I am having half a grilled New York steak, roasted butternut squash with olive oil and sea salt, and steamed green beans with a squeeze of lemon, later green tea and a couple of girl scout cookies (the trefoil or "tea cookie"). One of my students is a girl scout so I had to order, even though she knows I don't support the organization, and why.
I don't know that NY steak fits the detox programme, but I had a craving. My compromise is to only eat half, the rest (very rare) thinly sliced over some bitter greens tomorrow.
It is so great to really have the time to take care of me, and eat healthily!

It was Chinese to the rescue! We had sweet 'n sour chicken. I had steamed rice. Ebon had fried rice. Both of us had hot 'n sour soup, but he's getting the rest of mine. I didn't care for it much. Ebon also had beef 'n broccoli and I had almond chicken for our seconds (part of a special). I didn't care for the almond chicken either.

Slow cooked a london broil in the oven with carrots, onions, a can of diced tomatoes, garlic, and a little Worchestershire sauce...

Made basmati rice cooked in beef broth and green beans to go with it...

Took the tomatoes and some of the onion from the cooking pan, blended it, seasoned it, finished it with a little butter and made a nice sauce...

Scoote said "this is good, what's it called?"

I could only shrug... :cheesy: Half the time what I'm cooking doesn't have a name...I'm just playing in the kitchen.

well what else does someone with major stumach problems eat? PIZZA!

and yes,I am so damn miserable right now I could scream...Someone needs to superglue my mouth shut....

in MY defense..i was suppose to be taken to the grocery store FOUR days ago...there are none of the foods I am suppose to eat here except for one more can of soup and I refused to eat soup four days in a row...

so justification has lead me to the path of wrong and on it had olives onions sausage mushrooms and ham. Damn it was good when it was being chewed. I only had two pieces...and I chewed alot and took small bites..shoulda counted for something....

Used all of the above ingredients and some olive oil along with spices, fresh garlic and onions

Tonight, I'm giving a new recipe a try. Boiled Tilapia Parmesan. I don't usually work with the broiler, so we'll see how it goes. It has mayo, lemon juice, spices, and parmesan cheese in a sauce that goes over the tilapia after it's just about done.

That will be joined by some broiled white asparagus, rice, and a salad.

Been under the weather so I made some chicken soup from broth, a chicken breast, a can of mushrooms and a can of corn. Came out pretty good actually after adding onion salt and some pepper. Also cooked up the 2 other chicken breasts in the package for dinners other nights. Can stretch those into 3 dinners, and the soup is good for 3. So 3 chicken breasts, 6 meals, 1/2 an hour. How is that for 30 minutes meals! :fastdraq:

June,
I am emptying my freezer, my fridge and my pantry to make room for healthier spring fare! The mango pickle I made in 2006, and it keeps improving with age! I love the intense saltiness, spiciness, texture and fruity flavours of Indian pickle, and I usually make lime, lemon and mango pickle every year; the mango one I make with green mango, keeping ripe mangoes for chutneys.
Do you have some canning recipes for the cookbook?

creamy tomato basil soup
green beans wrapped in prosciutto and roasted

and for dessert oranges in marsala sauce
and of course espresso (I like mine with a lemon twist and sugar)
