It was very late when I got home so I ate an Oikos vanilla yogurt with granola and fresh blueberries and water to drink. I underestimated my hunger, though, and kept going. I had 5 teeny halos and some Snap'd Bacon and White Cheddar crisps to fill in the hunger gap.

Have you seen the "Throwback Spaghetti O's" and "Throwback Ravioli" from Chef-BoyArDee at the grocery store? It's supposed to be the original recipe. I watched a YouTube review from someone who said you can really tell the difference, and that flavor he remembered from childhood was there. I'm going to have to try it. I used to love ravioli.

Me too! I needed some quick, easy, sin food so I bought a can of the ravioli the other day... :( I just chalked it up to over time tastes change, maybe I'm just not remembering correctly what it tasted like when I was a kid, or maybe it's the meds I'm on, doctors have said sometimes they can play havoc with a person's sense of smell, taste. Anyhow thanks to this share I'm going to try it too, though I probably won't read the nutrition panel or ingredients list. Still you know, all the things I was told would kill me when I was seven obviously didn't work because here I still am in my 50's

I must check out the THROWBACKS! Thanks Georgia'Mam!

I wish Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee would bring back their original pizza in a box kit. They changed the flavor of the sauce and it sucks.

The throwback ravioli ingredients look better than the modern version. There is textured vegetable protein in the new version, and the old version is just beef.

I'm 53 and I'm still here, too! And I've had plenty of "sin food" . . .

Along with French bread with garlic herb butter and

Thanks for posting this recipe, RockOn! Everything about it looks delicious. It's been a long time since I've had Dolsot/hot stone pot bibimbap. I have to go to a Korean restaurant to get that. I am lucky to get the regular bibimbap (which is more like a cold salad with the meat, rice and dressing on top). Our Korean lunch lady at work makes it once every two weeks, and if I am lucky enough to get to the lunch counter early enough, I always get some to bring home. Maybe I should buy a stone pot next time I'm at the Asian supermarket and try this at home!

Leftover, non doctored up, cheap frozen pizza brought back to life in the microwave and then heated on the stove to crisp the crust back up. This pizza sucks. It used to be a no frills bargain brand pizza that despite the low cost actually tasted pretty good as is, and almost wow with the addition of a few extra toppings. But now it tastes like the nastiest of the cheapest of cheap frozen pizza and that's even with some help. And of course this time I didn't have the stuff to help it so it was horrible to eat. I wonder if the cheap ass frozen pizza manufacturers are secretly owners/manufacturers of the pricier somewhat better frozen pizza company, and they've drastically reduced the quality of their cheap ass pizzas so as to encourage people to buy more of their high end pizzas? Okay maybe as my children accuse I actually am a bit of a tin foil hat conspiracy theorist. :tinfoil:

I had the exact same thing as last night, except I had 3 bowls of soup which was... a little too filling! I also gave the black bean soup more of a "wow" factor by buying toppings to add in which included sour cream, cheese, cilantro, and onions. I think that's part of why I had to have the 3rd bowl of soup- I had overdone it with the toppings, and I still had a lot left! It's funny when garnishes overtake a dish.

I'm still into the same meal when I eat something from home, that is. While I've been sick (finally well today), I'd been having a lot of delicious but unhealthy take-out. So tonight I had Tabatchnick frozen/ microwaved black bean soup that I dressed up even further than usual with cilantro, chopped onions, sour cream, avocado, cheese, and lime juice! I don't know if something similar has happened to you, but AFTER I'd made and mixed the salad, I started eating it and realized the mushrooms were bad! They LOOKED fine but something was wrong with them- they tasted really weird. BUT the salad was already made! So at first I tried to tell myself there was nothing wrong with the mushrooms and eat them anyway, and when that didn't work, I tried to eat around them. I did pretty good with that. I'm not one to waste food.

So I had a Tuna Melt on artisan Garlic Sourdough bread (which was absolutely scrumptious!) and a fresh organic garden salad and a divine cookie. No ice cream. But I do have So-Delicious Lime Toasted Coconut 'ice-cream' in the freezer, so I'm probably going to eat every last drop of that, later.

I had Greek yogurt with kidney beans. I also added carrots after cooking them in soy sauce and curry paste. And I added cumin. It all has a "gyro" taste to it, and I enjoy it. Yes, I know it falls in the category of "weird." :)

Then I had Ezequiel toast with PB and J. Everything was delicious!

Dinner salad - iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes, mushrooms and Thousand Island dressing. Cup of cottage cheese. Mini hambuerger patty, no carbs but I didn't realize just how many calories there are in a quarter pound, half pound hamburger patty! Now that I know, keeping it light. Small scoop of avacado. No dessert. Tangerine flavored La Croix sparkling water.

Well, it was the Universe's answer to my desire for burgers, I think. I walked into Stop & Shop and was thinking 'burger, burger, burger' as I walked into the bakery section and there it was.

A hamburger cake (https://www.google.com/search?q=hamburger+cake+image&tbm=isch&source=hp&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjY99-Cq8LiAhUdCTQIHe45ALQQsAR6BAgAEAE&biw=1097&bih=537#imgrc=fWSqIaYwxyy3WM:).

And it was discounted half off.

I had to have it.

Right???

I was surprised that it wasn't sickeningly sweet but there's actually not a lot of icing in it. It's mostly different types of cake.

Well it was a late lunch, early dinner thing. My son got the cod basket, I got the chicken strip, and then we traded so we each had a little of both. Water to drink because on the way to my place he swung by the espresso stand and picked me up a latte.

. . . frozen martini popsicle stick . . .

I like the way you think. It is HOT here. How do you get it to freeze with just the gin and vermouth? Do you add something to it?

For dinner, I had pizza with onions, feta and mozzarella.

These are pre-made vodka martini sticks, perfect on a hot day, and tasty. Just throw them in the freezer. Here’s a video about them. They’re sold at costco, BevMo, online, and some local stores.

I made oxtail ragout in the instapot

Oxtail
BIG hunks of sweet potato
BIG hunks of onion
Yellow bell peppers halved and seeded
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 cup water
Garlic cloves
Salt and pepper

Cook for 1 hr on high, and allow for natural steam release

So tender, so flavorful; it was the best oxtail I have ever had!

The pieces were approximately the size of a 6oz sirloin steak! I’m thinking they came from Paul Bunyan’s ox.......
