Sure! It's called Warm Showers: http://www.warmshowers.org/
I've hosted some awesome people through it. Including a woman biking from Idaho to Rhode Island, passing through here on her 74th birthday, and a couple of women from NYC who were riding from San Francisco to home. Shrimp stufed pork chops with dirty rice and homemade dinner rolls. Then if I feel like it I may cook up some apple fritters then dust them over with cinnamom and sugar or eat them plane.
Dinner tonight will be some awesome leftovers from lunch.
I fried the fat from a chuck roast and then threw it away reserving the rendered oil to cook the beef cubes, diced onion, and sliced celery. The stew pot had carrots, potatoes, beef broth, some penne pasta, and then I added the frypan contents to it and left it boil until almost done, then added dumplings on top, turned the heat down and threw a lid on it for 15 minutes. It is the most awesome beef stew I have ever eaten I think and with the dumplings. Mmmm mmmmm.
Anyone care to join me?? *Smiles broadly.

**Searing is the process of browning the surfaces of meats, especially steaks. When done properly there are chemical reactions, the Maillard reaction and caramelization chief among them, that create savory compounds on the surface, and dry it a bit, to make a seductive crust. When it comes to steak, you want an even sear from edge to edge, no grill marks. All the tan meat in between the grill marks is undeveloped real estate. Grill marks are overrated, and in fact, undesirable on steak. Charcoal can reach a higher temperature than gas, thus creating the "seductive" crust that a nice piece of beef yearns for.

It was a drop-dead gorgeous day here in the South and all the little lovelies are pushing through the soil turning happy faces towards the sun. A trip to the little independently owned produce stand was in order. There I made acquaintance with two tomatoes that tasted of summer. So, a B.L.T. was in order. Truth, *two* B.L.T.s were in order and they were scrumptious. :chef:
I also wanted a mojito but was too lazy to muddle the mint so I had a Bacardi Silver "Mojito." Alas that tasted like my grandpa's aftershave used to smell. The kind that came from Avon in a thick glass bottle shaped like an antique car. Yup, it was that foul.
Katniss~~(oh the joys of tomatoes that taste of summer....*happy sigh*)

I must really be a misfit toy, cause I make my pasta salad different than EVERYONE else.
I made fried chicken tonight...the breading was eggs, peppercorn ranch dressing, garlic, onion powder, hot sauce and then dipped into Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, salt and pepper and fried in peanut oil. I also fried potatoes with onions and sweet hot peppers from last year's garden. I also had some freshly cut off the cob corn with lotsa butter.
