I had pulled pork, that kind you can get in packages in the deli section and heat up in the microwave

I put it on those Hawaiian rolls.

A piece of pumpkin pie and whipped cream

Fizzy water

Even though I am going someplace for Thanksgiving, meaning not cooking, I always end up buying some T-giving type items to have around over the weekend, like those Hawaiian rolls, pumpkin pie and so on. I bought some cranberry sauce too. Love that stuff.

This weekend I made chili. My turn to make something this week for me and 2 gals at work. Last time was soup, now chili week.
I made it (first time ever) today and we (son & I) will be eating it shortly. He said it smelt good when he walked in the house :)

I also made banana muffins with a crumble on top.

Nuked a Stoffers frozen spaghetti dinner ... needed two of them - the one just sort of pissed me off.

Found another Stoffers frozen meal in the back of the freezer ... it was a package of two stuffed bell peppers and had some weight to it. So good!

I had already fed the dogs, I feed them first. We three munched Nature Valley Crunchy Oats & Honey Granola Bars while my two corn dogs were cooling..

Worked outside all day and did not eat until I came in after dark - that is why it took more for me tonight.

Off subject but I built a table today, this one is for me. It is 57" by 24". I painted it this great looking gray color. It is in between dark and light gray. I love this color! *grinning big*

Worked until almost 7:00 p.m. and snacked on junk all day. When I got home, diced up potatoes and chipped up lots and lots of carrots into a pot. Dumped a can of drained Delmonte green beans in there - not the skinny French style ones either. Added water and boiled until tender. My stomach was yelling for veggies. It could not take one more bite of junk food. Anyway, put it on a couple of doubled up stiff paper plates and added some salt. So good! Large glass of milk to drink.

I just thought of a pretty corny joke one of my college instructors told the class. Here it is:

Know why software developers don't eat quiche?
It is not sold in vending machines.

I

warned

you

it

was

corny.

Incredible amount of protein in lentil soup. I make a hearty version with diced tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion or shallots, chicken broth and Italian sausage seared off. Inexpensive, healthy and enough to fill containers for freezing and stocking up for another time.

I've had a smoothie for lunch all week and haven't felt like breakfast.

Nuked a Lean Cuisine French Bread Pizza, milk to drink, then a couple of Golden Oreos ... all blah - not really hungry. Not sure but I think I was sad today. Worked outside from 1:00 until a little past dark as hard as I could, really pushed myself to the edge, thinking it would leave. Well, at least the work temporarily distracted me somewhat. I think I don't like Christmas music in stores right now. Thought I'd bawl at Walmart in the paint department this morning. Felt that softball feeling coming up in my throat and thought "get the fuck out of here now!" My two heads of cabbage and I made a mad dash for check out. It kills me to snivel in front of anyone. Hope this the the last of it. Christmas is still 2.5 weeks away and I have to go into stores to buy food for Kelly, Kevin and I. And they are expecting Santa to bring them those 3 feet long rawhide bones. Santa hasn't shopped yet.

Mercy, this is the eating thread ... not touchy-feely!!! Chit, chit, chit!

Going to bed now if I can get a little wiggle room into bed - the KKs are sprawled all over my queen size bed.

Sweet dreams to everyone :)

I broiled filet mignon steaks with a coarse sea salt/crushed black pepper rub, on the rare side; baby spinach salad with cucumber, avocado and a homemade french vinaigrette, and haricot vert (al dente).

I basically justified the red meat by surrounding it with all things green. :)

Hey DaddyNik12, I know exactly what you mean about that orange chicken frozen meal. Nasty! And I am not a picky eater at all. Mine went into the trash too. You and I, we are smart like that. We know the first time if it is edible. :)

*looks up, eyeing Kobi's meal* Now that is what I am talking about - the good stuff! Smells so good!

I'm eating dinner right now - it's a can of Healthy Choice chicken noodle soup with saltines and milk.

I cooked almost 5 pounds of ground beef earlier. Drained the grease extremely well by adding water after it was done, then I sloshed it well before draining. Halved it into 2 large bowls. Put a large handful of grated mild cheddar cheese in each bowl. Mixed the cheese all around, nuked each bowl, took out of microwave and stirred it well. My KKs ate well tonight. They have been eating their dry dog food all week so I wanted to cook something they would love.

i'ma in heaven jus' thinkin' about all this scrumptiousness...

It is very tasty! Just take the tender asparagus (thin stalks) and make small little bundles, wrap them up in slices of prosciutto and put them in a grill basket over a *charcoal* grill. Yummy!

Slight derail;

I think the reason many folks don't like certain foods is because they have never had it prepared properly. The first time I had asparagus was from a can which is such a terrible first introduction to what really is a wonderful veggie.

My own parents never eat anything even remotely different from their meat and potato diet and are afraid to try anything outside their comfort zone. Such a pity because Indian and Vietnamese dishes are some of my favorites and it pains me when someone won't even try something (food allergies aside of course).

@Kobi,
Don't let the rich blue hue fool you! Those are, in fact, my famous zesty lemon Christmas cookies guaranteed to congeal to perfection during the shipping process North. Be sure you are available to sign for them immediately at delivery as they are very popular, and I'd hate to see an opportunistic postal worker steal them away from you!

And I believe Daktari mentioned he prefers his Christmas cookies aged to a delightful holiday green. So, in keeping with the holiday spirit, as well as individual tastes; his batch is currently "turning" just the right shade prior to shipping.
