The flavor was bland. I seem to recall writing Healthy Choice a letter a long way back, whereby I told them that people MUST lose weight from eating their product because 1) it wasn't all that good and 2) there wasn't much to it. Neither of these things have changed since then.

A nice yummy first attempt at making Chicken Chabata sandwiches...
With grilled marinated tender chicken...crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce, mayo, honey mustard on fresh, buttered, toasted chabata bread....on the side, fresh crispy cucumber and sweet peppers.

I would have added tomatoes but the ones I got from food lion today were rotten (ewww)...

I have two days off in a row...so

I got inspired to make chicken soup!

I boiled some thighs and drums with some vegetable odds and ends and some cloves of garlic, sautéed celery, green onions from the garden and minced garlic along with the tiniest bit of a spicy pepper..

Deboned the chicken and strained the stock threw everything in the crock pot. Also used some frozen soup veggie mixture (okra, green beans, carrots, corn, potatoes etc) Added some lentils and I may add some whole wheat pasta. Kale for when it's about finished and some fresh cilantro from the garden to top it off I have some bread and butter to go with it... smells sooo good right now!

I tried a new recipe that I found on one of the whole foods/Paleo blogs that I visit, called "Coconut Shrimp Bowl."

The original recipe which you can find here, Coconut shrimp Bowl (http://www.butchfemmeplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?p=948158#post948158) did not have enough veggies for my tastes so I adjusted it a bit and added some sliced mushroom, green onion and then I made zucchini noodles to stir in during the last couple of minutes of cooking. It was really good. :)

I had a Schlotsky's Turkey Bacon sandwich, Dr. Pepper, and marshmallows for dessert...the miniature kind I bought for the sweet potatoes. I know, I know...

My Sadie would likely love having the leftovers, but if I gave her my leftovers I'd stay broke just from buying groceries because I always cook for 2 or 3 days worth of meals at one time.:)

Besides, she eats grain free dog food and rarely eats people food other than fresh veggies, some fruits and some lean meat on occasion.
