 12yo son, thinking that he was really funny and that mama would be surprised and laugh, joined the site and sent me a PM.
I already talked to him about it. (I don't get mad. I just get... firm.)
Believe me, I'm already looking into Parental Control software, but until then, can you close his account or do anything else for us?
Thank you. Oh, and I understand if you can't do anything when one member reports something about another member. How do you know I'm his mother? Maybe he's MY mother. Best clue, though? His account is called "hi mama, it's asa."

Today for the first time I made home made pad thai and it turned out great!
I am so happy. I love thai food but am a little intimidated by the spicing so I have not made it before. This was pretty easy and good, it is sooo going into my cooking rotation. I liked it better than my local thai restaurant's version.

Somehow I think my driving isnt the issue... It's obviously everyone else who is driving wrong...right? right!
Took my car in to the dealer today to try and find the source of this intermittent front end creaking that is driving me nuts.
I drove it. The service manager drove it. We both hit every bump, pothole, and sidewalk. He was doing wheelies in the gravel.
And the result.....nada. Not a peep or a squeek, or a thump, or an anything.
I know what I hear, I just cant get it to reproduce on command. *&^%.
On a brighter note, there are still tickets available for game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Balcony seats are a mere $500. The loge seats are $7,000. And a suite will set you back $50,000. The prices came down after the Bruins lost game 5. :|
Think I'll just stay home in my jammies and watch it on tv.

Whenever that happens with my car, I like to go through an elaborate dance and call to help explain the problem to the service person. Not sure what your sound is exactly, but as an example, I might stomp and flap my arms like wings and screech: YEEEE-heee, YEEEE-heee, YEEEE-heee. Some service people appreciate it and some don't.

Are you saying it helps to demonstrate a noise or problem? Or are you saying you want to see me flap like a chicken while braying like a donkey? :jester:
Sometimes I just crack me up.

It's so great to have somewhere to put these little things. Do you think my blog followers get sick of 20-30 posts a day?
I'm a little critical of the lack of manners in New England. For example, there seem to be no more than a dozen natives that say "excuse me" when they walk right in front of your face. And for those few, I question their heritage.
All right, so tonight I was grocery shopping. It was very crowded. As a woman and I approached each other, I veered right to pass her. She, however, veered to her left and we were now nose-to-nose.
"Bear right," I said cheerily, smiling.
"No, YOU bear right!" she replied.
Hmm, I thought, guess manners is the least of her problems.

http://prius.ecrostech.com/original/Understanding/Animations/Normal.gif
""""""...Stationary Engine Starts
To start the engine, MG1 (connected to the sun) is driven forward using electrical power from the high voltage battery, as shown in the animation above. If the car is stationary, the ring gear of the PSD will also be held stationary. The rotation of the sun gear therefore forces the planet carrier to rotate. This is connected to the ICE and turns it over at 1/3.6 of the rotation rate of MG1 (see equation 1 in The Power Split Device).
Whereas a conventional car passes fuel and sparks to the ICE as soon as the starter motor gets it turning, the Prius waits until MG1 gets the ICE up to around 1000 r.p.m. This happens in less than a second. MG1 is much more powerful than an ordinary starter motor. To turn the ICE at this rate, it needs to spin at 3600 r.p.m. itself. Starting the ICE from 1000 r.p.m. puts virtually no strain on it because this is a speed at which the ICE would be happy to run under its own power. In addition, the Prius begins by sparking only a couple of cylinders. The result is a very smooth start up, free from noise and lugging, that eliminates the wear associated with normal car engine starts.
Once the ICE has started to run under its own power, the computer controls the throttle opening to get a suitable idle speed during warmup. Electricity is no longer fed to MG1 and, in fact, if the battery is low MG1 may be used to generate electricity to charge the battery. The animation above illustrates this situation also. The computer merely configures MG1 as a generator instead of as a motor, opens the ICE throttle a bit more and draws off electricity".....
I'm not as broken as I supposed myself to be. That's good, right?
It may depend on what you're looking for. I know I've often said to myself, "If only that woman had a whole lot of self-esteem issues, why, I'd be all over her."

Absolutely! We tend to be more harsh on ourselves than others. Too bad we don't see ourselves though others' eyes; it would prove very revealing for some, I'm sure.
