The seared duck breast with caramelized shallots and pears tonight was out of this world! Half left for tomorrow, I will slice it very thin and have it over greens I think!

A tip on herbs..I wanted to grow an herb guarden so I could have fresh when I needed it,so I bought a kids wagon that was big enough to hold 8 medium sise pots that fit just right in the wagon,I put some pea graven on the bottom and out the planted pots on top, when its too hot or cold I can roll then wagon to a better place for the herbs so they wont get burned but the hot or frozen by the cold.At the moment I have a full rolleing herb guarden thgat shure looks good later this year im going to try to dehydrate some and see how it works.

It was fun, and I bought the book, and I was the first person in the world to buy his book so he was moved, they photographed me with him, and it turns out he lived in Paris for 35 years and was a food critic there so we spoke French, the book involves food, needless to say, so I am looking forward to reading it!

Today had eggs Norvégienne (toasted English muffin, poached organic eggs, Norwegian smoked salmon, Hollandaise sauce) at my local French café for brunch with a friend, and later in the day, mango and raspberry sorbets. Too hot for dinner!
We had our 4th of July bbq last night on the 3rd, grilled teriyaki chicken, grilled zucchini mint salad, roasted potato salad with olive oil, duck bacon, caramelized garlic, and French tarragon balsamic vinegar, dessert was Frangipane (pear and almond tart) and make your own Sundae. Beverages: Oregon Pinot Noir, and Blue Moon beer.
It is scorching hot in NYC!

In a little while, I will enjoy fresh steamed vegetables. I loaded up my double decker food steamer with carrots, squash, potatoes, cabbage, asparagus, 2 ears of corn, and broccolli.
I don't cook often and when I do, I make enough to last several days. Here's the great thing about the steamed fresh veggies. I can refrigerate them and then randomly take out what I need, sprinkle with salt, add some butter and nuke them. A very large glass of cold milk goes really swell with this meal.
... off to the kitchen to check on how much longer ... I am so hungry!
