I'm not sure really..
I had defrosted a roast but we have been so busy that I hadn't cooked it yet. So, I put it in the crock pot and made some beef stew with it. Maybe that will be dinner tonight or tomorrow..we'll see
Speaking of crock pots, I found mine. Now I have to resist the temptation to make a huge amount of something or other .

Tonight on the way home from being out with my mom and sister, we pulled into the drive-thru at Brahms and got dinner: swirl cone for me, sundae for my sister, chocolate shake for my mom.
We had been out helping our mom find something to wear to our dad's service this coming weekend and our mom said, her voice quavering, "I want a chocolate shake for dinner."

Going to ease back into things with crockpot meatballs over rice.
Patties mixed with 4 hot spices, egg, cracker, Worcestershire, diced yellow onion, Kosher salt and pepper. Sauteed slow in a mound of mushrooms and olive oil. Then topped with 2 melted cheeses, under warm hamburger buns, and served with sour cream and chopped green onion.
I like my cheeseburgers with dill pickles, a pile of chips and a 6-pack of beer.

Freeze it. I fix pots all the time and freeze everything after a couple of dinners. I never eat the same thing throughout the week. It's much more economical to cook the full recipe and freeze it. You can freeze almost everything including fresh vegetables and some fruits. How-tos are on line.

It was late and I was in the mood for something decadent but everything I have at home looked so healthy and boring, and it was too close to bed time to order out. I managed to scrounge up some old annoyingly healthy pancake mix and syrup. The pancakes ended up not being what I'd hoped for, but bad pancakes are like bad sex -- still pretty good! BB wasn't eating dinner because hy had a stomach ache tonight and kept saying, "You're torturing me with those pancakes! They smell so good!" I kept saying, "Trust me, they're not so good!" Anything being fried usually smells delicious :).

Tonight:
chicken filets pan fried in butter, a little salt/pepper.
sliced onion, mushrooms, and thyme sauteed in a little butter.
sliced provolone cheese.
I added the onion mixture to the tops of the chicken filets and then added the sliced cheese, placed in broiler for a few minutes till cheese melted and browned. We had this with fresh steamed broccoli. I enjoyed a winter cider and my wife enjoyed a glass of red wine.
Tonight I will be making
Slow cooker pork roast
Butternut squash soup
Sautéed green beans

They tasted too good! :) Milk to drink. I am so whooped, must take a nap and it is only 6:30 p.m..... what the heck, there at the end of my day, I chopped 4 stubborn stumps with an axe, they all had huge roots. I baked a spaghetti squash; sauteed shallot, tomato, garlic and capers in a little olive oil - when the squash was finished I raked up it in it's shell and then put in the saute sauce and topped it with a little fresh mozzarella and stuck it under the broiler for a few minutes until the mozz was melty.
I also baked up a tray of chicken breast in a simple french vinaigrette marinade.
Dinner tonight and lunch for a couple of days ahead.
I also made a pot of steel cut oats for my breakfasts - for the next few work days - but I was a little off my game and burnt the bottom of the pot. :P
