I am feeling very sad for all the people in the Atlanta area who are homeless today because their homes and apartments were burned down!!!! It is an epidemic of house fires. And there have been several deaths as well.

Last Friday there was an apartment fire where three children were left alone by their mother and her boyfriend. They baracaded the children 4,3 and2 years old into their bedroom by a couch. The space heater was left on; the place caught on fire. The four and three year olds died in the fire and the 2 yr old is in critical condition from smoke inhalation. They were out partying!!!!

When I had my sleep study done the doctor told me the worst thing you could do is let your animals sleep with you... Since I no longer have cat's sleeping in bed with me or my dogs for that matter I do sleep better... lipstixgal I do hope they get you a working cpap soon, I have heard from a couple of people that it can take some getting use to also ask for some other masks to try... Good luck finding the elusive sleep fairy... She seems to have run out on me...

Naaaa, I wouldn't want to block my view of the lake, or the stars at night. And who needs potted plants or flowers when you live in the wilderness with wildflowers and everything nature? Naaaa, I think I'll enjoy being a minimalist. I like it 'cause it's very simple.

Now, my last apartment in the city had a herb garden and flowers on the deck.
Don't get me wrong, I like your suggestion.... I also think I would order it in a different color? But I personally don't like curtains or blinds that block the sunshine and my view of the nature and lake.... in the city I use curtains at night. Besides, who needs curtains in a secluded lake side house when you go skinny dippin in the lake and then are fully clothed IN the house by the fireplace? :shark:

I think I'm done with city living and curtains that block out the sun.

Based on experience...
It's not so much the blocking out of Sun, or hiding from the stars...
At least, for me, it would be against any Random Hiking Peeping Tom, or Pervie Hermit I have no clue about....
That and one never knows if there's some cat burgler on the Prowl based on word-of-mouth.

Personally, I would thatch the Deck roof with palm leaves, add a hammock, swing under the stars....
The added plants would attract various species of Birds{and bugs}...just...find hardy plants that don't overwhelm the simplicity of such an awesome refuge?

I've gotten quite a few comments from folks who were confused by this one. Apple always markets their stuff as NOT being a personal computer, i.e. their "I'm a PC vs I'm a Mac" commercials. I was wondering if anyone here has ever had an eggnog milkshake? I have never had one until this year and it was like an OMG moment. Actually it was more of a HFS moment. I like eggnog, I'd say I'm even an eggnog fan but nothing should taste that good. It's like the milkshake part elevated the eggnog part, or hell, maybe it's the other way around but who ever thought that shit up is a genius. It's kindly like reeses cups. Chocolate and peanut butter. Genius. Caramel and popcorn, but the genius part is adding the peanuts. Or baked potatoes and sour cream. A baked potato and butter is good stuff but the sour cream elevates it to a whole nother level.

But there are some things that shouldn't be messed with at all. Like steaks. I like mine just plain, no seasoning, no marinade, no salt... just the raw taste of the meat.

And some foods it doesn't matter what you do to them, they're just that good. Like the tomato. Eat it sliced, plain. Add salt if you want. Or throw it in a salad. Throw it in a soup. Mash it up and make pizza sauce out of it. Hell, fry it up when it's green! I miss tomatoes in the winter. Hot house tomatoes just aren't the same as sun grown ones. If you ever come through Tennessee (east) stop and ask for Grainger County tomatoes. There's just something about them.

Ice cream is pretty versatile too if you think about it. You can have it plain or add just about any fruit to it. And peanuts, pecans, walnuts, cherries, whipped cream. Chocolate. Butterscotch. Caramel. And it is a 'elevator' food too cause it makes cake and pie better. Shit you can even make an ice cream cake and that's just the damned shit right there son. Genius. Ever had baked alaska? That's like the best dessert EVER. That mf should get the nobel prize, or something, whoever thought that up.

But I'm not a huge cake fan, although I like it and I won't turn it away. I'm more of a pie person. Homemade lemon marange pie. My grandma used to make that for me just cause she knew it was my favorite. Homemade - by grandma. I don't think food can ever get any better than that. That's a gift of love right there. I don't know what that yellow stuff is but damn damn that's just some good shit. And then you add the white stuff - I assume that's the marange part. *shrug* but what ever it is, it's an *elevator* food too cause the yellow shit just wouldn't taste the same without it. Now that I'm thinking about it, pecan pie is good shit too. I have no idea what the brown gooey shit is but yummmm and then the soft crunch of the pecans - but you have to have whipped cream with it.

There's alot of foods like the pecan pie and whipped cream. I'm not sure what to call them... sister foods, partner foods. I mean what is apple pie without some ice cream? Peaches without cream? Shit, remember the band Peaches and cream - oh wait that was peaches and herb. Of course peaches are better with herb, hell all food is better with herb LOL ahhh sigh that was back in the day.

I tell ya its cold and brr for me and the dogs too they don't seem to like it very much either. Well what can you do we wish for spring to come soon but three more months of this stuff!! I can't let the dogs out the backyard because there is so much snow on the ground its up around my hips I think. So no backyard for them. I just let them out the front they don't go very far just to the snow bank and back but wow the wind chill is out there..I need groceries but not going until tomorrow when the roads are a little bit better..ok I have ranted enough have a good day..

I feel I have been a good mom, I have loved her and been there when she needed me most, even those times when she thought I wasn't there. I have waited in the wings while she figured stuff out for herself because she didn't need my help because she knew what she was doing. Isn't that funny, we bring them into this world only to be told time and time again that they don't need us. So we step back and watch them stumble and fall, biting our tongues as we watch them struggle to regain some solid ground. It is like watching them learn how to walk again, you are scared and excited all in the same moment as they teeter and totter back and forth. Gaining independence as they move along in this crazy world. while I whispered a silent prayer to whoever was listening and was protecting you. *Keep her safe, but let her learn, and bring her back when she is done.* I never knew that being a mom was going to be so joyful and so painful all at the same time. One thing I have learned is that you can never love them enough to keep them safe and free from heartache...

Have you ever wondered how things get named? Like Doritos. WTF? Or Cheetos. Or Fritos. I believe all of those come from the same company. Somebody got on a serious 'OS kick. I'm imaging a large room full of .... what do you call the peeps who name shit? name-maker-uppers? Ok so there's a room of name-maker-uppers and someone says (of doritos).... 'diamond chips!' (yes, the exclamation mark cause you know they'd be excited cause they thought it up). Some other name-maker-upper - 'no, no, zesty chips!' And then there's always that one person who comes up with the dorky shit who will eventually get demoted to thinking up cereal names cause he or she says, 'dragon's breath'. And of course that just starts a land slide of bickering because the person who came up with dragon's breath is pissed cause they're always being ignored and everyone else thinks they are stupid. I'm sure you can see the snow ball there too (hence the demotion). So I see it happening two ways... one... out of the fighting, bickering chaos comes a slight voice that says 'Doritos'. And suddenly the room goes silent. Everyone nods, grabs their laptops and coffee cups and goes home... or.... and this is my bet.... everyone's fighting and they're out of time so the next day the boss comes in and asks for the name and someone just panics and blurts out 'DORITOS'!!!!!
